We know the struggles are real and we are here to help you. The first thing you need to know is that weight loss takes time it is a slow and steady progress that will pay off in the end. Including some healthy foods in your diet can help you lose weight. Kokum is one such food you can add to your diet.
Kokum, another name for Garcinia Indica, is a rich anti-oxidant fruit and is known for being the cure for acidity. It is native to the Western Ghats of India. It has a sweet, tangy taste and used largely in Indian cuisine. It is touted as a natural appetite suppressant that may help you in your journey to weight loss. It has the essential nutrients to shrink your appetite and help you get rid of extra kilos.
1- It contains a compound called Hydroxycitric acid aka HCA, which acts as an appetite suppressant, meaning it prevents cravings and manages hunger pangs.
2- The fruit is loaded with anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties, which helps boost the immune system. Excess weight can have a negative impact on your immunity, and getting your immune system to work better will allow your body to lose weight.
3- Kokum helps suppress fatty acid synthesis, reducing the conversion of food into fat. This helps prevent the build-up of fats in the body, thereby induce fat loss.
4- Obesity can lead to an increase in immune response, which can cause the body to generate excessive inflammation, which may lead to a number of chronic diseases. Garcinol, present in kokum, has anti-inflammatory properties which can help prevent inflammation in the body.
5- Weight loss success can be increased by improving the way your digestion system works. Kokum can help with digestion, as it helps fight conditions like acidity, flatulence and constipation.
How to include Kokam in your diet?
You can drink a glass of water mixed with kokum powder to avail the benefits or you can soak a whole kokum in water overnight, extract the juice and drink it. It can be stored for several days as well.

‘Every time my son came home he was bigger. Now I’m delighted slim James is back’ – Telegraph.co.uk
He changed into something more comfortable for the celebratory dinner, enjoyed the celebrations and the next day said he was going to lose weight.
I was absolutely thrilled but kept that to myself. Instead, I adopted the measured tones my mum used when I started losing weight and simply said: I think you suit being slim and fit much better than being heavy.
Every pound he reported lost I applauded him as did his dad and sisters. He went for healthy portion control and liked the routine of intermittent fasting and as his weight dropped his mood lifted. He changed his university course, stopped beer and takeaways and ended the unhappy relationship.
He embraced exercise again, both aerobic and weight training and we could see the toned, muscular young man starting to reappear. By the time lockdown started with our three youngest back home James was three stone down, and in the intervening period hes lost the last stone.
There was lots of cooking and more drinking than usual going on, but he didnt touch a drop of alcohol for over eightweeks, allowed himself a treat every Sunday and was a total encouragement and support to the rest of us. Many packages arrived with new smaller clothes but no-one begrudged him, especially since his good mood affected all of us.
Im not fattist when I say Im delighted slim, healthy James is back. I no longer worry about all the problems that come with being fat, from poor physical and mental health to bad self image. I love seeing him heading out for a run, or all dressed up for a night out. Weve agreed now to always talk about it, no matter how uncomfortable, if anyone gains weight again.
Body positivity should be encouraged, but its never an excuse for carrying far too much weight. Being fat yes, I use that word - has significant health risks, including premature death, and if vanity doesnt inspire weight-loss, being healthy should.
There are many reasons for people gaining weight, including poverty and being unable to cook, but we need to stop pretending that encouraging weight-loss is fat shaming. The two thirds of the population that are overweight and the 29 per centwho are morbidly obese need help to lose weight and keep it off.I recently interviewed a despairing cardiologist who said fat people risk ending up blind and limbless but no-one would quote him, or even condone his use of the word fat.
Its not fattist to want your children to be fit and healthy rather than fat and miserable, but Im not pretending its easy to lose weight. Im so proud of James, though I wish Id been brave enough to mention it when he was just a stone overweight and save him months of misery.

NHS Weight Loss Plan: What to Expect From the 12 Week Diet & Exercise Plan – Women’s Health
Heard of the NHS weight loss plan? It's the national roll out of a 12-week guide to losing weight in a healthy and sustainable way and will, hopefully, make the nation more resilient to COVID-19. At least, that's what the government hopes.
Free to access, this plan requires no previous exercise or diet experience, just the commitment to keep going, even when it feels tough. We believe in you, we just need you to believe in yourself!
The NHS weight loss plan is a 12-week guide to help people lose weight for good. Part of the government's push to tackle rising obesity levels and get people up and moving, the plan will help you keep track of your exercise, diet and weight loss. You can choose between an app or printable, downloadable PDFs.
The free to download NHS Weight Loss Plan app is available for iPhone and Android.
APP FOR IPHONE APP FOR ANDROID
Yep, 100% free. The app is designed to make sustainable weight loss accessible for all, which means you won't need to pay a penny to track your progress and learn new healthy habits.
From learning to make healthier food choices, to tracking your activity and progress as well as exercise plans to help lose weight, there are a number of features of the NHS weight loss plan designed to help you on your 12-week journey.
The plan is simple to follow and is designed to 'help you lose weight a safe rate of 0.5kg to 1kg (1lb to 2lb) each week by sticking to a daily calorie allowance.'
Broken down into weeks and days, there are certain targets to hit. Daily you'll be asked to record your total calorie intake, amount of minutes you've exercised and whether you've eaten five portions of fruit and veg over the course of the day.
Guideline daily calorie amounts vary but the NHS' guidelines state that women should consume 1400 kcal a day and men, 1900 kcal per day.
Weekly, you'll weigh in twice once at the beginning of the week and once at the end. You'll also be asked to record your waist measurement with a tape measure.
The app makes life slightly easier, in that it prompts you to record all the information in a simple way.
Firstly, you'll be asked to pick an answer that reflects why you want to lose weight. From 'I want to feel fitter and healthier' to 'I've been advised to lose weight', 'I've been diagnosed with a health condition', 'I have a special occasion to go to', or another reason you can write in, the plan says that 'thinking about your personal goals can help you be more successful'.
Whilst going to a special occasion doesn't seem like the most sustainable reason for trying to get to a healthy weight, whatever gets you started is great. Just remember, long term goals will keep you going for the long term and not just for wearing a big hat in a church.
Next up, you'll calculate your Body Mass Index (BMI). This will determine if your weight is in a healthy range based on your height, weight, age, ethnicity, and activity levels.
Research has shown that those with a BMI of 30 or over are doubly at risk of being hospitalised with coronavirus, hence the push to get the nation eating better and moving more. From this calculation the app will work out how many calories you should be consuming per day and suggest a healthy weight range for you to aim for.
But, before we get carried away with our BMI calculations, it is important to note that this measurement of health is an area of great contention between experts. Because it doesn't take lean muscle mass or body fat into account, someone who's shorter with more muscle (which is more dense than fat) could wrongly be diagnosed as being obese or having an unhealthy body mass index.
So, whilst BMI can be used as a guide remember there are other ways to measure health too investing in smart scales to check your body fat percentage or booking an appointment with a specialist could help you get a clearer picture.
Each day you'll be prompted to fill in your 'diary' this contains questions related to the food you've eaten, amount of fruit and vegetables you've consumed and if you've done any exercise and how long for. It's clean and simple to use and helps keep constant track of how you're going.
If you're at a loss as to what types of exercise you should do (and how long for) the NHS guidelines for adults aged 19-64 suggest that you should:
There's also a 'discover' section of the app packed full with articles on healthy eating, exercise, alcohol consumption, tips for success and maintaining your healthy weight loss.
And, once you've scoured all the info available on the app, check out other fitness apps that can help you count calories, log your activity or help look after your sleep hygiene.
The third section of the app is reserved for tracking your progress on a chart generated by the app. Your weekly weight and waist measurements are kept here to help make seeing your journey as a whole easier than ever.

When Vidya Balan revealed she was labelled as someone who brought ‘bad luck’ to the South film industry – PINKVILLA
This year, Vidya Balan will be returning to charm us as Shakuntala Devi in her upcoming film, but did you know she was once labelled as 'jinxed'.
Vidya Balan is one of the finest actors in Bollywood. Over the years, the actress has given some blockbuster hits and slipped in and out of characters with much ease. In her long career, Vidya Balan has also treated her fans with not just specific roles and characters, but gone a step further and even made risky as well as bold choices. From keeping us on the edge of the seat in Kahaani to her jaw-dropping performance in The Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan's last outing at the box office was the blockbuster hit Mission Mangal.
This year, Vidya will be returning to charm us as Shakuntala Devi with a film of the same name. In the biopic drama, Vidya will be essaying the role of Shakuntala Devi, popularly known as the 'human computer'. The first look of the film has intrigued many fans. The film will also star Jisshu Sengupta, Sanya Malhotra and Amit Sadh. Give the coronavirus crisis, the film will not be releasing in theatres but instead will make its way to a streaming platform. While we cannot wait to see Vidya take on a new avatar yet again, we must realise that the actress did not always have it easy.
Turns out, the actress did not have anything going for her when she first started out in the South Indian film industry. Words such as 'bad luck' and 'jinxed' were often used for the actress and she had also opened up about same in an interview last year to Filmfare. Much before Vidya's Bollywood debut with Parineeta, the actress actively pursued a film career down South.
In fact, her first film was opposite Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and the actress evens signed for 12 projects post that. But as fate had it, the film unfortunately got shelved. As per reports, a Mohanlal film getting shelved raised much eyebrows back in the day and the actress was subsequently dropped from all films, labelling her as 'bad luck'.
Speaking about this rejection and the failure she has faced so far, Vidya once told Filmfare, "It angers you to be told that youre unlucky. Or that you arent good enough. During Begum Jaan, I harnessed all the anger I felt for all these years. I was carrying the anger of rejection, the judgement around my body, the criticism around my dressing. Ive been called jinxed down South. I rejected my body all my life. I worked hard at accepting myself. That acceptance isnt complete yet. Its still a long way. People dont understand that when you grow up a fat girl, it doesnt leave you."
Over the years, Vidya has not shied away from speaking about weight issues or maintaining a certain image just because she is a celebrity. She has often smashed these stereotypes and addressed hormonal issues she has gone through. "Ive had hormonal problems all my life. Its probably because of the judgement Ive carried around my body. When I was a teenager, people would tell me, Youve got such a pretty face, why dont you lose some weight? Its not a nice thing to say to anyone. Be it a child or a grown-up. So, Id starve myself, Id go through crazy exercise regimens and lose weight. Then the hormonal issue would settle for a bit before it reared its head again."
The actress had also revealed that she stopped looking at the montior years ago since she was dealing with body image issues. "I guess it was my bodys way of revolting because in wanting it to be what it was not, I was constantly rejecting it. Theres no machine as smart as your body. Its the only machine that has emotional intelligence. So even at my thinnest, Ive always felt fat. Weight loss, weight gain, weight loss, weight gain was my pattern for as long as I can remember. Years ago, I stopped watching my shots on the monitor at shoots because Id look at the monitor and be thinking, Am I looking fat?"
Today, the actress has come a long way since then and has become a champion of body positivity. She will soon be seen in Shakuntala Devi which releases on 31 July, 2020, on Amazon Prime.

Know about the dos and donts of drinking green tea – The Indian Express
By: Lifestyle Desk | New Delhi | Updated: July 11, 2020 10:52:02 am If you think that seeping the leaves in the tea for a longer time will miraculously add more nutrients to the tea, you are wrong. (Source: Getty/Thinkstock)
People drink green tea when they want to detox and lose weight. It is considered to be the healthiest drink for when you are trying to cleanse yourself and flush out toxins from the body. Normally, it is advised that green tea be consumed first in the morning, and then later in the evening as well, for best results. But there are certain guidelines that the drinker ought to follow, to reap maximum benefits out of it. Which brings us to some dos and donts that you must follow; find out what they are.
* Do not drink green tea when it is super hot. Some people boil it way too much and for too long, before they sit down to consume it. But this only makes the tea lose its taste, its essence. It then becomes less enjoyable. Also, just like everything else, green tea must also be consumed when it is just warm and not piping hot, so as to avoid burns in the tongue, and complications in the digestive tract and the stomach.

* Do not have it right after your meal. Some people may think that in order to lose weight and get rid of the calories, they must wash down their meals with green tea, or worse, have it immediately after. This is a strict no-no, because it can slow down or come in the way of the bodys digestion process. Let the food settle down, before you think to consume green tea.
* If you think that seeping the leaves in the tea for a longer time will miraculously add more nutrients to the tea, you are wrong. This can make the tea bitter in taste and also make it toxic, which is actually counter-productive.
* Have your tea when you have time on your hands and can sit down. Do not rush the process, because then it will not serve the purpose of detoxifying the body and making the mind alert. It increases the bodys metabolism process, and for that it needs to be enjoyed and consumed at leisure.

* Do not wash down your medicines with green tea. There is plain water for that. It can harm you because the chemical composition of the tablet can get mixed with the tea, and it can cause severe acidity.
* Always use bottled water or mineral water to make the tea. This is just to be safe, because some people still use tap water for most of their culinary purposes. It is best to drink water that you know is safe, and one that can enhance the taste of tea.

President Trump Coronavirus Task Force
We ought to be thinking about how wed live with the virus for years. After all, it usually takes years to develop a virus vaccine.
We cant try to impose six-foot social distancing or face masks forever; humans are social animals. As it is, now that were in the midst of the pandemic, a substantial minority of Americans, in the sort of denial and wishful thinking encouraged by the Trump regime, refuse to follow any guidelines. This minority makes it nearly impossible to stop the pandemic in the United States.
Of course, everybody will have to decide for themselves the costs and benefits of following the standard public-health guidelines for a pandemic without a vaccine.
Barring a vaccine, well have to accept that well just have to wait for herd immunity, achieved by most people being infected, to stop the pandemic. And for now, if were responsible, calmly waiting in lines at stores and other public places six feet apart. Thats the sort of thing that most living Americans, famous for their impatience, have never had to tolerate until now. Indeed, were all getting new lessons in the usefulness of patience and fatalism.
The White House, for all its corruption, incompetence and lies, is quite right that America will have to live with the virus for the foreseeable future.
COVID-19 will seriously sicken, and kill, only a small percentage of the U.S. population, but that may still mean millions of people over the next few years. And we have to accept the tradeoff costs of reopening in sectors, especially schools, where the social, intellectual, economic and, yes, physical and mental health costs of not mostly physically opening exceed those of staying mostly physically closed. Remote learning, for example, is a disaster, especially for younger students.
As we wait, there are other things we can consider doing, besides social distancing and face masks, that can help save people from getting very sick from COVID-19: For example, lose weight! Obese people are particularly vulnerable to this virus. And America is the Empire of obesity.
I wonder how much the U.S. birth rate will fall because of the pandemic. Social distancing indeed!

Governor Gina Raimondo
Who would want to be a governor now!? Consider Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo, who has come under pressure from small business and Lt. Gov. Dan McKee (who seems to be running for governor) to step up state help for small businesses slammed by the pandemic. Large, very profitable, and sometimes politically connected and lobbyist-rich enterprises seem so far to have received disproportionate shares of federal COVID-19 money meant for small business across America.
Saying that small business is the backbone of America is an old favorite of politicians but of course, in practice, its the big ones that are favored, especially since the federal government in recent years has pretty much stopped trying to limit monopolies and oligopolies.
The Governor is holding back some federal relief money for small enterprises because the state faces a huge budget deficit caused by the pandemic. But under federal relief rules, states arent supposed to use the money that theyve gotten from the Feds to plug budget holes! The governor is hoping that the Feds will soon come up with money to help states and localities address these COVID-caused budget nightmares. With an election looming, the Feds probably will come through.
"Were putting the final touches on our proposal," she said of her new plans for small businesses.
"It's most likely going to look like small grants to various small businesses who qualify, something for say restaurants to buy supplies...dollars in the hands of businesses," the governor said. In any event, many, many small enterprises are dying across America because of the pandemic.
The Governor is trying to reduce the big cuts in public services, and increases in taxes, that seem inevitable in this mess. She and other governors will make plenty of enemies as they move money around in the crisis.
Meanwhile, I admire how the state and localities are creating such detailed plans on how to reopen schools, but of course, much depends on the course of the pandemic. As Dwight D. Eisenhower said:
Planning is everything, the plan is nothing, meaning you need to layout possibilities, options and the general direction you want to go but reality tends to pot-hole and twist the straight route you had hoped to take and you must improvise.

Speaker of the House Nick Mattiello and Senate President Dominick Ruggerio
Even as Rhode Islands state government faces a disastrous financial situation, the Democratic leadership of the General Assembly seems determined to hand a new plum to part of one of its most important constituencies public-employee unions. This is the sort of thing that happens when the public is distracted by other things.
The legislature plans to hand big disability pension payments to retired (and they tend to retire mighty early) firefighters who get any cancer, with the presumption that the disease is caused by their occupation. A disability pension for firefighters in Rhode Island is about two-thirds of pay, tax free, for life.
Many, many people, in all occupations, get cancer, and with a wide range of causes, genetic, environmental or otherwise. You can get cancer from smoking cigarettes, being out in the sun too much, drinking excessively (which can cause liver cancer) and just bad genes.
This provision, which seems to be a done deal that the governor will accept, will cost taxpayers dearly over the years.

Metacomet CC PHOTO: Club video
Not surprisingly, many neighbors of East Providences 18-hole Metacomet Country Club arent happy. The club has been bought by a developer, Marshall Properties, that puts up, among other things, strip malls. Most of the neighbors have liked having all that lovely green space next to them and want to keep it that way. But the developers have suggested that they might put a hotel, stores, apartments and townhouses, offices and assisted-living housing there. Many East Providence residents who dont live near Metacomet might be happy if the tract were thus developed, bringing in lots of new property-tax revenue.
Maybe the neighbors who most strenuously oppose redeveloping the park-like tract should pass the hat and buy all or part of it and turn it into some sort of a private nature reserve bigger than the 52 acres (35 percent of the tract) that the developers have offered to set aside for open space. After all, the neighbors have been the people most benefiting from Metacomet.

Brooks Brothers filed for Bankruptcy
Brooks Brothers, that venerable clothier (founded in 1818) has filed for protection under the U.S. Bankruptcy Act. The proximate cause was the loss of business caused by COVID-19, but it has also suffered from a long decline in sales of more formal business/office wear, both because offices are more informal than they used to be and because even before COVID more and more people had been working from home, where its acceptable to be something of a slob. And, more generally, weve lost the sense of occasion represented by being well dressed.
Brooks stuff has generally been too pricey for me but I have fond memories from many years ago of buying their tough blue Oxford button-down shirts on sale. They lasted for years.
Tropical Storms Move North
Tropical storms off the East Coast are forming and strengthening farther north than they used to. Thats because the ocean water south of New England is warming as part of man-driven global warming. Tropical storms main source of energy is the warm moist air over warm ocean water.
Watch out southern New England!
Inspiring Words and Bad Behavior
Its important to differentiate between the inspirational value of the ideas and words of American luminaries represented in statues and other public displays, and their actions. Dont minimize the words just because of the flaws of the speaker and writer. And hypocrisy makes the world go round anyway.
Thus, while Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner, his words in the Preamble of the Declaration of Independence have helped lead people to new conceptions of human rights. While in writing that all men are created equal he really meant all white men who owned property, over the years his words took on a universal applicability and resonance.
We should accept the complexities of history.
On other statues (not the American Founders): Move to museums (if the statues are truly fine art and not just political kitsch), but dont destroy, statues of the traitors who were Confederate generals, etc. most of which were erected long after the Civil War in the Jim Crow era and the fraud known as The Lost Cause in the old Slave States. Change the names of the military bases named after the Confederate traitors. As for statues of the likes of ambiguous figures such as Columbus, etc., if its good art, keep em where they were. But, as Ive suggested before, hire sculptors to make statues of neglected heroes to put in the mix, thus enriching the publics understanding of history.
By the way, there are no public statues of Hitler in Germany
Another study indicates that Blue States are generally much better places to live than Sunbelt Red States (unless you really hate winter). Consider WalletHubs most recent ranking of the 10 safest and 10 least safe states in America as measured by 53 indicators. The 10 safest, in order of safety, are: Maine, Vermont, Minnesota, Utah (Red State but with all those civic-minded, charitable and clean-living Mormons), Wyoming (Red State with very low population density), Iowa (Purple State), Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut and Rhode Island.

On Instagram last night, Katie told followers: I can confirm Harvey is in intensive care and in the best hands and would like to thank the ambulance services and the hospital staff for the quick response and making him stable.
It is the second time Harvey has needed hospital treatment in two weeks after he fell ill at sister Princess 13th birthday at her Surrey home.
Harvey experienced chest pains that felt like pins and needles and was later sent home after being diagnosed with a chest infection.
Speaking to The Sun earlier this month Katie revealed doctors told her Harvey is at serious risk of dying from a heart attack if he does not lose weight.
And, in a brutally stark statement, the fearful mum said she hoped Harvey would die before she does, because he simply will not be able to cope without her.
Katie said: When Harvey went into hospital, I feared the worst. I always do.
The doctors have told me hes at high risk of having a heart attack. Hes 27st, wears 5XL clothes and he gets out of breath walking up the stairs. So of course I panicked.
As well as Harvey, whose dad is former Manchester United footballer Dwight Yorke, Katie has Princess and Junior, 15, with ex-husband Peter Andre.
She also has two children - Jett, six, and Bunny, five with Kieran Hayler.

The teenager has an excess appetite caused by his genetic condition.
After his hospital trip with chest pains last month, Katie said: I cant see him living past 50 unless we sort out his weight and breathing.
Harvey was born with the brain disorder septo-optic dysplasia which left him partially sighted.Katie found out when he was around six weeks old.
He also has ADHD and an underactive thyroid.
In 2018, when he was 16, Katie admitted she feared Harvey could die from diabetes if he did not get fit.
She praised her then boyfriend Kris Boyson for working out with him after his weight topped 22 stone.
Harvey now lives in residential care five days a week.
Katie has said his conditions arent life-limiting as long as he takes medication and we watch his weight.
