Researchers from Northwestern University got 54 adults in Chicago to wear wrist trackers to record their exposure to light and their sleep habits for a week.

Alongside this, they all kept a food diary so the researchers could count up their calorie intake.

They also counted for activity level, age, caloric intake, season and sleep habits.

Results revealed that the earlier in the day the participants were exposed to light, the lower their body mass index (BMI) was.

In fact, BMI rose by a whopping 1.28 points for every hour light exposure was delayed.

I used to believe that some event would magically change my life, such as winning the lottery or finding a job that pays more. I was not sure what the event was, but I was hoping that it would happen soon. I wanted to have a better life, but I left it to destiny.

I wanted a quick fix for my mediocre life. I did not realize that my life was mediocre because I was mediocre. I thought that my destiny was already set and that I had no control over it.

Many of us have this mentality, and we want life to be better even though we don't better ourselves. Losing weight, for example, has become a million-dollar industry. There are lotions, belts, easy exercise programs, diets, supplements, surgeries, hormones, therapy, pills, earrings and many other things. A famous publicity slogan is "Give the customers what they're looking for." Therefore, we find that the customer is looking for "fast and easy" even though it neither works nor is sustainable.

Many people want to win the lottery thinking it will get them out of their misery, and others want a fast and easy way to lose weight. Yes, a few do win the lottery and some do lose weight fast, but soon we find these people poor again or regaining the weight or even putting on more weight.

The lesson I learned is very simple: If I want a better life, body, family, business, career, financial status or mind I need to become better than who I am right now.

After 28 years of mediocre life, finally the event that needed to happen happened, but it was not what I had planned. However, what I learned was more important than winning the lottery. I learned that if I wanted an above-average life I needed to become an above-average person. Before this realization, if I would have won the lottery, I would have ended up just like Mike Tyson.

Mike Tyson made more than one quarter of a billion dollars, yet he ended up poor. How could he have spent so much money? It's simple: Just like the person who loses weight by surgery or some promising therapy and regains it in months or a couple of years, Mike Tyson did not become above average in his life. He did not develop the habits to maintain what he made.

The lesson I learned is very simple: If I want a better life, body, family, business, career, financial status or mind I need to become better than who I am right now. Hence, if you are looking to lose weight or be financially free or have a better job, you must work on yourself. One of the things that does not seem to work is looking for an extraordinary body, job or life without becoming extraordinary. I was frustrated for many years doing that until I decided to work on myself.

The best investment you can make in life is in yourself. This is so powerful that it's worth repeating: The best investment you can make in life is in yourself. So if you are ready to have a better body, career or life, start working on yourself step by step. Find out what you need to work on to get what you need or want and determine the habits you need to sustain such body, career and overall life.

There is no better life-changing event than the one you are willing to make.

So, as your body is used to urinate a lot due to drinking of water, you will continue urinating even without drinking any water. The food you will eat will also suck the water from your body. This will cause the body to lose water and bring down the weight. The actor drank about 10 liters of water a day and then stopped drinking it 30 hours before the shoot. So, for the next 10 hours, he was urinating frequently.

However the actor has warned against trying this method without supervisionas it is not very healthy. It leads to side effects like headache among other things. He also mentioned that he was eating a meal consisting of steamed chicken and broccoli every two hours to maintain his toned body. He was eating a total of 6500 calories a day.

So while this extreme diet might give you a physique like Hugh Jackman, know that this cannot be taken lightly and must not be done without supervision.

Don’t worry about how many calories you burn during sex it’s not about losing weight – Metro

Every month or so, I see it: yet another article telling me the best sex positions for burning sh*t loads of calories.

Because sex is a fun way to exercise, right? More fun than running on a treadmill, anyway.

And we all know that if somethings fun, we should slap a number on it, start timing, and make sure that whatever the activity is, itsproductive, not just enjoyable.

Thats why I know that if I want to tone my bum and legs, I should opt for cowgirl position (even if its total sh*t). If I want to engage my core, doggys the way to go. If I want to build strength, I should do it standing up.

If Im trying to lose weight, I need to make sure the sex Im having is energetic, fast, and with plenty of thrusting. If I really want to do tone up, I can do lunges mid-sex.

This knowledge is, quite frankly, pretty bloody depressing.

The last thing I want to be thinking about during sex is my body-related insecurities, losing weight, and the three pastries I had for lunch.

Sex is supposed to be aboutfun. Its supposed to be about being in the moment, forgetting about everything else, and focusing on whoever youre having sex with and all the pleasure youre (hopefully) feeling.

The second you frame sex as a way to lose weight and stack up your activity count for the day, youre missing the point.

The minute youre timing sex, youre not in the moment.

Once you start choosing positions based on how many calories they burn instead of how good they feel, youre missing out on pleasure.

And if youre viewing sex as a way to fit in some exercise, rather than something you actually want to do just for the fun of it, youre making sex a chore.

Which is a massive shame.

Sex is one of the few pleasures in life that as long as the people doing it are consensual adults and no ones getting hurt we can enjoy without having to worry about doing things right or making sure what were doing is productive.

Sex is something far away from work and all the other errands adults have to do. Its something we do purely for enjoyment (unless were trying to procreate, which is a whole other load of stress).

Trying to smush it into our fitness routines, our calorie counting, and the pressure to always be doingsomethingthats good for us ruins the fun of sex.

Its a great idea to try to make health and fitness fun, and to burn calories doing something you enjoy. And Id never bash anyone for doing that instead of forcing themselves through circuit training or spinning.

But there are some things that need to be kept separate and your fitness routine and sex are part of that.

Because much in the same way that making dancing your exercise routine instead of just something you do for fun makes it feel like a drag, the same is true for sex.

If youre one of those people who loves working out as in, truly, honestly loves the feeling of exercising youre probably not counting calories too closely.

You run because you love the feeling of your feet hitting the pavement. You play football because you love it. Yes, you box because you know its good for you, but also because you love how it makes youfeel.

If youre working out just to tot up a calories-burned count, it feels more like a chore. Youre not thinking: ooh, this is fun. Youre thinking: how much longer do I have to do this until Im done?

And while that may be okay for Zumba (we do all need to get some exercise in, so its okay to do something you dont enjoy just to stay healthy), sex doesnt deserve this kind of disrespect.

How would you feel if the person you were having sex with was tracking it on their Fitbit? How would you feel knowing that while youre enjoying waves of pleasure, your partners timing each thrust, adding up the calories, and telling themselves that theyll be able to skip the oblique twists if they keep going for five more minutes?

Not great, we imagine.

By turning sex into a way to burn calories, we take away the joy of sex for sexs sake. We make it into something we have to do. We turn it into just another thing on our to-do list, because we just cant relax and do nothing that isnt taking us closer to our goals.

Its rude to our partners, who are more than just exercise machines, but more importantly, its a way to cheat yourself out of sexual joy.

Sex is great. Its pure pleasure. Its not something that needs to be done, its not a target to be ticked off or an achievement to unlock.

We need to stop trying to repurpose sex into another way to fulfill our goal-obsessed, pressured needs.

Enjoy the fact that yes, a really great sex session is good for your health. But dont turn it into yet another thing that you track, analyse, and change to burn as many calories as possible.

Keep your calorie counting to where it belongs: when youre eating or when youre doing a workout purely for the sake of working out.

Calorie counting is mostly miserable. Sex is brilliant. Never should the two meet.

Chelsea Pateman, 23, would splash 40 to 50 per order on home delivery Pizza Hut orders with husband Matt and the pair enjoyed gorging on fast food up to four times a week.

The early years practitioner, who scoffed more than half a loaf of white bread, four chocolate bars and four packets of crisps a day, unsurprisingly ballooned to 14st 7lbs.

Chelsea, from Crewe, Cheshire, was mortified when she saw pictures of her huge body after a holiday to Poland - and was inspired to lose a whopping 5st 9lbs in just 15 months.

The stepmum-of-one said: "Matt and I were comfortable in our relationship and we used to binge eat on unhealthy food together.

Soon the couch potato's weight rose to 14st 7lbs and she wore a size 20 to 22.

Chelsea joined Slimming World in July the same year and began losing weight at the rate of about a stone a month.

By November 2015 svelte Chelsea had reached her lowest weight of 8st 8lbs and now wears slinky size eight to 10 clothes although in some styles she even fits into a size six.

She enjoyed a family holiday to Majorca in April last year where she wore shorts and a bikini for the first time ever after covering up in leggings on previous beach breaks.

Chelsea now works out three times a week and enjoys cooking healthy curries, casseroles and stews.

"Last year's holiday was the first time I had ever worn a bikini and shorts, I used to wear leggings on the beach and on a previous holiday had to buy cycling shorts for under my dress because my inner thighs were chafing so badly while I walked.

"Now I look back at pictures of myself and can't believe that was me. Everyone says it's amazing and they can't believe how well I have done but I can't really remember being that big any more - all I have now are photographs to remind me.

Breakfast: Bacon sandwich on two slices of white bread, big bowl of Coco Pops, or skipped breakfast.

Lunch: Two ham sandwiches on four slices of white bread, two packets of crisps and a big bar of chocolate.

Dinner:Takeaway curry with rice, chips, poppadums and naan bread, large Pizza Hut pizza with sides or pie and chips.

Snacks: Two more chocolate bars, two more packets of crisps and cheese on toast on two slices of white bread.

Drinks: Three cans of Coca Cola a day, Vimto.

Breakfast: Fruit and yoghurt, poached eggs on wholemeal toast or a cooked breakfast with bacon with the fat removed.

Lunch: Ham sandwich with two slices of wholemeal bread or thins.

Dinner: Slimming World recipe curries, stews, casseroles, chillis and roasts cooked from scratch. SNACKS: Yoghurt, fruit, cereal bars.

Drinks: Water, coffee, one can of diet fizzy drink a day.

Does the 5:2 diet actually work and is it safe? One nutritionist spoke to Express.co.uk to discuss the diet.

Explaining how the diet works, Robert Brennan, fitness, lifestyle and nutrition consultant, said: "The 5:2 diet is simply eating what you would normally for five days of the week; and then restricting calorie intake on two days; 500 for women and 600 for men.

It is best not to count calories at all on the five non-fasting days and whilst it is not a requirement of the diet, I have found far greater results when clients, as well as observing the fast days, eat a generally healthy diet, free from processed foods and rich in vegetables and protein with plenty of water.

I wouldnt call this a diet but rather an eating pattern, as it doesnt prescribe what foods to eat.
