After a recent acquisition by a group of investors, BC-based Steve Nash Fitness World will now be rebranded to Fitness World with the intention of reopening to its clients next month.

We are pleased to announce our rebrand to Fitness World and look forward to welcoming back our members and resuming support of their fitness journeys, said CEO Chris Smith. Exercise is beneficial to all and our top priority is the comfort and safety of our team and members, which is why adherence to provincial health and safety measures is a key component of our reopening plan.

In a release, Fitness World said it will look to honour all existing service agreements with members, including pre-paid memberships and personal training services. In addition, current members whose memberships have been frozen due to COVID-19 will be able to extend their freeze during the month of July if they choose.

The new ownership team understands there are many questions that remain unanswered and we look forward to welcoming people back into the clubs as quickly and safely as possible as we work through COVID-19 reopening protocols, said Smith. There will be health and safety procedures in place when we reopen that are all in line with BC safety standards, as keeping everyone safe and healthy will be a foremost priority.

The company said it has also pledged to donate equipment from closed locations to communities in need, with the goal of supporting widespread access to high-quality fitness equipment that supports exercise and an active lifestyle. The company will also offer remote training and support sessions with topics ranging from using fitness equipment safely to achieving individual fitness goals.
