Summer training is great, especially if you can run on a sandy beach in Ibiza, barefoot. Any other times, we tend to forget the flies, the blistering heat and humidity, the copious amount of sweat and basically all the features that indeed come with running in hot weather.
Running during winter is a glorious feeling, though. Those crisp Sunday mornings, when the weather is dry and cold, the sun shines bright orange and it's just you and the road...nothing can beat the tranquillity of those running sessions.
As peaceful as winter running is, you still need to wrap your body parts up appropriately so your joints and muscles won't get hurt. Warming up before each session is also a good thought and keeping the warmth in during runs is an even better idea.
You can't just chuck on a woolly jumper on top and expect it to work and you not to get too hot. The garments on this list have been tried and tested to work perfectly in cold conditions and to provide you maximum breathability, insulation and comfort.

There are a few criteria winter running gear need to comply with. Putting on a parka and thick skying trousers won't cut it, I'm afraid. Not only they will make you feel way hotter than needed, they will also restrict your movement' none of which is a desired thing when you run.
Winter running jackets and tops need to be warm enough so you won't feel cold at the beginning of your runs but not too warm so you'll feel toasted by the end of the session. This is achieved by applying a few thin layers of insulation and them having a close fit.
Running tights need to be, well, tight enough but not heavy so even if they get slightly wet, they won;t weigh your legs down. Winter running tights tend to be more solid than their everyday counterparts, to protect you from wind and all the other elements.
Accessories can also come handy, because as we know, it's all about layering when it comes to winter clothing. Lightweight neck warmers and beanie hats you can take off and shove in your pocket if needed are a great addition and can help you bridge the initial transition period of your runs.
Always check the weather before you head out and dress accordingly. Being mindful about winter exercising always pays off!

Plant-based burgers are big business.
After introducing the Impossible Whopper, a version of their iconic burger made with a 100-percent plant-based Impossible Burger patty, Burger King had their best quarter in four years.
Due to the fact it comes topped with mayonnaise and that the patties are cooked on the same grill as Burger King's traditional beef burgers, the Impossible Whopper isn't vegan.
However, there's no arguing its popularity.
Jose Cil, CEO of Restaurant Brands, Burger King's parent company, recently called the Impossible Whopper one of the most successful rollouts in Burger King's 65-year history.
Plant-based diets have never been hotter, nor more closely associated with good health. Most people assume that swapping out a beef burger for a burger made from plants is a no-brainer nutritional upgrade.
But when it comes to nutrition facts, just how different are these plant-based fast food burgers from their traditional versions?
The short answer: not very.
Consider that Burger King's standard Whopper contains 660 calories, 12 grams of saturated fat, 11 grams of sugar and 980 milligrams of sodium.
The Impossible Whopper contains just 30 fewer calories, 1 fewer gram of saturated fat, an extra gram of sugar, and 100 more milligrams of sodium.
There's little-to-no meaningful difference between the two burgers in terms of their nutrition facts, so swapping one for the other is unlikely to help you lose weight.
And it's not just Burger King, either.
Carl's Jr. is another large chain restaurant which has rolled out plant-based burgers. Their Beyond Famous Star with Cheese features a 100-percent plant-based Beyond Burger patty. Again, it's not vegan, but Carl's Jr. calls it "a healthier option especially for those that do not want to sacrifice burgers but want to eat less meat."
Yet this "healthier option" packs 710 calories and 1550mg of sodium.
While it contains no saturated fat, that's 40 more calories and 340mg more sodium than a Famous Star with Cheese prepared with an all-beef patty.
And consider this: the five main ingredients in an Impossible Burger are water, soy-protein concentrate, coconut oil, sunflower oil and natural flavors. The five main ingredients in a Beyond Burger are water, pea protein isolate, expeller-pressed canola oil, refined coconut oil and rice protein.
So while they're technically "plant-based," it's not like you're chomping on ground-up carrots and kale.
The closer vegetables are to their whole, natural forms, the better they are for you, and what vegetables are in these plant-based burgers are not very close to their natural forms.
Furthermore, health concerns associated with overconsumption of red meat have been muddled by recent research.
"There is no strong evidence linking red meat to disease in humans," concluded Healthline's Kris Gunnars in a recent review of the topic. Burger King switching to grass-fed beef would be an undoubted upgrade for your health, but the impact of going from a normal Whopper to an Impossible Whopper is a bit less clear.
There are many noble reasons someone would like to minimize their meat intake, but if you're automatically categorizing plant-based foods as being "healthier" for you, you should remember that fast food is still fast foodeven if it's plant-based.
Instead of falling prey to perceptions and marketing, it's best to always check the nutrition facts and do your own research.

The Bloodhound LSR Project Makes It To 501 MPH – Jalopnik
The newly revitalized Bloodhound LSR project has appeared back on the automotive scene in a big way. A year ago, this whole make it to 1,000 mphthing seemed doomed to fail. But now, the supersonic car has rocketed firmly over the halfway markand theres a damn good chance driver Andy Green can actually take it all the way.
Going from zero to 1,000 is as absurd as it is dangerous, so the Bloodhound crew has been slowly gearing up with a series of practice runs designed to hit more manageable targets. Think of it like setting a goal to lose weight; its way healthier and way more achievable to break things up in tinier chunks!
But today is a big one for the LSR. Today it hit 501 mph, which you can watch (in 5x slow motion) below:
This run firmly settles the Bloodhound LSR in the top ten fastest cars in the world, The Verge reports, and the next big target to hit is 763.035 mph, which is the fastest-ever land speed record set by driver Andy Green back in 1997. And then its on to the big four-digit leagues.
I think its safe to say that getting to 500 mph was the easy part. Theres a reason why no one has beaten Greens record in the last 22 years, and thats because its really freakin hard to design and build a machine capable of going that fast without everything falling apart. But if theres anyone who can do it, its going to be this crew.

Powerful Technique #1: Intermittent Fasting
If you cant lose weight, intermittent fasting might be effective for you. Intermittent fasting is going for several hours without eating. Its a hormone-friendly action that triggers the main fat-burning hormone and forces your body to use up your stored fat.
When people hear the word fasting, they think they have to go on a hunger strike rather than on a weight loss diet. Intermittent fasting simply uses strategic timing to cut caloric intake and burn calories and fat faster by passing on meals you don't need to eat in the first place.
For example, we were led to believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day as a result of an old marketing campaign from breakfast cereal companies. Adjust your eating cycles and put intermittent fasting into action. You can choose from different intermittent fasting options picking the one that works best for you. My system, as prescribed, follows three simple steps:

Ketogenic eating can also help you if you cant lose weight. It refers to a moderate-protein, high-fat, and no-sugar diet. This means cutting out refined carbohydrates and sugars completely no bread, no pasta, no rice, and no potatoes. You can, however, keep eating vegetable carbohydrates.
By cutting sugary and processed foods and adding fatty foods like eggs, nuts, avocados, and even cheese, you feel fuller and have fewer cravings. You can go longer without eating. When there are no sugars left to be used as fuel, your body is forced to burn its own fat reserves for energy, preventing you from gaining weight.
