Fitness event to benefit Wounded Warriors

CHELMSFORD -- Best Fitness, located at 279 Chelmsford St., will hold a community event on Saturday, June 23, from 9 a.m. to noon, to sample TRX fitness and donate to the Wounded Warrior Project.

TRX Suspension Training was created by the Navy SEALs and includes bodyweight exercises that simultaneously develop strength, power, endurance, mobility, durability, balance, flexibility and core stability.

The cost of the event is $10 and all proceeds will be donated to WWP, an organization whose mission is to honor and empower injured service members.

Harvard COA receives grant from NVMC

HARVARD -- The Friends of Nashoba Valley Medical Center recently presented a check for $1,000 to Debbie Thompson, director of the Harvard Council on Aging.

Each year, the Outlook Committee of the Friends annually awards grants to COAs in the service area of Nashoba Valley Medical Center.

Shopping for the benefit of shelter pets

HUDSON, N.H. -- The Humane Society for Greater Nashua (HSFN) is hosting its annual yard sale benefit on Saturday, June 23, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday, June 24, 8 a.m. to noon, in a warehouse off Route 111 at 1 Wall St. The 14,000 square foot warehouse was donated by Chartwell Properties.
