Adele: I won't lose weight until it stops me having sex

The singer, who has recently been subjected to cruel attacks from Internet trolls about her appearance, says she is happy being a size14-16.
The 24-year-old, who recently gave birth to her first child with her partner Simon Konecki, wrote in her new biography that she had read a YouTube comment saying "Test pilot for pies", but that it had not upset her.
"I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn't."
Karl Lagerfeld was also recently criticised for saying that although Adele has a great voice she is a little too fat.
Adele may be confident about her weight, but she admits she is terrified of audiences .
In Adele: The Biography, she admitted: One show in Amsterdam, I was so nervous I escaped out of the fire exit. I've thrown up a couple of times. Once in Brussels, I projectile vomited on someone."

DNA Testing Used for Weight Loss

There's an infinite number of diets and workouts out there to help you lose weight, but now there's a genetic test available that can find out which diet might work best for your body.
Genetic testing is helping scientists and doctors understand more about human body, especially when it comes to weight loss. Its helping patients find out the best way to lose weight and keep it off.
At 5-foot-4-inches and weighing more than 300 pounds, Kourtney Kennedy was morbidly obese and said she had been losing and gaining the same hundred pounds for years.
After having surgery and losing 150 pounds, she's using the genetic testing to figure out how to get to her goal weight of 120.
Her genetic test showed her that her low-carbohydrate diet would not be as effective as a low fat diet. Her weight training workout wouldn't get her body fat down as much as an endurance workout.
I always thought low carb was the way to go and they're telling me no, you have it all wrong, she said. Your body does best with low fat.
In the past 3 months she's reduced her body fat 4 percent.
So by changing the way i ate, and by changing the way I exercise based on this new knowledge I gained, Kennedy said. I'm no longer pre-diabetic, and I'm a little bit lighter.
Her doctor, Sunil Bhoyrul, says it's an innovative breakthrough that allows doctors and patients to understand how their bodies react to different foods, exercises and even what foods patients are more inclined to eat.
Sometimes the genetic test can even tell us behavioral tendencies, he said. There's a gene believe it or not for excess snacking. Theres a gene for excess sweating. There's a gene for drawing me constantly to this cup of coffee right here.

Adele: "I Would Only Lose Weight If It Affected My Health or Sex Life"

Adele won't be bullied into losing weight.
In USA Today excerpts from her new biography, penned by Chas Newkey-Burden, the 24-year-old "Someone Like You" singer opens up about her much-talked about body. "I read a comment [about me] on YouTube that I thought would upset me -- 'Test pilot for pies' -- but I've always been a size 14-16 and been fine with it," Adele says. "I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn't."

(In a recent interview with Stylist UK, fellow Grammy Award winner Lady Gaga referenced Adele while talking about her own body woes. "Adele is bigger than me -- how come nobody says anything about it?" she asked.)
Adele -- who admits to smoking Marlboro Lights and "drinking far too much" in 2008 -- also talks candidly about the ex-boyfriend who inspired much of the songs on her multiplatinum album, 21.
PHOTOS: Adele's stunning transformation
"It was the biggest deal in my entire life to date. . . He made me totally hungry. . . He was older, he was successful in his own right, whereas my boyfriends before were my age and not really doing much. He got me interested in film and literature and food and wine and traveling and politics and history and those were things I was never, ever interested in," she explains, without revealing her ex's identity. "I was interested in going clubbing and getting drunk."
After their split, Adele says, "I just signed up for eHarmony. I can't put a photo of myself, so I don't get any e-mails! I must have written him about five or six letters at different stages and everything, but never sent. I've got a little box of stuff that reminds me of us and they're still in there."
PHOTOS: Hottest British stars
The British songbird and her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, welcomed a baby boy in mid-October. If things don't work out, Adele has a backup boyfriend in mind. "I'm after Prince Harry. I know I said I wouldn't go out with a ginger, but it's Prince Harry!" she says in the interview, which appears to have been conducted earlier this year. "I'd be a real duchess then. I'd love a night out with him -- he seems like he'd be a right laugh."

Diabetes: Effect of weight loss thrown into question

A woman tests her blood sugar level as part of her management of diabetes. Modest weight loss won't lower the risk for a heart attack or stroke in people with diabetes, according to a new study.(Photo: David Proeber, AP)
People with type 2 diabetes often are encouraged to lose weight to improve their health, but a puzzling new study may have some questioning that advice.
A recent study showed that obese people with diabetes who lost a modest amount of weight didn't lower their risk of having a heart attack or stroke, but the weight loss did help improve many other health factors.
"While we did not show a benefit of modest weight loss for cardiovascular events, we did show the benefits of weight loss for improving depression, quality of life, sleep apnea, incontinence, fitness, physical function and blood sugar control," says Rena Wing, a professor of psychiatry and human behavior at Brown University and chairman of the Look AHEAD (Action for Health in Diabetes) study. The research was financed by the National Institutes of Health.
In diabetes - a disease spotlighted in November during American Diabetes Month - the body does not make enough of the hormone insulin, or it doesn't use it properly. Insulin helps glucose (sugar) get into cells, where it is used for energy. If there's an insulin problem, sugar builds up in the blood, damaging nerves and blood vessels. There are two major forms: type 1 and type 2, which accounts for 90% to 95% of diabetes.
Diabetes can lead to heart disease, stroke, kidney failure, foot and leg amputations and blindness. Almost 26 million children and adults (8.3% of the population) in the United States have diabetes.
For the study, researchers at 16 centers around the country worked with 5,145 obese people with type 2 diabetes. Their average starting weight was about 200 pounds. The study was designed to see whether weight loss reduced the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
Half of the participants were assigned to an intensive diet and exercise program. They attended individual and group meetings where they were taught strategies for weight loss by cutting calories and increasing physical activity. They used some meal replacements during the weight-loss and maintenance phases of the program.
The other half received a general program of diabetes education several times a year. All participants continued to follow the medical advice of their physician.
Findings: Those in the diet group lost about 8% of their starting weight (about 16 pounds) in the first year and maintained nearly 5% (about 10 pounds) of that loss. Participants in the diabetes education group lost about 1% (2 pounds) of their starting weight and kept it off. Everyone was tracked for up to 11 years.
