LA Fitness opens at Ocean County Mall, partially replacing what used to be Sears – NJ.com

Gym chain LA Fitness has opened at the Ocean County Mall in Toms River, according to the malls Facebook page.

The gym is one of three businesses replacing what used to be a Sears, along with Ulta Beauty and Homesense. New restaurants and additional stores are also planned to fill the space, and redevelopment should be completed by summer, according to the mall.

There are currently 27 LA Fitness gyms in New Jersey. Another one is also coming to the new Legacy Square shopping center located at Routes 1 & 9 and Pleasant Street in Linden.

The Sears at the Ocean County Mall, which is located at 1201 Hooper Ave, closed in 2018 and was eventually demolished. A Sears store at the Freehold Raceway Mall also recently announced plans to shutter in mid-February.
