The pandemic has certainly brought out the creative streak in people and desserts do lend themselves to all kinds of themes and flavours, but this definitely takes the proverbial cake and bakery, too! The pandemic is seeing people prepare coronavirus-themed cakes, a move that is probably hoped to boost business. Whos eating it? That could be another guess, of course! The cakes in question popped up on a shelf in Guatemala City when pastry chef Roberto de Leon prepared the colourful dessert. As per a report, De Leon tried to keep his business afloat by promoting the elaborate virus-shaped cakes. Toilet paper cakes as wellOne of things that was in short supply across shelves in the US a while ago, was toilet paper. While many found that inconvenient, a few others picked up the idea of making a few cool toilet paper cakes. And these cakes were soon seen in special versions in quite a few places. As per a report, at a store in Germany got around to baking at least 200 of these sweet rolls in a single day to match the high demand for it. Another one in Illinois also made this offbeat, sugary treat. Food bloggers loved the idea and some said it was nice to see a sense of humour in these times.
