Towamencin: Long list of waivers requested for proposed Planet Fitness – The Times Herald
TOWAMENCIN Developer PSDC has begun making the case to Towamencin's officials for a new Planet Fitness to go inside a former Sears hardware store building.
In addition to a request to the board for conditional use approval, the developer is also asking to waive the formal land development process, and for a series of waivers of parts of township codes.
"Because this is an existing center, while we are proposing some improvements, we are requesting a waiver of land development," said attorney Carl Weiner.
During the township supervisors' Dec. 9 meeting, Weiner and engineer John Anderson read a Dec. 1 review letter from township engineer Tom Zarko, explaining how they'll comply with most of the conditions spelled out, and asking for waivers for several.
The first waiver request had to do with sidewalks along the frontages: on the Forty Foot Road side, Anderson said, the concrete sidewalks eventually merge with an asphalt path in front of the adjacent SKF Inc. office building also built by PSDC, and a similar link could be made on the Allentown Road side leading to an adjacent cemetery.
"We'd be happy to leave the asphalt path the way it is today. I think PSDC would be grateful to leave it, and not do any improvements there," Anderson said, and the board agreed.
Two more waiver requests had to do with street trees to be installed around the perimeter of the site, along both Allentown and Forty Foot Roads, where earlier and older trees have been removed over the past two years. Weiner said current codes require any new trees be at least 25 feet from overhead utility lines, which do run above both frontages, and said he and the engineer would work with staff to find shorter species that don't grow as high.
"That looks awful, now that those trees have been taken down. I understand there's power lines, but hopefully there's some way to address that," supervisors Chairman Chuck Wilson said, and supervisor Dan Littley added the property "looks like a B-52 strike" without them.
"I don't care what you do: until you do the outer perimeter trees, you're not going to change anything," Littley said.
A different waiver request asked that the board grant the developer permission to bypass a requirement that the entire parking lot be screened along the perimeter, which prompted similar comments.
"It's great that you're doing this, and I'm sure we all want to see this thing move along, but the landscaping proposed in here is just very scarce," Wilson said.
Anderson suggested the developer could work with the township's engineer to develop a phased landscaping plan, showing trees for the Sears and strip area first, then the frontages and a possible connection to the SKF building later on. Wilson said he and the board would accept that, and solicitor Jack Dooley suggested adding conditions to the land development waiver that require landscaping be added as part of later phases.
Applications for new freestanding signs indicating the new name of "The Shops at Town Square" are also in the works, according to the engineer, and those signs would meet all current codes and likely be surrounded by landscaping features near each driveway entrance, he said.
Supervisor Rich Marino also asked if the latest plans still include a driveway connection between the shopping center and the SKF building, with a driveway running out to a new traffic signal planned on Forty Foot at Newbury Way.
"That is still part of the future plans," Anderson said, but the developer is currently more focused on finding tenants for the shopping center first, then the planned age-restricted residential development behind, and analyzing the impact of COVID-19 on demand for each.
"They are definitely working on future plans for that area. It just has taken a little bit of a delay," Anderson said.
The board voted unanimously to direct staff to prepare a resolution spelling out the land development waivers and conditions, "in accordance with the discussion we had on each of the items tonight," Wilson said.
In response to an early look at the project's renderings, readers of The Reporter sounded off on Facebook about the proposed Planet Fitness. Reader Christina Guarna said she wondered what would go into the former Via Marconi restaurant building in the shopping center, and reader Theresa Guarna Prendergast said "at least it looks like something is finally happening to that site. Its been so sad seeing it empty like that (for) so long."
Reader Kathy Giorno Uskuraitis said she "would rather have some kind of family fun thing there," while reader Renai Molettiere Cardillo said "as a neighbor in Lower Salford, I applaud Towamencin Township for their thoughtful development."
Reader John Hatz Jr. added that he was "surprised anyone would invest in a gym at this time," and reader Mary Kliewer Wegscheider agreed: "I wouldnt open a gym in the near future," and reader Carla Kloufetos simply commented: "Yes!!!!"
Towamencin's supervisors next meet at 7 p.m. on Jan. 4, 2021; for more information visit http://www.Towamencin.org.

All the Fit I Know: Work on the fitness trifecta: Need to, have to, want to – telegraphherald.com
At this point, it is undeniable that we need to exercise. The benefits of exercise are so abundant that no one can make a rational argument to not engage in regular exercise.
Even so, some of us dont. With all the supporting evidence, it is hard to make exercise part of the daily routine. Some cite time issues, lack of knowledge, diminished motivation and desire or declining health or injury.
Whatever the reason might, we have to, need to and must want to make it part of our lifestyle.
Need to. Maybe we have reached a point where we need to make exercise part of our daily routine. Has the body weight slowly crept up? Is strength starting to fade with age? Is balance becoming more of a challenge as we move through life? Maybe we no longer want to feel sluggish and tired throughout the day.
People always are looking for the magic bullet in the form of gadgets and supplements, when all thats needed is physical activity on a regular basis. Improving and maintaining fitness is something we need to do if we want to live an active functional life and keep up with our other active friends and family.
Have to. This might sound extreme, but our life depends on exercise. Exercise will improve the chances of a long, active life.
In 2012, The Journal of Aging Research reported that mortality rate is reduced up to 35% in those who engage in regular physical activity as compared to sedentary individuals.
If you want to be around to enjoy life with the aforementioned friends and family, then get up and get moving. Keep things like Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, risk of stroke and other health issues at bay.
Want to. For long term compliance, we have to want to do it. If we dont find enjoyment in exercise, it will be hard to make it a long-term habit.
There are so many ways to exercise, we certainly can find an activity that interests us. The combination of strength training and cardiorespiratory exercise is the perfect combination for long-term fitness.
They can be accomplished through a variety of modes: Water sports, racquet sports, weight training, running and yoga the list goes on.
We need to try different fitness offerings until we find the one that excites us to the point that its part of the day we look forward to. The rate of long-term compliance is much higher if we find enjoyment in what we do.
We often are told, hear or read that we should exercise with regularity, and the sooner we employ the need to, have to and want to of exercise the better health well experience.

With Support From The Hartford, Move United Develops Fitness Kits For Individuals With Physical Disabilities To Stay Active and Healthy At Home – PR…
Approximately 61 million Americans have a disability and often face greater obstacles to healthy living, including access to equipment, Move United Executive Director Glenn Merry
ROCKVILLE, Md. (PRWEB) December 14, 2020
When the Coronavirus pandemic hit the nation back in March 2020, many gyms, sports facilities, and adaptive sports programs across the country had to shutter operations. To fill the gap, Move United launched the #AdaptAtHome Fitness Kit so individuals with physical disabilities can stay active and healthy while safe at home. For thousands of individuals with physical disabilities, these local programs serve as a primary means for them to maintain their physical and mental health.
The #AdaptAtHome Athlete Fitness Kits include simple to use items such as an exercise band, cordless jump rope, ball, towel slider, a buff face mask, and a Move United t-shirt. Each kit has an estimated value of $100, which was underwritten in part by The Hartford.
By the end of December, over 1,500 fitness kits will enrich the lives of individuals with physical disabilities who need equipment in order to exercise at home. Move Uniteds digital resource library features various recorded fitness sessions, including equipment demonstrations, exercises and workouts that showcase how each item in the fitness kit can be utilized.
Approximately 61 million Americans have a disability and often face greater obstacles to healthy living, including access to equipment, said Move United Executive Director Glenn Merry. With the support of The Hartford, we are able to ensure individuals with physical disabilities have access to fitness equipment during this pandemic so they can stay active and healthy at home.
The Hartford has been an advocate for the adaptive sports movement and sponsor of athletes with disabilities for more than 25 years. As a leading provider of disability insurance, the company has a long-held belief that sports are an important part of physical rehabilitation following a disabling illness or injury. In 2019, the company created its Ability Equipped program to make adaptive sports and equipment more accessible to youth and adults with disabilities.
Move United is the national leader in community adaptive sports with 200 member organizations in 43 states. Each year, the national nonprofit provides 100,000 youth and adults with disabilities the opportunity to experience the life-changing power of sport.

Roger Federer gives fitness update as he admits ‘it will be tight’ to be fit for Australian Open – Tennis365
He has made steady progress since undergoing a second knee operation, but Roger Federer admits he is in a race against time to be fit for the Australian Open.
The 20-time Grand Slam winner first underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee at the end of February and pencilled in the grass-court season as a possible return date. However, after a setback he was forced to undergo second operation and June.
After initially revealing in October that he had returned to training and was targeting the 2021 Australian Open as his comeback event, Federer told local Swiss media on Sunday that he is no longer certain about his return date.
I would have hoped that I would be 100% in October. But I am still not today. It will be tight for the Australian Open, he said.
The second knee operation was a huge damper, but in the last six months there has been steady progress.
Lets see how the next two months will unfold. Ive been doing a lot of physio and physical work lately, now lets see how tennis is doing.
The 2021 Australian Open start date is set to be pushed back to 8 February from its original 18 January slot due to the coronavirus pandemic and the 39-year-old admits the extra time off would be good for him.
Its a race against time for the Australian Open. Im curious to see whether it will start on February 8, he added.
Of course, it would help if I had a bit more time.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise – TrustedReviews
Verdict
This is a great exercise experience for Nintendo Switch that makes excellent use of its motion controls, although the game doesn't introduce quite enough changes to stand out from its predecessor.
Ring Fit Adventure redefined expectations for traditional fitness experiences in gaming, showing that the genre can be much more than strict recreations of existing exercises in a bland, poppy setting, but Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise sits somewhere between the two.
The original Fitness Boxing offered a genuinely effective workout while providing players with enough creative exercises to remain engaged for hours. Despite this, it felt somewhat artificial compared to its contemporaries. But it was still incredible amounts of fun, and its sequel maintains that mantra in a number of engaging ways.
Rhythm and Exercise maintains the same basic mechanic, modes and visual aesthetic of its predecessor, simply aiming to expand upon it with a greater variety of workouts and customisation for your selection of virtual trainers. Its an enticing experience that offers a sufficient workout, even if it isnt the best fitness outing you can find on Nintendo Switch right now.
Related: Best Nintendo Switch Games
Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm and Exercise is controlled entirely with motion controls, with the player holding a Joy-Con in each hand to register punches, thrusts and general movements of your upper body. Jabs, uppercuts and straights are registered with surprising accuracy, more so for those who are willing to move their body to the rhythm of each song.
It feels great, and continues to be one of the platforms best examples of modern motion controls, although Id recommend wearing wrist straps to avoid flinging a stray punch directly into your television. Fitness Boxing is undeniably simplistic compared to Ring Fit Adventure, but it keeps you engaged with a frenetic pace that constantly switches up what routines are expected of you.
The opening moments are surprisingly relaxed as you pick a trainer, fill in your details and slowly but surely come to terms with the first round of exercises. Within moments I felt like a fledgling boxer, performing rhythmic movements with ease. Unfortunately, my confidence was knocked upon entering my first daily workout.

Daily Workouts are very much the crux of Fitness Boxing, acting as the core incentive for players to return each day to complete an extensive routine to lose calories and hone their technique. My regular sessions lasted roughly 40 minutes, combining 10-minute rhythm routines with adequate times for warming up and stretching.
Im no exercise master, and as such I vastly underestimated the physical endurance required to swing ones arms constantly for over 40 minutes. Turns out its quite a lot, and within the first week or so I was left and a battered and broken gamer as my trainer lauded praise upon me as I crossed the finish line. I felt excellent, so the effort was arguably worth the end result.
Fitness Boxing does a great job of making you feel rewarded, with the in-game achievement system monitoring even the smallest of accolades and adding them to a virtual gallery. Im a sucker for tracking my progress like this, and small little icons reminding me that I just needed to stay strong and keep pushing forward made a newcomer like me feel welcome.

Personal customisation is a huge component of Fitness Boxing, and that doesnt always relate to the exercise routines youll be jumping into. Trainers come in all different shapes, sizes and genders offering you a solid range of motivational eye candy to ogle while throwing punches towards the screen.
Existing athletes from past games return alongside a couple of newcomers, although the voice acting on offer is definitely a mixed bag. I will admit that staying on my toes for over 40 minutes was a bit of a push when the trainer hurling commands at me was speaking with the emotional expression of a brick wall. Its laughably monotone, and can make the whole experience feel coincidentally robotic.
Luckily, visual customisation is far more compelling. Trainers can be customised with an endless assortment of clothing to depict them as true fitness experts or someone who accidentally backflipped into a bin outside of Sports Direct. You can be as faithful to the sport as you like, or opt for something far more ridiculous.
Routines can also be altered to your liking. If you arent a fan of a certain exercise or routine, simply change it out for something else. The time of each workout can also be changed to fit your playstyle, slowly increased or decreased depending on personal goals or simply how youre feeling on a certain day. Theres a great level of accessibility here, and youre seldom penalised for missing a day or not sticking to a regular schedule.

Those who played the original Fitness Boxing might be underwhelmed by what the sequel offers. Its a fairly barebones expansion which maintains the same mechanics, aesthetic and overall design. The game feels like complimentary content as opposed to something that builds upon the existing foundations. As a result, the soundtrack is arguably the biggest draw here, and fortunately its filled with bangers.
Darudes Sandstorm, Swedish House Mafias Dont You Worry Child and Katy Perrys Hot N Cold are just a few of the excellent hits crammed into Fitness Boxing 2, each of which have been altered somewhat to take full advantage of the rhythm-based gameplay. Theres always a possibility for downloadable content in the future, unless Nintendo decides to throw out Fitness Boxing 3 in 2021 with a similar, iterative approach.
Fitness Boxing 2 is a great exercise experience for Nintendo Switch that makes excellent use of its motion controls, although the game doesnt introduce quite enough changes to stand out from its predecessor.
Fortunately, an excellent soundtrack, generous amount of content and mechanics that make it appealing to both newcomers and experts alike help it shine in the end.

Pump it up: Get the Activ5 low-impact full-body fitness gadget for just $100 – CNET
Activbody
Activbody describes the Activ5 as "a tiny gym in your pocket," and it's a fist-size strength-training device in the shape of a puck. The Activ5 measures compressive force when you press the two sides together with some part of your body, such as the palms of your hands, or your hand and thigh, or even by pressing down with your foot. It's designed to be used in short workouts throughout the day, and it's pocket-size, so you can use it anywhere. Usually $140, you can get Activ5 for $99right now, no code or coupon required. It's listed for a discounted $109 on the product page, but you get an exclusive additional $10 off when you get to checkout. (If the price isn't $99, add promo code CNET manually.)
I've been using the Activ5 for a while now and it's become a standard part of my daily fitness routine. It pairs with your phone and reacts to the hundred or so workouts you can choose in categories like Office & Travel, Full Body, Upper Body, Lower Body and Core. You can do an entire workout -- it ranges from about 4 to 7 minutes, depending on the one you choose -- or just jump into specific exercises, each of which is generally about 30 seconds long.
Performing the exercises is easy and, inasmuch as any exercise can be fun, this one sort of is. The app tells you exactly what you need to do and shows you some photos to eliminate any ambiguity. A typical exercise might include holding the puck between your hands while extending your arms straight out in front of you, alternately pressing your hands together and resting, based on a follow-the-bouncing-ball style visual. You're not just exerting your muscles, you're trying to do it precisely so the virtual ball stays on a specific course, with just the right amount of power. It's like working out to Flappy Bird.
Does this really deliver a meaningful workout? I'm neither a doctor nor a physical trainer, but the Activ5 really does induce an invigorating burn when I power through a 5-minute workout, and it does give me the impression that I'm doing some meaningful weight-training without needing weights. It feels like the missing ingredient in my own workout that already includes 20 minutes of the virtual reality Supernatural app and 20 minutes on the elliptical.
If you want to try it out for yourself, you might want to grab it soon, since this deal expires Dec. 14.

Best health and fitness gifts for 2020 – The Robesonian
December 11, 2020
BOSTON Pan-Mass Challenge founder Billy Starr knew early on he wouldnt be able to get 10,000 people together this summer for the annual cross-state bike ride that over four decades has raised more than $700 million for cancer treatment and research.
He also knew he couldnt just take the year off.
When the pandemic forced other sports-related fundraisers to cancel or drastically lower their goals, the PMC went virtual and delivered $50 million for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. The money helped the hospital pay for personal protective equipment, continue with clinical trials and other care, and even went toward rent or groceries for patients who couldnt just wait until the virus outbreak was over.
Cancers not going to stop just because we have a pandemic, Dana-Farber President and CEO Laurie Glimcher said. The Pan-Mass Challenge didnt stop either, thanks to Billy.
In disrupting the world of sports and virtually every other aspect of life, the pandemic also upended athletic fundraising all those walkathons, underwear runs and video game challenges that charitable causes need to pay for their work. Many of the events saw a decrease of 40-50%, according to David Hessekiel, who tracks the multibillion-dollar peer-to-peer fundraising industry.
The Pan-Mass Challenge brought in $63 million last year, with every penny going to Dana-Farber. Although the total went down this year for the first time since the 2009 recession, $50 million is really impressive, said Hessekiel, the founder of the Peer-To-Peer Professional Forum.
This year, none of (the riders) were able to do it, and yet they were still able to raise $50 million, he said. And its done in the context of a field that has been devastated.
The nations largest single-event athletic fundraiser, the PMC began in 1977 when Starr and a few friends rode to the tip of Cape Cod in memory of his mother, who died of melanoma at the age of 49. Since then, it has grown to an annual event with more than 10,000 volunteers and riders on 12 routes ranging from 25 to 192 miles.
As the virus outbreak spread this spring, though, organizers announced they would go virtual: Instead of riding from Sturbridge to Provincetown, or some part of it, participants in the PMC Reimagined would climb on their bicycles at their own chosen time, on their own chosen course.
And instead of organizing a ride that had grown somewhat routine, Starr wasnt sure what to expect.
There aint no well-oiled machine about this, Starr said. This is new landscape. Nobody knew what this was going to be.
To maintain some semblance of the event that riders had grown accustomed to 87% return the next year, with some coming back for decades the PMC livestreamed an opening ceremony and other festivities. The jerseys and other swag riders usually pick up at registration were mailed.
Everything that you could do in a socially distancing world, we did, Starr said. We kept our people alive and kept our mission front and center, so that when our weekend came around, people got on their bikes.
They also lowered their fundraising goal to $41 million, an amount that seemed fitting for the rides 41st year.
We thought it would be ambitious, Star said.
Instead, more than 6,800 riders raised an average of about $6,500 each. Another 1,650 people brought in a total of $3 million without ever getting on a bike part of a virtual rider program that had been a small part of the PMC since 1997 but was greatly expanded this year.
Glimcher said the PMC money helped Dana-Farber maintain the clinical trials that are the best option for as many as one in five cancer patients; it was one of the only cancer centers that did not need to suspend trials during the pandemic. (The PMC also made a $4 million donation to Dana-Farber in the spring a down payment of sorts to help ramp up the use of telemedicine and pay for urgently needed PPE.)
We really did not lose a beat, said Glimcher, who has ridden in the event every year since 2016 and took part this year in memory of her mother, who died of lung cancer. Thats a lifesaver for many people. To not be able to do that would have been awful.
Thats why Starr is already looking to 2021.
In a letter scheduled to go out to riders this week, he said organizers are hoping to get back onto the streets next year though in reduced numbers. There will be no large gatherings at the hubs, meals will be grab-and-go, and the PMC will not provide showers or massages.
But, he hopes, it will look like the PMC again.
We kept our community together. People felt connected and engaged and never lost sight of the cause, Starr said. They were grateful that we didnt quit, and they didnt either. But wed rather be together.
It spoke to what we were missing, which is what the world is missing. Its part of being a human being, he said. I miss it terribly.

RI fitness facilities band together, plead with Raimondo to let them reopen – WPRI.com
CRANSTON, R.I. (WPRI) Gov. Gina Raimondo has extended the statewide pause for another week, and among those most directly impacted are fitness and recreational facilities.
Fitness facility owners tell 12 News the pause is basically shutting down their business for an entire month, with Christmas week now the expected time they will be able to reopen.
Dozens of fitness facilities are now banding together to plea with the governor to reopen.
Never have we ever lost control over our small business, TLC Performing Arts Co-owner Tracy Ciccone Ditroia said. We need to open to stay in business.
Owner of Dream Big Gymnastics Shannon Cornicelli tells 12 News her goal of expanding her studio has been shut down.
I feel like we are being picked on, Cornicelli said. Shes doing something to the smaller businesses, maybe the people with fewer employees.
Now, 50 small businesses that fall under the states indoor sports category are demanding to be considered essential. Attorney Stephen Antonucci is lobbying on their behalf to negotiate with the governor.
We want to be a part of the solution, Antonucci said. We want to work with the governors staff, with commerce, DBR, we want to open these folks back up safely, but just to blanket close these businesses is unfair.
The businesses are sending a letter to the state and have several online petitions demanding change.
Ciccone Ditroia said the final straw was seeing hundred of people pack together at the mall on Saturday. She says her average dance class is eight children, and they have been taking every precaution.
Temperature checks, COVID screenings, they are way more than six-feet apart from each other, they all wear a mask for every class, Ciccone Ditroia said. I have a viewing window, where I removed the glass so that we can open the windows and get cross ventilation.
Also in Cranston, World Martial Arts has a similar story.
Weve followed all the rules from the beginning, Owner David Babits said. We have one entrance in, one entrance out. We have over 4,000-square-feet, so we are able to safely spread everyone out. Through this entire time, we had zero cases of COVID.
The business owners said the now three-week pause is affecting much more than their small business.
Were essential to kids and adults physical, emotional and mental health, Babits said.
Cornicelli said they have high-level athletes who are falling behind compared to other states with open gyms.
They are vying for D1 scholarships throughout the country, she said. They are not going to be able to be competitive if we continue this shutdown any longer.
401 Strength and Fitness Owner Emerson Kilgore offers football strength training, he says the physical aspect is big, but the mental aspect is being overlooked.
My gym was an outlet where young men could come in and really work and do their thing and again its taken away, Kilgore said. Then possibly not get the opportunity to showcase their talent for colleges or whatever next level they want to go to is unfortunate.
Kilgore said there should be a difference in categorization, between small fitness facilities and large franchised gyms.
I am getting called every day and I have video of my little ones asking me to open up, Ciccone Ditroia said. This is their second home to a lot of kids that may not be accepted in other places. Now, you take this away and they are home all day and feeling depressed.
The business owners tell 12 News they would be open to getting regular inspections, or limited capacity restrictions, over being forced to close completely.

Seven easy fitness hacks that’ll make you healthier by tomorrow morning – British GQ
We all know that great fitness takes hard work, sacrifice, and dedication. That's why we hate it. No one innately wakes up at 5 a.m. to run 12 miles, or chooses quinoa over pizza, or picks washing dishes over dessertand if you do, congratulations on winning gold in Rio. Thankfully, with just a few tricks you can do right now, you can actually get healthier and fitter by tomorrow morning. (And they're backed by science!) You won't wake up with a Gosling-grade six-pack, but you feel better. Maybe even good enough to go on that run.
1. Try a warmer, greener juiceWhat if we told you that you could drink something that would prevent cancer, reduce heart disease risk, help you lose weight, and boost exercise performance. Sounds good, right? Drink a cup of matcha in the morning for maximum benefits.
2. Stretch and use a foam roller before bedPrep yourself before bed by doing a few minutes of light foam rolling and stretching: You'll release those chronically tight and tender muscles, relieve tension, and prime your body for a morning workout. Which you're totally going to do this time, for sure.
3. Power off, literallyElectronics hurt sleep because the blue-tinted light simulates day and keeps your brain awake. Instead, read something solida book, or maybe a great magazine. If phone withdrawal kicks in, set your screen's to turn yellow once the sun goes down (on iPhone, turn on Night Shift in Settings, under Display & Brightness; on Android download the Twilight app).
4. Pop a pillIn general, supplements and one-a-day vitamins aren't that useful, but a few targeted pills will kick-start your body. Fish oilwhich is definitely an oil made from fishis packed with omega 3 fatty acids that help with everything from your heart to losing fat. Then pop some zinc and magnesium. Zinc boosts your immune system and testosterone. And magnesium is one of the few deficiencies people do suffer from nowadays. That's a problem because it's crucial to a whole mess of important biological systems, like your metabolism and, you know, your ability to have a kid.
5. Get some sunHaving enough vitamin D means you have less risk for diabetes, heart disease, and prostate cancer. Plus, it'll increase your testosterone and help you sleep both faster and deeper. Chug all the milk you want, but the best way to get some Dyeah, yeah, very funnyis to walk outside. Just go sit in the sun. That's it. Go, now.
6. Make your bedroom into a cavernFirst, walk over to the thermostat. Your body likes a lower temperature while it's sleeping, and a chillier roomsay, low-to-mid-60swill help it fall asleep faster, too. Then get dark. Light screws up your sleep patterns, so buy a sleep mask, invest in blackout shades, or go all Mr. Robot and hack the municipal power gridwhatever's easiest for blocking out that neighbour across the street with the klieg lamp lighting.
7. Kick off your kicks once you're in the houseYour feet are home to 25 percent of your bones and a massive network of ligaments and nerves. By walking barefoot more, you'll improve your foot mechanics and decrease the pressure on your hips and knees. You'll also increase the range of motion of your ankle, which can prevent injuries and save you some embarrassing moment while playing pickup basketball.
