Dayanara Torres puts her DIY skills to the test to create special gift for her son Cristian and nails it – HOLA USA

Dayanara Torres doesnt need to go to a store and buy a gift. Instead, she has honed her prowess as a carpenter and created a unique gift for her son Cristian Marcus Muiz. The Puerto Rican model recently surprised her fans and revealed her DIY skills with a personalized flag from Puerto Rico. Cristian asked me for a flag and I was just not going to buy one at the store... no... I made it shared Dayanara on her project video while she reveals her woodworking abilities. In between colorful paint, a map guide and a wood cutting tool, the model was able to execute the final project with ease.

The project took several steps to complete. First, she had to paint the wood board and then execute a detailed carving of the island. After, she proceeded to paint the separate shaped-piece with the flags original colors - red, white and blue. While the project seems a lengthy process, the results and effort are timeless, and Dayanara can definitely say she has Martha Stewarts skills. Aside from creating wood flags, the beauty queen is an expert at making coquito and baking oatmeal cookies. In a recent video, Dayanara showed her cooking skills and revealed a homemade recipe for the traditional Christmas drink that originated in Puerto Rico.

10 Horror Movies With A Great Concept But Bad Execution (& Their IMDb Score) – Screen Rant

To say horror films are more popular now than they've ever been is an understatement. From Ari Aster'sMidsommarto Leigh Whannell'sThe Invisible Man,we're never short on horror content. There's a lot of good horror content, but a lot of bad as well.

RELATED:10 Horror Crossovers We Want to See After The Invisible Man

Sure there's some horror movies that don't work on premise alone, but it's interesting to think about the ones that actually had good premises but failed anyway. Whether that's because the writers or directors tried too hard or didn't try hard enough is often the case. Here we'll be looking at 10 horror movies that didn't deliver on the concepts they promised, and how they rank on IMDb.

Based on the book by Joe Hill, Horns stars Daniel Radcliffe as Ig Perrish, who wakes up one day to find hes the main suspect in his girlfriends rape and murder. Well, that and the fact that hes now got two horns coming out of his head, which allow him to make people reveal their darkest desires. Ig decides to use these powers to solve his girlfriends murder, uncovering much more about himself and other townspeople along the way.

Hills book is a fan favorite, and that synopsis alone promises not only a suspenseful, gothic mystery but also a lot of fun dark comedy from hearing people reveal or act out their desires. The film however, doesn't deliver on either promise: while the cast is solid, the mystery is predictable from the get-go, and the dark humor is cheap and witless.

Whether you love him or hate him, director McG has carved out a resume of box office hits (including the originalCharlies Angels films andTerminator: Salvation) thats made him one of Hollywoods go-to directors. His 2017 horror comedy The Babysittercould have made for a smart subversion of slashers with its main plot, where the hot teenagers here arent victims, but the villains. But this one falls flat on its face by not being funny, scary, or clever in the slightest, not to mention obnoxiously telling us what its characters are thinking or about to do in a scene (a characters shock in one moment has the words What the fuck?! show up onscreen). And yet a sequel is set to hit Netflix in the near future.

A horror take on Superman's origin story, where a childless couple raise a super-powered child that grows up to be evil: how could this notbe great? WhileBrightburnisn't without some cool scenes, its faults lie in the pacing and characterization. The film moves too quickly, not allowing for scenes to breathe or characters to develop past cliched archetypes. But the film's biggest sin might be making Brandon's turn to evil caused by messages from his spaceship, when it would have been far more interesting to see him go evil on his own.

Stephen King's 1984 novelThinnerfollows a morbidly obese lawyer named Billy Halleck, who accidentally kills an old gypsy woman. He's let off the hook thanks to his connections with the town's judge, but is then cursed by the gypsy woman's father to continually lose weight (no matter how much he eats) as punishment for the crime. As Billy continues losing dangerous amounts of weight, he must figure out how to reverse the gypsy's curse before he's a literal goner.

RELATED:The 10 Worst Stephen King Adaptations (According To IMDb)

King's story could have explored themes of white privilege and the unfair justice system, but the otherwise messy, overacted film rarely delivers in those areas. But now's the right time for aThinnerremake: with people like Brett Kavanaugh being let off the hook for their crimes while more innocent people are punished, it's clear that white privilege is still going strong. A new version ofThinnercould really mirror those events with Billy's crime and serve as a takedown of Trump-era corruption altogether.

Two of the most fearsome creatures in film going up against each other; you can practically smell the money being made and imaginations running wild with excitement. Heck, they wouldn't even have to: the line ofAlien vs. Predatorcomics at the time offered unlimited possibilities for where a film could go. And yet the film we got was a disposable, poorly-lit mess focusing mostly on bland characters instead of the characters in the freaking title. And even worse? It was rated PG-13, so we could forget about any insane, bloody fights between the Yautja and the xenomorphs.

TheChild's Playfranchise definitely started going downhill withBride of Chucky. The idea of two serial killer dolls hitching a ride with some unaware passengers and going on aNatural Born Killers-esque killing spree has excellent potential. But it fails due to bad pacing and an issue that's held back the franchise: Chucky's search for a human body. His goal here is to get an amulet that lets him and his bride transfer their souls into human bodies (even though Chucky could do this without the amulet in previous films). It would have been more interesting if Chucky accepted his fate (or gimmick) as a killer doll and simply wanted to use this road trip as an excuse for more killing.

It sucks when great directors go bad, and Gremlins auteur Joe Dante showed his decline with this measly flick. The late Anton Yelchin plays a nice guy whos struggling to breakup with his controlling girlfriend (Ashley Greene), before shes run over by a truck. As Yelchins enjoying his romance with a better girl (Alexandra Daddario), Greene comes back to life thanks to a magical artifact and Yelchin must figure out a way to get rid of her once and for all.

Theres unlimited potential with that plot, and it's right up Dante's alley. Sadly there's barely an ounce of the director's trademark creativity and irreverence here. Every attempt at humor, scares, or character growth fails disastrously; you can practically see the actors trying to rise above what they're given to work with. We wish we could have seen what Edgar Wright would have done with this concept.

As weird as it sounds,Tuskmight have worked. Kevin Smith's indescribable horror comedy that sees Justin Long get turned into a walrus is perhaps too weird for its own good, but what stands in the way of it being more entertaining and complex is the fact that it's a nearly 2 hour movie. The film suffers from building other characters (including one in particular who seems like he's from a completely different movie) around its main hook. But as the saying goes, less is more: a 20-30 min. short film would have kept the tone more consistent and allowed for more creativity and depth.

Lucy Hale starred in this flop, in which a group of friends are cursed by an evil spirit to play sadistic games of truth or dare. Both choices force the characters to say or do things they never would in a million years, and refusing to play results in death. With a plot like that, youd expect this one to be pretty unpredictable, right?

RELATED:The Worst Movies of 2018, According to Rotten Tomatoes

Sadly, this film never reaches the insanity that set-up promiseswith the lone exception of an alcoholic girl forced to walk on a roof without falling. The rest of the time were stuck with flat characters and a messy story structure, all leading up to an unintentionally laughable ending. Writer/director Jeff Wadlow continued to fail upwards though, with his horror take on Fantasy Island coming out earlier this year.

Trust us, we haven't lost our minds. So how could a film involving a gender-confused doll, Jennifer Tilly getting impregnated with a turkey baster, and Redman directing a Virgin Mary film actually be good? Simple: do none of those things. While we're sure writer Don Mancini had good intentions with Glen/Glenda's sexuality storyline, the film had an easy plot staring it right in the face: have Glen resurrect his parents and--over the course of a country-wide killing spree with his parents--comes to question whether he's truly a killer like them or not.

Sirtfood diet became popular after a book on the same was released by pharmacist Aidan Goggins and nutritionist Glen Matten, in 2016. It involves eating foods high in protein called sirtuin, which can induce weight loss. These foods include strawberries, blueberries, red wine, dark chocolate, green tea, onions, kale, walnuts, turmeric, buckwheat and citrus fruits, among others.

Sirtuins are believed to protect cells from dying when they are under stress. They are known to regulate inflammation, metabolism and thereby promoting weight loss, and ageing, according to bbcgoodfood.com.

This diet is divided into two phases. In the initial phase that lasts one week, one is required to restrict calories to 1000kcal for three days by consuming three sirtfood green juices, like kale, green tea and lemon, celery or parsley, and one meal rich in sirtfoods, each day. From day 4 to 7, the energy intake is to be increased to 1500 kcal. For this, one can have two sirtfood green juices and two sirtfood-rich meals a day.

I’ve Lost 15 Pounds on the Noom Diet App, and Here’s What I Eat in a Day – MSN Money

POPSUGAR Photography / Matthew Kelly / Claudia Totir I've Lost 15 Pounds on the Noom Diet App, and Here's What I Eat in a Day

Editors note: The opinions in this article are the authors, as published by our content partner, and do not necessarily represent the views of Microsoft News or Microsoft. MSN Health Voices features first-person essays and stories from diverse points of view. Click here to see more Voices content from MSN Lifestyle, Health, Travel and Food.

I'm a fitness editor, and I live a pretty healthy lifestyle - I exercise five to six days a week, eat a whole-foods-based diet, and get at least seven hours of sleep a night - but in January of this year, I found my weight creeping up on the higher end of what I find comfortable. I've struggled to keep weight off my whole life, and thanks to my bipolar II medication, general stress, and love of happy hour, this has only gotten harder as I've gotten older.

I also have PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), which means I need to be careful with my weight: women with PCOS are more likely to develop type 2 diabetes and insulin resistance (and women with PCOS have a harder time losing weight, which makes this all a fun cycle).

All of that being said: I wanted to check out the Noom weight-loss app to see if it could help me shed some pounds and get back on track with a healthy lifestyle. Created with the help of registered dietitians and other experts, the Noom app aims to not only help you lose weight, but also change your behaviors and reevaluate the thought processes behind the decisions you make. Each day includes new articles on topics such as portion control, staying motivated, identifying your social triggers, and how to decode a restaurant menu.

Noom also includes a daily calorie target, which adjusts based on how much activity you got that day (you manually log your exercise or sync up to your Fitbit or Apple Watch). One of my favorite features of Noom is the comprehensive food log where you type in what you ate and track your daily calories. If your food isn't in Noom's database, you can manually add the nutrition information. It also provides a color-coded breakdown of your food based on how calorie-dense they are: green (fruits, veggies, most whole grains, complex carbs), yellow (lean meats, starches, eggs), and red (typically processed junk food but also healthy calorie-dense foods like oils and nuts). You are supposed to aim to eat as many green and yellow foods as possible and limit your red foods to 25 percent or less of your diet.

The biggest adjustment for me was keeping track of everything I ate. Sure, I eat a pretty well-balanced diet, but I'm often tempted by treats in the work kitchen or all of the tasty snacks sent to my office. After hours, it's easy for me to let one glass of wine turn to three and get carried away with the free chips and salsa. Signing up for Noom really helped me figure out where I tend to overeat and track the true size of a healthy portion: 1/4 cup of almonds is a good-sized snack. Half a bag is not.

UP NEXT

After four months on Noom, I'm down 15 pounds! Not as fast as I would have liked, but I do realize that slow and steady wins the race. I didn't do anything radical aside from read the Noom articles, log my food, work out, and pay attention to my daily calorie budget. Although every day is different for me food-wise, here is an example of what a typical day of eating looks like.

My daily calorie target depends on how much activity I've done that day. If I've worked out and walked 10,000 steps, my calories will be closer to 1,500-1,600 a day. If I skipped a workout and laid on the couch all day (hello, hungover Sundays), my calorie target is closer to 1,200-1,300 a day. Here is an example of a day where I had a moderate workout:

Breakfast: protein smoothie (430 calories)

1 scoop Vega One All-in-One Nutritional Chocolate Shake (170 calories)

1/2 banana (52 calories)

1 tablespoon Perfect Keto Pure MCT Oil (130 calories)

1.25 cup 365 Organic Almond Milk Unsweetened (50 calories)

1 cup baby spinach (7 calories)

3 flowerets of raw cauliflower (9 calories)

3 giant frozen strawberries (12 calories)

Lunch: breaded chicken breast with quinoa and broccoli (405 calories)

3 ounces chicken breast (175 calories)

1/4 serving 365 Everyday Value Whole Wheat Bread Crumbs (25 calories)

1 teaspoon olive oil (40 calories)

1/2 cup cooked quinoa (111 calories)

1 cup roasted broccoli (54 calories)

Afternoon snack: almonds and collagen water (180 calories)

17 Blue Diamond Gourmet Almonds, Rosemary and Sea Salt (120 calories)

Vital Proteins Collagen Beauty Water, Strawberry Lemon (60 calories)

Dinner: baked salmon with quinoa and broccoli (397 calories)

3 ounces cooked salmon (195 calories)

1/2 cooked quinoa (111 calories)

1 cup steamed broccoli (55 calories)

1 pat of butter (36 calories)

Daily total calories: 1,412

On this day, I did a pretty good job of loading up on mostly green foods, a nice amount of yellow foods, and limiting my red foods. I know some of my diet staples are red (like MCT oil and almonds), but I'm going to keep eating them - I just pay attention to the portion sizes.

I tend to eat the same things over and over, which is one way people find weight-loss success: it takes the guesswork out of having to plan so many meals each week. I also try and meal prep on Sundays, and on this particular day, I made big batches of quinoa in the rice cooker and broccoli (both steamed and oven-roasted) to last for lunches and dinners. I also baked breaded chicken breasts for lunch and salmon fillets for dinner to get my protein in.

My protein smoothie can sometimes be my biggest meal of the day. I make a calorie-dense smoothie like this after my big morning workout to refuel my body and keep me full well until my late lunch. Sometimes I need to supplement with a mid-morning snack, but most days I'm satisfied until 2 p.m. or so.

If I have a day where I know I'm going to be getting drinks after work or want to make room for a delicious chocolate chip cookie from the break room, I make adjustments in my diet the rest of the day. Maybe I'll skip the MCT oil in my smoothie or forgo an afternoon snack. Sometimes I'll trade in my quinoa at lunch for double the veggies or leave out the butter on top. Every little tweak or adjustment counts toward my daily calorie target. And while I didn't reach for something sweet after dinner on this day, I usually have some type of dessert each day that's less than 100 calories: a square of dark chocolate or a dark chocolate peanut butter cup from Trader Joe's.

I have never felt deprived doing Noom and I always listen to my hunger cues. Noom has really opened my eyes to what an accurate portion size is and how to plan your meals around your daily calorie target. I still have a little ways to go to hit my goals, but tracking everything in Noom makes it easier.

Weight loss story: Black patches started developing on my skin because of my weight – Times of India

While a lot of people understand the importance of changing the lifestyle in order to get fit, not everyone has the strength to follow through. On the day 27-year-old Manadeep Ganguli released that he needed to lose all the extra kilos and get healthy, he decided to revamp his lifestyle.Instead of following a strict diet or a strenuous workout regime, he proved that making small but effective tweaks in your daily routine can help you get back in shape. Want to know the lifestyle habits that helped him lose a massive 33 kilos? Read on.Name: Manadeep GanguliOccupation: Consultant

Age: 27 years

Height: 5 feet 9 inches

City: Pune

Highest weight recorded: 110 kgs

Weight lost: 33 kgs

Duration it took me to lose weight: 10 months

The turning point: I was pretty lazy as I did not indulge in any physical activities and did not have any hobbies as well. To top it all, I was a hardcore foodie! As a result, I slowly became overweight and then sadly shifted to the obese category by the time I passed out of B-school.

While I did not care about my growing weight initially, I slowly saw that dark patches were developing around the side of my eyes, neck and wrists. I had read in certain articles that it could be a sign of very high cholesterol levels in the body. That served as a much-needed wakeup call as I could clearly see the impact of my growing weight on my skin. Since that day, I never looked backed and completely changed my unhealthy lifestyle and dietary habits.

My breakfast: 1 plate poha and 1 cup green tea.

My lunch: Protein biscuits and 4 egg whites

My dinner: Boiled chicken 150 grams

Pre-workout meal: Mousambi juice (without sugar) 250 millilitres

Post-workout meal: Murmure or dry chiwda

I indulge in: I look forward to eating mutton biryani and my favourite ice cream

My workout: 10 kilometres of brisk walking every day and dumbbell curls (500 reps)

Low-calorie recipes I swear by: Onion uttapam, brown rice pulav and probiotic yoghurt.

Fitness secrets I unveiled: If you really want to lose weight, you have to understand that lifestyle change is the key to any transformation. So, whether it is eating on time or catching enough shut-eye, they all help in boosting your metabolism and subsequently, pave the way for a healthy weight loss.

How do I stay motivated? There is nothing more motivating than looking at my old photographs and comparing how far I have come.

How do you ensure you dont lose focus? The beauty of a changed lifestyle is that you really don't have to push yourself every day to stay focused. So, for me, the right diet, staying active and sleeping on time have all become a part of my daily routine.

Whats the most difficult part of being overweight? Without any speck of doubt, it is underconfidence It affects your mentality and as a result, you don't communicate well which impacts your professional life as well. When you are underconfident, you feel like a fish out of water at any social gathering and just wish to stay away from the crowd.

Jonah Hill’s rollercoaster weight journey as he blames fluctuation on yo-yo dieting – Mirror Online

Jonah Hill has been battling constant weight fluctuations throughout his career, and has been open about how difficult it is to maintain a goal weight.

The Wolf of Wall Street star, 36, has had a slew of media coverage thrown his way, from his weight gain in 2014 and 2015 to his dramatic slim-downs in 2016 and 2017.

What's more, Jonah has admitted that his self-esteem took a hard, heavy hit after constantly finding himself under scrutiny for his fluctuating weight.

The War Dogs actor had previously piled on the pounds for roles in 21 and 22 Jump Street as well as The Wolf Of Wall Street, but has been able to lose it and showcase a slimmed-down look afterwards.

At his heaviest, Jonah weighed almost 18 stone and has since lost over 3 stone.

The actor shot to fame in 2007 teen comedy Superbad, and has since been battling his self image in the public eye.

Back in 2011, Jonah famously slimmed down his 17 stone 8lb frame for his role in Moneyball with co-star Brad Pitt.

His slimmed-down figure sparked much speculation that Brad was the driving force behind his major weight loss, however Jonah later said it was simply down to a new diet and taking care of himself.

Speaking about his impressive 2 stone 8 lb weight loss, he told ABC News: "It was just mostly diet.

"I wish there was some crazy thing that I did, like a pill or a genie or something, but I went to see a nutritionist, and he told me what to eat to change my habits and stuff.

I found that Japanese food was very helpful to me."

He also admitted that something as simple as ditching beer had helped him shed the weight faster than he thought.

He explained: "I went to a nutritionist and I said, 'I'll lose weight, Ill eat healthier and whatever, but figure out how I can drink beer'.

"It's so annoying because if I dont drink beer, I get really really thin. Then when I drink beer, I get a little bigger."

But despite his major weight loss, the actor later gained the weight back as his fluctuations began to take toll.

It was then in 2014 when he once again slimmed down for the action-comedy22 Jump Street.

But the diet regime only lasted for two years as in 2016 Jonah again gained weight for his role in War Dogs opposite Channing Tatum.

Despite the gain, Jonah then admitted he would be resuming his healthy lifestyle to drop the pounds once again after the film.

The world got to see Jonah at his lowest ever weight in 2017 after the actor lost a whopping three stone that he put on for his role in War Dogs.

Speaking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he revealed the hilarious advice Jump Street co-star gave him.

He said:I gained weight for this movie War Dogs, and then I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing, and said, Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?

"And he said, Yes, you dumb motherf***er, of course you will, its the simplest thing in the entire world'."

And throughout the years, Jonah has been very open about his weight journey, admitting that his self-esteem had been affected by the vicious criticism regarding his size.

Speaking to Ellen DeGeneres back in 2018, he said: I became famous in my late teens and then spent most of my young adult life listening to people say that I was fat and gross and unattractive.

And its only in the last four years writing and directing my movie, Mid90s, that Ive started to understand how much that hurt and got into my head."

"I really believe everyone has a snapshot of themselves from a time when they were young that theyre ashamed of. For me, its that 14-year-old overweight and unattractive kid who felt ugly to the world, who listened to hip-hop and who wanted so badly to be accepted by this community of skaters."

He added: I think everybody has a version of themselves at some point in your life the person youre trying to kind of hide from the world.

Even if you get success or you grow up or you become good-looking or whatever, the things that you think will fix the thing, you kind of carry some part of that with you.

It took a long time honestly until right now for me to come out as sort of the person, the artist, mind, what I represent, how I feel, how Id like to be spoken to, how I speak to the world in a way that actually represents who I am as a person as opposed to me trying to be something else that Im not. Im under construction like we all are.

Demands for government intervention on obesity to help cut ‘increased but preventable’ COVID-19 death risk – FoodNavigator.com

Its proposals include bans on the advertising of unhealthy products, limits on fast food portion sizes, mandatory nutrition labelling and mandatory reformulation targets for salt, sugar and calories all policed by a new independent food watchdog.

The proposals come ahead of the British Governments imminent reviewwhich will analyse how factors including obesity, ethnicity, income and gender can affect the impact of the coronavirus on peoples health.

Britain has suffered a heavy toll from the pandemic, experiencing the second-highest rate of deaths per capitaafter Spain, according to the Financial Times and based excess mortality figures. The government, however, said it was wrong and premature to be drawing conclusions at this stage and that excess deaths should be adjusted for age.

Action on Salt, meanwhile, maintained there is increasing evidence demonstrating that obesity is an independent risk factor for more severe illness and death from COVID-19.

It believes obesity is the major risk factor that can potentially be modified meaning millions of people are living with an increased, but preventable, risk from COVID-19.

The current NHS treatments recommended for severe obesity are bariatric surgery, supported weight loss services, advice, and orlistat, which can be prescribed by a GP. Not all treatments are available or accessible, it said.

Beyond this, although there is an element of personal responsibility in both the treatment and prevention of obesity, this can only be equitably achieved with access to healthy, affordable food in an environment that supports the individual at every turn not the current obesogenic environment within which we live. Long planned and vital governmental measures to address this have been delayed by food industry lobbying and have now been put on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak, at a time when they have never been more necessary.

It is urging ministers to act on previous government commitments to tackle the obesity crisis that the nation faced prior to COVID-19 and will continue to face if government continue[s] to dither".

Katharine Jenner - campaign director of Action on Sugar and Action on Salt, Queen Mary University of London - said: The British public are being failed bythe food environment within which we currently live. Although there is an element of personal responsibility in both the treatment and prevention of obesity, this can only be achieved withequitableaccess to healthy, affordable food this is far from a reality. It is even more critical than ever for the food and drink industry, including the hospitality sector, to stop flooding us with unhealthy food options to keep us healthy both now and in the future.

Action on Sugar has called for immediate government intervention on obesity to help prevent further deaths from COVID-19.

Among its proposals are to ensure only healthy products are advertised and promoted. According to the group, the advertising, price and placement promotions (such as end of aisles, point of sale) of more unhealthy foods and drinks manipulates choice, creating an environment where products high in salt, sugar and/or fat are more desirable.

It has called for fiscal measures to promote healthy food (with income ringfenced to subsidise treatments), as well as mandatory nutrition labelling. The Soft Drinks Industry Levy has been successful in reducing sugar intakes via reformulation, and in raising much needed revenue for childrens services, it said. The current sugar levy thresholds should be reduced, the rates increased, and it should be immediately applied to a calorie threshold in sugar sweetened milk and milk-alternative drinks.

It wants reformulation efforts to be policed by a new independent food watchdog. The current voluntary reformulation programmes have failed, it said, and it wants incremental mandatory reformulation targets set for salt, sugar and calories.

It also wants to make colour-coded signpost labelling mandatory on all food, drinks and alcohol sold in retail, and for the nutritional profile of processed food and drink to be improved via government implementation of portion size restrictions.

Graham MacGregor, chairman of Action on Sugar and Action on Salt, and Professor of cardiovascular medicine, Queen Mary University of London, said: With data showing that 78% of coronavirus infections and 62% of hospital deaths occur in overweight or obese individuals with Boris Johnson himself is reportedly to be concerned about his own weight with an estimated BMI of 36 the government has a moral duty to intervene.

"Obesity is also the main underlining cause of type 2 diabetes which in itself is another potentially modifiable risk factor for more severe COVID-19. However, long planned and awaited governmental measures to address this have been unbelievably put on hold due to the COVID-19 outbreak, at a time when they have never been more necessary.

Speaking to FoodNavigator, ProfessorMacGregor agreed there was 'no quick fix' to tackling obesity, and that the evidence was currently lacking to suggest reducing weight 'reduces the risk of infection or theseverityof the infection with COVID-19'.

But he added: "There's a lot of evidence out there showing that eating a more healthy diet with less salt, fat and sugar, and particularly more fruit and vegetables, does give you a positive increase in your immunity and your ability to fight infection, an that's the same for exercise.

"You can't just lose weight tomorrow, but it's more the change in diet than the weight loss per se."

But is it wrong toblamethe bigfood companiesfor the rising incidence ofobesity? Should we be talking moreabout choice and personal responsibility instead of government intervention?

"The food industry makes very cheap, processed food that's stuffed with salt, fat and sugar. It then spends billions of pounds marketing and advertising it and making it available everywhere. The reason counties are becoming obese all over the world is not the fault of individuals," contendedMacGregor.

The food industry is to blame. They already know that and are taking action. Now we have a new COVID-19 pandemic which quite clearly is far worse in people who are obese. The food industry has created this environment and they need to do something about it. I think anyone reasonable in the food industry would agree."

What intervention measures is the group proposing?

Fiscal measures that could be explored to enforce this could include:
