A Wisconsin woman claims that her Fitbit tracker exploded and sether arm on fire.

Dina Mitchell had owned the Fitbit Flex 2 fitness tracker for just two weeks when the device caught fire while she was reading a book, according to ABC News.

I was literally just sitting and reading when my Fitbit exploded, Mitchell told ABC News. It was either defective or really mad I was sitting still so long I dont know. Either way, It burned the heck out of my arm.

She was treated the next day for second-degree burns, news station KTRK reported

Mitchell said she had no reason to believe there was anything wrong with the device before the alleged malfunction last week.

Fitbit includes a warning that devices haveelectrical equipment that could cause injury if not handled properly, but the company announced Tuesday that they plan to investigate the incident.

We are extremely concerned about Ms. Mitchells report regarding her Flex 2 and take it very seriously, as the health and safety of our customers is our top priority, the company said in a statement.

Fitbit said that this was the only report theyd received of a Flex 2 device explosion.

We are not aware of any other complaints of this nature and see no reason for people to stop wearing their Flex 2, the company said.
