A Boston and Miami-based fitness mogul paid $5.5 million for a waterfront home on the Venetian Islands.
Property records show Alissa Pool, an owner of Btone Fitness in the Boston area and partner of Aurum Activewear, closed on the four-bedroom, 3,788-square-foot house at 320 West Rivo Alto Drive in Miami Beach. The seller is Saumur LLC, led by Robert D. Balick. Pool financed the deal with a $3 million mortgage from First Republic Bank.
The two-story house, on Rivo Alto island, was built in 1949 and just sold for $1,452 per square foot. It includes a pool and dock.
Dora Puig of Luxe Living Realty represented the seller, while Karen Reiter of One Sothebys International Realty brought the buyer. The home hit the market in October for $5.95 million.
Reiter said Pool and her husband plan to renovate the house and live in it. Pool is also an instructor at JetSet Miami, a Pilates studio in Miami Beach. The couple also have a home in Massachusetts, records show.
Puig said the deal marks the return of the beach house villa.
Traditionally I think a lot of people look at these properties as teardowns, but for them it will be for their waterfront haven, Puig said.
The Rivo Alto house last sold in 2016 for $4.25 million.
A number of waterfront homes have sold for record prices on the Venetian Islands in recent years. In December, the founders of the skin care and cosmetics company M. Asam paid $11.55 million for a spec home 120 West Rivo Alto Drive.
A month earlier, in November, developer Emmanuel Sebag sold the spec home at 802 West Dilido Drive in Miami Beach for $15.55 million.

These are the fitness habits of 5 CEOs – Ladders

Being a CEO is a challenging job. Youre in charge of a companys success and failures, and your time is always in demand. For many, its a 24/7 job that requires discipline, time management, and ruthless prioritization. And thats where fitness comes in.
If you ask a CEO to list their most helpful productivity tips and chances are, one of those tips will involve breaking a sweat. Teri Citterman, a CEO and executive performance coach, tells Ladders that the stress of the job is precisely why so many CEOs make the time to have a fitness routine. A lot of leaders have type AAA personality, says Citterman, and as a result, they need an absolute outlet to release their pent-up energy so that it doesnt turn into anger. Working out is really one of those times where you are alone with yourself, not thinking about work, not thinking about the demands, and you have to have that time to regenerate.
Here are the fitness habits that these 5 CEOs rely on to keep their physical and mental health in check.
The Virgin Group founder and 69-year old business magnate has been vocal about the importance that exercise plays in his life. He told CNBC Make It, I love to look after my body. If I feel great, I can achieve anything. Bransons fitness routine involves a game of tennis in the morning, and sometimes another one in the evening. Hell also do some weight lifting, and if hes in Necker Island (which he owns), hell fit in some kite surfing in his daily routine.
The Apple CEO reportedly utilizes exercise as a way to tamper his stress. He is known for being an early riser, getting up just a little before 4 a.m., according to an interview he did with Axios On HBO. Cook goes to the gym for an hour because it keeps his stress at bay, after going through user commentswhich is the first thing he does when he wakes up.
The billionaire talk-show host founded a production company that focuses on health and wellness content, so its no surprise that fitness is an integral part of her daily routine. According to an interview that she gave to The Hollywood Reporter in 2017, she hits her home gym about an hour after she wakes up. She told the magazine, Ill do 20 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes walking on the treadmill. I start out at the Level 3 incline settings and then every minute I add to the incline until I get to 12 or 15. And then I do sit-ups. She then reportedly follows that up with 20 minutes of transcendental meditation.
As the founder and CEO of athleisurewear brand Outdoor Voices, movement is a crucial part of Haneys daily routine. She told CNBC Make It that she performs her best when she starts her day by clearing her mind. For me, mind-clearing comes from movement. Haneys morning routine includes swimming ten laps before starting her day at the Outdoor Voices office in Austin.
The Twitter and Square CEO has one of the most elaborate, and some would say eccentric, health and fitness routine. As he revealed in an interview on the podcast Ben Greenfield Fitness, he starts the day with a hydrotherapy routine, where he alternates between sitting in a 220-degree sauna for 15 minutes and a 37-degree ice bath for 2 minutes. He does this cycle three times. For exercise, he walks to work and also regularly does a 7-minute high-intensity interval training workout. Dorsey is also a proponent of intermittent fasting.

When Margot May helped found Fit Like A Girl in Spring 2019, she felt that USC lacked an all-female community to engage in fitness and health outside of University sports. Since its inception, May, the social media head of Fit Like A Girl, and other founders of the club hope to empower members to become their best selves and bring together a diverse community of college-aged women through planned fitness activities.
As of Spring 2020, the club boasts a roster of more than 100 members and serves as a perfect group workout system for girls looking for a fitness community, said Alya Kalra, the Fit Like A Girl event coordinator.
If you want a place where you can meet a lot of girls, if you want to try a different workout routine I think this is the perfect club for them, Kalra said.
Natalie Ospeck, a sophomore majoring in global health, said she and other members of Fit Like A Girl were inspired to lead the club by a desire to bring girls together and introduce them to what it means to have an active lifestyle.
I always loved working out when I was younger and in high school, Ospeck said. Coming to college where I didnt have that organization around working out, it was a little bit stressful And so were inspired just by bringing girls together and inspiring a healthy lifestyle in college because it can be hard to fit in workouts.
Members pay a $10 fee each semester to meet at different fitness studios either on or near campus for a workout session once a week. In the past, Fit Like A Girl has partnered with CorePower Yoga, Studio Club Pilates, Clube Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Bespoke Cycling.
The club sends out polls to members at the end of each semester and gauges which workouts members enjoyed the most to ensure everyone has a say in future workouts and studios that they attend, Ospeck said.
We really want to make it an affordable thing for people, Ospeck said. So we really look for studios who are either willing to volunteer their time and let us try a class or give us a discounted group rate.
For Audrey Geis, a sophomore majoring in business administration, Fit Like A Girl stands out from other athletic clubs because it is not geared toward rigorous training but toward building a community and a support system for its members.
The main purpose of our club isnt really to get an amazing workout, Geis said. The point of it is to bring girls [together] that are involved in a lot of different things on campus or might not have found a way to meet each other.
Kalra joined Fit Like A Girl in January 2019 after a friend recommended the organization as a way to stay active with a group of girls with similar interests.
I always liked being in a group setting when I was working out, which, I thought, motivates people to work out and be active more so than if youre just going alone to the gym, said Kalra, a sophomore majoring in public policy.
Kalra is responsible for reaching out to various studios both within and outside of USC to see whether they would be willing to host a class.
[Last year], we went to a Jiu Jitsu studio that was run by a USC [alumnus], Kalra said. He kind of turned it into a self-defense class and that was really fun even though it is pretty serious to learn about self defense.
Fit Like A Girl was originally part of the organization CHAARG, a national institution that aims to ignite college girls with a passion for health and fitness. Due to $45 dues and limited events available on the West Coast, the founders decided to separate from CHAARG to start their own group.
[CHAARG] is a tremendous organization, said May, a sophomore majoring in public policy. We have so much respect for them. However, their commitment required a lot more of us than we thought was necessary.
Kalra said she benefits from having a group that holds its members accountable to living a healthy and active lifestyle.
One of our first workouts last semester was with Orange Theory, May said. We had over 60 girls and it was a really hard workout It was kind of empowering to see a bunch of girls work out together and also just fun to see people who wouldnt necessarily be friends or wouldnt necessarily meet each other in any other sphere of USC become friends.
For members like Geis, progress is going better than ever with all the hard work and commitment members have put into the message since Fit Like A Girl was founded at USC.
Im really proud of all our work because weve made a lot of great connections with different studios that are in L.A., Geis said. Thats made it a lot easier, especially this semester, to just reach out to people weve worked with already that we know.

Real Peloton Users Get Candid About What Using the Fitness Company’s Equipment Is Really Like – msnNOW
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/caticon.gif)
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/comicon.gif)
Provided by People Two months after the brand's holiday commercial went viral, real Peloton bike and Tread users open up about why they feel the fitness equipment is worth it
Two months ago, the Internet erupted in outrage over a commercial for popular fitness equipment company Peloton.
As many critiqued the holiday ad which features a woman being surprised by her husband with the brands $2,245 (and up) stationary bike and the company also dealt with an ongoing music rights legal battle, Pelotons real-life users went on the defensive.
I think people were putting their own insecurities and their own misconceptions into the commercial, but they werent really there, Chris Porta, a Virginia-based Air Traffic Controller who has been a Peloton member since July 2018, tells PEOPLE.
Echoes Courtney Hughes, a Texas Peloton member since March 2019, I thought people looked too far into it.
Peloton was founded in 2012 and is based in New York City. The companys main product is a stationary bicycle that allows users to participate in streamed spinning classes, either live or on-demand. Peloton also offers a treadmill, called the Tread, which starts at $4,295. The company offers payment plans for the equipment.
In addition, users also pay a monthly subscription fee of $39 for the wide array of classes.
The cost, members tell PEOPLE, is more than worth it.
Amy Wieland, a 56-year-old vice president at a software company in Florida, tells PEOPLE, I would say it was the best investment I ever made.
Wieland who has been a member since December 2018 adds, Theres no better investment than being able to have something that can take care of your health.
And Wieland, who has Multiple Sclerosis, knows the importance of health.
In 2018, I had a pretty severe [MS] relapse that started in August, says Wieland. I was hospitalized three or four times. And I got out of the hospital, I think in November. At Thanksgiving, I could only walk about three steps. In December, I started to walk a little bit more. I think I mightve been up to about 10 steps without assistance, but just with a walker or a cane.
Wieland used a bike at the hospital while undergoing rehabilitation, and then after watching some Peloton commercials, thought she could recreate the assistance at home.
For my first ride, my husband had to literally hold me on the bike, she recounts. And from there, I just fell in love with it and grew to being able to do 75 minutes on the bike. And I began to walk without any kind of assistance at all.
Wieland has since started a Facebook group just for other Peloton users with MS.
The support you get, everybody is so encouraging, she says.
The sense of community has been a huge selling point for many other users, including Hughes.
Hughes a 34-year-old who works in communications at Dell Inc. learned about the bike after her daughter McKenzie was born premature at 25 weeks, and subsequently spent five months in the NICU.
After bringing her home, most people assume that everythings fine and that is like the furthest thing from the truth, says Hughes. She came home on oxygen and machines that were monitoring her, and then we ended up getting a feeding tube. This whole process, it completely changed self-care for me.
Before welcoming her daughter Hughes says she was hitting the gym some to six days a week. She says: It got put to the very bottom of my list of things to do.
But Hughes craved the stress-release she felt after working out. The cost of care for her special needs child, she says, eliminated any budget for a gym membership. Then, she learned about Pelotons The Comeback program, which gifts the bike to those on an uphill climb who have been nominated.
I never win anything, she admits, but pushed herself to apply because Peloton was on my vision board.
It has been such a lifesaver for me, she says. It was never about losing weight or anything like that. For me it was always just about feeling good and working out makes me feel good.
Shes also a member of several Peloton Facebook groups, including Black Girl Magic: The Peloton Edition, she tells PEOPLE.
The community is behind you and supporting you and pushing you to be better.
Sabrina Kasner, a member of Peloton since March 2019, like Hughes, finds the ease of having fitness equipment at her home crucial.
The 30-year-old Wisconsin social worker was gifted the bike by her sister after undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and, ultimately, a double mastectomy for breast cancer in 2018.
Leaving the house and her two young children to get fit after her health crisis was too difficult, she says, and the cold weather in her area didnt help.
I live in the middle of nowhere, Kasner shares. We have eight months a year, pretty much, that its winter. And so being a mom and having to go out to work out, really once I got [to the gym], that was an accomplishment. Having the bike in my home, I can get the kids off to school, and have time to work out.
And like Hughes and Wieland, Kasner has found support online in a Peloton group just for riders who battled breast cancer.
And while many Peloton users espouse the overall health benefits of the companys products, weight loss is still one of the most frequent results.
Porta who saw a commercial for the bike during the Winter Olympics in 2018 said he knew he wanted to lose weight after hitting 330 pounds, so he bought the equipment.
I had never taken any spin classes before, so it was a totally new experience, he shares.
And now, Its basically sparked an entirely different lifestyle. Aside from physical changes Im going to brag a little bit here Im down 100 pounds from when I started.
But, again, what about the cost which many critiqued during the media circus that followed the dubbed sexist-commercial and the brands other ads which frequently showcase the equipment in glamorous homes, overlooking stunning landscapes?
I just try to get people to see that the upfront investment it may seem a lot upfront but long term, youre able to get more than any other equipment than you would use at home, says Charlis Penson, 40. The instructors are top-notch and youre changing your life. Its a great commitment to your health.
The Maryland-based medical device saleswoman has been a member since January 2016 and loves the equipment so much that when her family moved and her bike was lost, and her Tread left behind, they bought new ones.
What Peloton has done for me is beyond anything I could ever have imagined, she says. I invested in Peloton because I just wanted a workout. I ended up gaining so much more.

MORGANS POINT RESORT, Texas Aerial Yoga is a fitness trend thats all over social media. The pictures scream "Cirque du Soleil" and Ive been wanting to try it for years. So, when I found out Firefly Yoga and Movement studio in Morgan's Point was offering classes, I jumped at the chance to try it out. I also dragged my fianc Micah along too.
"You can improve your arm strength, you can improve your core strength, (and) you can invert," Owner Kelly Partyke said.
She said she fell in love with aerial yoga because it's so beginner-friendly.
Partyke showed us the slings, called yoga trapeze, and showed us each component.
"So there's the main sling here and then we also have our structure. The straps are what make it a little bit more accessible for everybody," Partyke said. "Basically so instead of a block or a strap, it would help with backbends and such."
She said anyone can do it, regardless of their experience. So, Micah and I gave it a try.
First, we stretched and then we swung around and upside down.
Partyke said, "A lot of us aren't used to being upside down. So, all that blood rushing to your head. They recommend between like 30 seconds to a minute the first time you go upside down. Then you can eventually get up to like 10 to 20 minutes."
According to Partyke, aerial yoga can help re-align the spine, decrease muscle soreness, increase relaxation and improve mood. It also provides an intense workout, since you're using lots of pulling movements and engaging your core.
"The feedback I've been getting is that they're sore, they feel like they got a good workout, but they're also laughing and having a good time," Partyke said.
There's no age limit, but the weight limit is about 300 pounds. Partyke said it isn't for people with certain back injuries or women who are pregnant.
It's a lot of fun. I mean that's really the biggest thing. I wanted to help people find health, that's what we want to do here, and so bringing something that's fun and exciting and adventurous," Partyke said.
It was a lot of fun, but you don't have to just take my word for it. Micah said he liked it too.
"I was intimidated before we got here but I think it's manageable. Id definitely do it for a fun date-night, Micah said.
You can find out more about aerial yoga, at Firefly Yoga & Movement Studios website or Facebook page.

Gautam Gambhir reveals why fitness has become an integral part in… – The Cricket Times
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/caticon.gif)
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/comicon.gif)
Former Indian opener and two-time world cup winning cricketer, Gautam Gambhir, recently called the game of cricket more physical in nature than it previously was.
Gambhir credits the shortest format of the game for the revolution of fitness amongst contemporary cricketers. The cricket-turned-politician claimed that the game concentrated on technique during his day and age. But now the sport witnessed a paradigm shift with the importance of fitness in the game.
If you look at the current teams players, they are physically very fit as compared to earlier times. It is because earlier, physical fitness was not given that much importance. Since T20 format has come, cricket has become a physical sport, Gambhir stated in a recent interview.
The Indian team has been strict regarding the selection criterion using fitness parameters using the yo-yo test. The likes of Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina have previously failed to cut into the Indian team, after failing the Yo-Yo Test.
With the influence of the Yo-Yo test, the Indian team fields one of the fittest teams in the circle as well as in the boundary.
When I started playing cricket, there was no T20 cricket. It was not a physical sport but was a technical one. But if now you are not physically fit, I do not think you can do well in any format, Gambhir quoted as saying by HT.
Also, the veteran cricketer urged young girls to take up the sport seriously as a profession, much like their male counterparts.
Gambhir cited the example of the current womens team, which went on to reach the finals and semi-finals of the recent ICC events.
If girls take up any sport, it is a big step towards our vision of making a sporting country. I would want girls to take cricket as seriously as men take it. If you look at the current womens team, they have played World Cup semi-finals and before that, they have been runners up of the World Cup. It is a very good sign for the country, resigned the 38-year old.

5 Fitness Tips To Improve Your Productivity – Thrive Global
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/caticon.gif)
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/comicon.gif)
Two of the most common goals people create are to be healthier and be more productive. What if you could kill two birds with one stone? With just a few minor changes to your routine along with steady discipline, you can improve your productivity with fitness at the forefront. Heres five tips to get you motivated and moving.
Work Out As Soon As You Wake Up
Kimberly Turner Bouldin, the Founder of FAByoulous Fitness, recommends exercising for at least 15-30 minutes every morning. This is enough time to get your blood flowing and give you lasting energy to tackle your daily to-do list.
My clients were seeing energy differences between when they came to the gym in the morning, says Bouldin, this is to make sure that endorphins get a jump start first thing in the morning. When you make working out your first priority, youre producing hormones within your body that will fuel you throughout the day.
Whether running, strength training, particularly cardio, try to continue the workout for at least 30 minutes to get the endorphins going. Ensure to snack before the workout to avoid any possible crash!
Strive For 10,000 Steps Per Day
Those steps you take every day do more than get you from point A to point B. Did you know that walking is the only form of exercise that does more than burn calories and build muscle? According to Jaime Morocco, Founder of Dream Body, Dream Life Academy, walking also reduces stress! Its no secret that less stress is better for the mind and body.
I give my clients a step goal to aim for 10000 steps a day. I have found that my clients are more creative and productive when theyre intentional about walking, Morocco says.
Walking is great because you can do it anytime. With more and more jobs becoming sedentary, its more vital than ever that we all get up and move throughout the day. Walking helps circulation, gives you an energy boost and can even help break through those annoying mental blocks. Increasing your daily steps will get your creativity and blood flowing better than ever.
Be NEAT
If youre short on time, listen up. The NEAT method is for people who are on a tight schedule with little wiggle room to go to the gym. Sammi Gregory, the founder of Sammi Gregory Fitness, uses the NEAT method for her time-crunched clients.
Neat stands for Non-Exercise, Energy, Activity and Thermogenesis. It sounds a bit complicated but in reality, the NEAT method is the easiest and most convenient way to put a little pep in your step, Gregory explains. to put it simply, the NEAT method is just putting forth a little extra effort to tend to your daily activities.
For example, if you go to the grocery store, make the conscious choice to park further away. If you need to clear snow from your driveway, opt for shoveling it rather than using a snow blower. Take your dog for a walk or play along in a game of fetch. Sweep and mop your floor rather than using a robot vacuum. These simple tasks will give you less time in the gym and more time to be productive.
Fill Your Diet With Fiber
Fiber helps lower cholesterol and rids our bodies of toxins. It balances blood sugar and increases satisfaction from the foods we eat. Boost your immunity with fiber from fruits and vegetables, especially with the skin left on them as theyre packed with the most fiber.
Personal trainer, Ebony Williams says that increased fiber intake has been shown to reduce common illnesses that often make their way through the workplace. Williams says, focusing on a balanced diet and increasing fiber intake, my clients are able to lose more weight and focus better while at work.
Increase your fiber intake through foods such as lentils, chia seeds, fruits and vegetables (with the skin on, particularly for fruitenjoy the peel with your apple slices!). We get a boost to our immune system when we consume more fiber and this has been shown to reduce those pesky colds and bugs that tend to float around and make us sick (which decreases productivity, increases absenteeism and reduces our ability to feel our best).
By staying healthy and feeling our best, we can remain productive and forget about taking sick days from work.
Boost Your Brain With Natural Supplements
Fitness helps to boost cognitive performance, physical well-being. But what can help to supplement extra nutrients is through cognitive enhancing supplements such as Nootropics. Nootropics, especially if naturally made, can help to boost productivity without causing any crash. Founder of Quantum Performance, Neal Thakkar, advocates for the use of natural supplements.
When you add these natural supplements to the existing productivity and performance routine you have, it takes everything to the next level! says Thakkar. Ive had my clients on these natural supplements, whether a natural-base nootropics or extra vitamins etc, and it led to significant increase in verbal fluency and focus.
Nootropics include brain improving ingredients such as omega3s and flavonoids. However, before considering any form of supplements, Thakkar highly recommends seeking a medical professional to determine the exact supplements that your body needs.
Thakkar says, go talk to your doctor first to make sure the supplements youre considering are the right fit for your body. Try to stick with natural ingredients as much as possible. As well, make sure that the supplement you take doesnt make you crash ESPECIALLY if youre considering nootropics!.
Now that youre equipped with these tips for productivity, theres only one question left. What are you going to accomplish first?

Government’s National Health Portal believes that digging ditches is a good fitness activity – Deccan Herald

Believe it or not, physical fitness is becoming an essential aspect of our lives to achieve optimum health and wellbeing nowadays. And at a time when we are constantly bombarded with tips to remain fit, National Health Portal believes that digging ditches is one of the best fitness activities.
On the National Health Portal website, digging ditches is listed under 'vigorous-intensity physical activity' that requires a large amount of effortwith rapid breathing and a substantial increase in heart rate. Among others 'heavy gardening (continuous digging),' is also included in this list, which is based upon the amount of energy used by the body while doing the activity.
National Health Portal, set up by the government under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, aims to provide healthcare-related information to the citizens of India and to serve as a single point of access for consolidated health information. The portal's goal is to become the "gateway to authentic health information for all".
The portal also suggests that carrying or shifting heavy loads of less than 20 kg is a good fitness activity.

Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and Henry Mayo Fitness and Health are celebrating National Heart Health Month with a series of events and classes for the Santa Clarita community.
Heart Month is a national campaign put on by the American Heart Association to bring awareness to the public so they know their risk and what theyre in control of, said Kim Brown, a registered dietician and nutritionist at Henry Mayo Fitness and Health. The ultimate goal really is to eradicate heart disease and stroke altogether.
National Heart Month kicked off on Feb. 7 with National Wear Red Day, when Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and Henry Mayo Fitness and Health joined the community in wearing red in an effort to raise awareness.
Next, on Friday, Feb. 14, a Heart Health Fair is planned at the Newhall Community Center from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
We will be doing free screenings for blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar and stroke, Brown said. They will have an ultrasound machine where they can check your main arteries for risk of stroke.
Resources and information are also expected to be provided, along with an Ask a Pharmacist session.
Then on Feb. 19, Brown is planning to teach a community education class called Heart Healthy Nutrition Whats On Your Plate? from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Henry Mayo Center.
Brown noted that the class will focus on, What to eat more of, what to eat less of, some of the things that we should be avoiding or at least limiting, (like) salt, sugar, processed foods. Just every way that you can to reduce your risk.
