Rotate arm exercises to add variety

Dear Mr. Fitness:

Can you provide me with a list of arm exercises that would firm them up quickly? I'm doing three or four exercises for my triceps (the worst part) and three or four exercises for my biceps right now. They just aren't getting any better. I do 10 reps and three sets for each exercise.

I'm a 49-year-old woman who took up weight training three months ago. I have enlisted my son to help me but he doesn't have any patience and suggested I write to you.

I weigh 151 pounds and am 5-feet, 6-inches tall. I know I need to lose weight.

I will try to do whatever you say. Thank you.

Dear Disenchanted:

Do not grow disenchanted. I can be of assistance, not only for you but for your son as well.

The first thing you should be made aware of is that working out for three months is not a long time. You've only just begun. A relative neophyte. Relax and give the exercises a little time to work. Most people have been overweight for some time and the body is resistant to change.

The second item I need to address is the number of sets and reps you are now doing.
