A FULL-time working mum from Runcorn who lost almost three stone has opened her own fitness workshop in a bid to help others.
Lianne Seddon opened a new WW Wellness Workshop after her own wellness journey helped her achieve a positive mindset and lose 36 and a half pounds.
Her wellness journey in June 2017. She said: "I hated seeing myself in photos and knew that I didn't want another holiday where I was avoiding photos from the neck down.
"I joined the week after we got back from Spain in June 2017 but although I lost a stone by the September I then hovered for a good few months up and down with the same few pounds.
"It wasn't until April time last year I decided enough was enough and our Florida holiday was looming in November.
"When we went to Florida I had lost 35lbs and achieved my ultimate goal of not hiding from the camera.
"Lianne loved the programme that much she wanted to become a coach to help others reach their wellness goals."
Now, Lianne is bringing the leading programme to help those in the Runcorn & Widnes area.
Lianne said: "Now I am more aware of what I'm eating and I absolutely make smarter choices, I also know that having one bad meal or day won't affect my overall end goal.
"I've also started to exercise more as it really helps me lose inches and its not just about that number on the scales with WW"
When asked what Lianne likes about being a coach she said: "I love that I can relate to other people and inspire them to make the changes in their life that they want, whether this be to lose weight, get healthy or exercise.
"Because I am on the plan I am living proof it works and I am literally living the plan weekly with my members, I still go and get weighed and know how they feel.
WW Wellness Coaches go through five weeks of extensive training, that includes face to face workshops with guidance from WW Wellness Coach.

Screenshot: Save Money: Lose Weight S2 E2 ITV Hub
Although Noom was created back in 2008, it hasnt really picked up interest until the previous years where it has rocketed.
Aimed at millennials, Noom aims to transform peoples lives for the better, helping them either lose weight or obtain a healthier lifestyle.
Whether youre seeking to drastically lose weight or just wanting to learn to cook healthier meals and lead a healthier, happier lifestyle, this is the app for you.
It was designed with behavioural psychologists and nutritionists to help change lifestyles through monitoring patterned eating.
However, some may be put off buying the app, as it is one of the more expensive diet plans on the market coming in at 40 per month. Thats 480 per year!
The app takes in information about you, your weight and lifestyle, plus about how much andwhatyou tend to eat in your day-to-day. You can either fill out this initial questionnaire on their website or when you first download the app, via Apples App Store or Google Play Store.
It will then tailor an eating plan for you, helping you reach your target weight over the course of a set period. Recipes are also stored on Noom, which will be suggested for your meals every day.
Ann episode 2s guinea pig was restricted to just 1,200 calories per day.
The app allows you to eat what you want, following its guidelines. This is based around a colour coding system: red foods in minimal amounts, amber in moderation, and green is all you can eat!
If youre looking for motivation, be sure to check out the chat rooms for extra encouragement.
If you were wondering whether the Noom diet was worth the investment, it sure is!After just 28 days, Ann had lost a mega 1 stone 3 lbs.
The Express also reported that 77% of Noom users said they lost weight while using the app.
Although this diet still comes in at the most expensive they have looked at so far on the show, that doesnt make it any less effective.

How to lose visceral fat: Cooking with this oil could help reduce the harmful belly fat – Express
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/caticon.gif)

Visceral fat can build-up around internal organs, leading to adverse health consequences. To help keep levels of the harmful belly fat to a minimum, research has shown how cooking with one certain type of oil can do just that.
Studies reveal coconut oil is a great alternative to other oils when cooking, as it can lower the amount of visceral fat stored in your body.
One way to measure levels of visceral fat is to take out a measuring tape to record your waist and hip measurements.
Do note, to measure your waist correctly, the waistline is considered to be in line with your belly button.
It suggests men should have a waist to hip ratio of 0.95 or lower to dramatically reduce health risks.
For women, a measurement above 0.86 is also high risk. WHO recommend women to have a waist to hip ratio of 0.80 and below.
To illustrate the benefits of coconut oil, one study showed how medically obese men lost an average of 1.1 inches off their waists without altering their diet or exercise routine aside from consuming coconut oil everyday for 12 weeks.
Additionally, coconut oil tends to have a longer shelf life than some other fats, and is a great replacement for butter or vegetable oil.
As its solid at room temperature, coconut oil can be used when frying foods, greasing baking pans and can is useful in when baking.
Research has also shown that coconut oil is made up of medium-chain fatty acids, which may boost metabolism as well as a host of other health benefits.
Furthermore, coconut oil is less likely to stored in the body as (visceral) fat and is more readily available to be used as a source of energy.
Visceral fat is different from the wobbly bits of skin you can grab hold of. That type of fat is called subcutaneous fat.

WVDNR: Brain parasite has killed 30 percent of elk cows and calves imported from Arizona – Huntington Herald Dispatch
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/caticon.gif)
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/comicon.gif)
The aftereffects of West Virginias 2018 elk stockings have reared their ugly heads.
Almost one-third of the 46 elk cows and calves imported from Arizona died of brainworm in 2019, said Randy Kelley, elk project leader for the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
Kelley believes the U.S. Department of Agricultures insistence on keeping the elk penned up for 120 days, and then requiring an additional disease test, so weakened the animals physically that they were unable to survive.
If we had been able to release those elk promptly, and without having to recapture each one of them individually for re-testing, I think a lot more of them would have survived, Kelley said.
In 2016, when West Virginia imported its first batch of 24 elk from the Land Between the Lakes Elk and Bison Prairie in western Kentucky, the animals were captured, tested for diseases, and kept in Kentucky for 30 days before being shipped to the Tomblin Wildlife Management Area in Logan County for release.
But in 2018, when West Virginia obtained 60 elk from the state of Arizona, USDA officials insisted on a much more stringent handling protocol. The elk 50 cows and 10 bulls were tested and held for 30 days in Arizona, then were held an additional 90 days in West Virginia. Four of the cows died during that period, from injury or from stress.
We poured the feed and water into those elk, but the extra quarantine period lasted into June, Kelley said. Despite our efforts, those animals lost weight. And then, just before we released them, we had to capture them again for that second disease test. They were badly stressed when we finally released them.
The Arizona elk were set free just three months before the mating season began.
Between the extended quarantine and the stresses of the mating season, those animals were in poor condition headed into the winter, Kelley said. But then spring popped around, and thats when they should have had the opportunity to put on a lot of weight.
Indeed, the elk gorged themselves on West Virginias abundant greenery. But when they did, some of them accidentally ingested brainworms.
Brainworms are common in West Virginias white-tailed deer. The parasites dont appear to affect whitetails, but they can be deadly to other antlered animals, particularly elk and moose.
Kelley said elk dont get brainworms directly from deer; instead, they get them from snails or slugs.
The deer excrete brainworm eggs, and the eggs get ingested by snails and slugs, he explained. When elk graze on grass, they pick up the snails by accident. The worms work their way out of the elks rumens, get into the bloodstream and end up in the brain.
Once there, the brainworms burrow through the elks brains, creating holes that cause the animal to lose control of eating and other bodily functions.
The animal ends up wasting away, Kelly said.
Had the Arizona elk been in better condition, or had the spring of 2019 not been as wet as it was, Kelley believes more of the animals would have survived.
The wet spring meant we had a lot more snails and slugs than usual, he said. And, unfortunately, the cows and calves we released in 2018 started the spring of 2019 with low body weights after their long quarantine. That made them a lot more susceptible to brainworm infestations.
DNR officials expected to lose what Kelley calls a few elk a year to the parasite.
Anywhere elk are present in the eastern United States Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania some of them die from brainworm, he said. However, the losses we incurred last year were far beyond what we expected.
In ordinary elk populations, natural reproduction tends to compensate for brainworm-related losses. Kelley said West Virginias overstressed cows were unable to do that.
For us, overcoming losses is hard because we have so few elk on the ground, he added.
Headed into last spring, Kelley estimated the size of the states nascent elk herd at 85 to 95 animals. After the losses, he dropped the estimate into the 75-80 range.
That number should be over 100 by now, he said. If not for the [USDA], it would be.
Kelley said DNR officials are working to obtain more elk, but a recent recommendation by the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies is stalling the effort.
Last year, they recommended against transporting cervids across state lines, he explained. A lot of state agencies have taken that recommendation to heart. Until something changes, were pretty much on hold.

What do you do?
Well, answer number one is to scale down your exercise to a more manageable time-frame. If you were spending 2 hours in the gym, maybe just do a 30 minute circuit instead. Youll still get benefits from that.
Just do as much as you can in the amount of time that you have. What if its only 5 minutes? Then do a tabata (Google it) of squats or pushups. Again, youll be pooped in no time.
But what if you really cant do ANY exercise at all?
If your goal is to lose weight, then your diet is what REALLY matters.
Exercise is important for building and maintaining strength, toning, and burning a few extra calories, but it is not the thing thats going to make you lose the most weight.
So if you cant make the gym this week, thats okay. Just dont let your diet slip, too. Stay on track with the diet and get back to training as soon as you can. Thats all there is to it.

Penicuik woman takes a walk on the slimmer side – MidLothian Advertiser
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/caticon.gif)
![](https://www.dgw.tv/wp-content/themes/elegant-brit-b/images/comicon.gif)
Slimmer Sam Currie pulled on her hiking boots and walked her way thin shedding a whopping four stone and clocking up more miles in a year than a John OGroats to Lands End round trip.
Mum of one Sam (48), a civil servant from Penicuik, combined healthy eating with an increased exercise regime after hitting 16st and joining Slimming World in January 2018.
She wasnt happy in her size 18 clothes, but reckons she was kidding herself she was still fit and healthy because she was a regular gym goer.
Its only now, after shedding the extra pounds and dropping down to 12st and a size 12-14, that she sees how unhealthy her old lifestyle had really been.
Its in stark contrast to her routine now, which sees her easily walk an average of 40 miles a week 2000 miles in total in 2019.
She said: I thought that because I was going to the gym four times a week that I could eat and drink what I liked, but I was very wrong.
I ate lots of takeaways, and I enjoyed beer and wine whenever I wanted. And in between those gym visits, I didnt do much else to be active.
I only joined Slimming World because my sister-in-law was a newly-qualified consultant and I wanted to give her moral support.
When I stepped on the scales though, I got such a shock. I had no idea I was that heavy and burst into tears.
The tables had been turned. Id showed up to give my sister-in-law my support in her new job, but it was me who needed her support to get my weight under control once and for all.
Sam began to gain weight in her late teens. She was around 12st in 2001, aged 29, when she married husband Scott, now 47, a specialist plasterer.
While pregnant with son Lochlan, now 18, Sams weight soared to 15st 8lbs. She managed to lose around 4st with Slimming World, but she stopped attending her group and her weight rose as she yo-yo dieted on her own through her 30s and 40s.
Slimming Worlds recent Mind Your Language report looked at how using critical language around weight and body image can have a negative impact on self-esteem and can hinder attempts at weight loss, something Sam says she can relate to.
The report found that 60 per cent of British adults have struggled with their weight or body image and, of those, 74 per cent have used self-critical language when referring to their body image.
Sam said: Id convinced myself I was comfortable in my own skin before losing weight. I wasnt.
Id still refer to myself as chubby and talk about being bad if Id eaten something I shouldnt.
It wasnt until I got closer to my target weight that I realised I hadnt been comfortable in my own skin at all and that Id been so self-critical, so self-deprecating.
I had to change my mindset and Slimming World really helped me to do that.
My sister-in-law Caroline, also my consultant, pointed out the language I was using about myself and said that if I wouldnt dream of talking that way about someone else then I shouldnt talk about myself like that either.
Massive lifestyle changes also helped with Sams weight loss during her journey to losing four stone, with walking making the most difference.
Walking is her exercise of choice these days and as a trustee of the Tartan Army Childrens Charity she completed four 26-mile Kiltwalks for the fund last year.
After deciding to get rid of her car, she now walks at least 45 minutes per day and at least once a week she makes the nine-mile journey home from work on foot instead of taking the bus.
Sam added: I can now walk up Arthurs Seat and hold a conversation at the same time and thats a massive achievement for me.
I wasnt looking for a quick fix and I realised early on that you cant compare your weight loss journey to the person sitting next to you. Im 48 and menopausal Im not going to lose weight at the same rate as I did when I was in my 20s. But thats no reason to give up you can still do it. I feel 10 years younger and my energy levels are through the roof. If thats not a reason to smile then I dont know what is.
Sam also says menopausal symptoms including night sweats and hot flushes have greatly improved now shes leading a healthier lifestyle.
She said: I love that I can still enjoy foods like pasta and rice without having to weigh or measure it. Greatly reducing the amount of oil I cook with has been a revelation for me I only use low-calorie cooking spray now.
Most of all I love that the whole family eats what I do and they really enjoy it.
Slimming Worlds Mind Your Language report found that nearly three quarters of their members said their group made them feel as though they were not alone a sentiment that strikes a chord with Sam Currie.
She added: Attending my group every week is what keeps me going and motivates me to maintain this new healthy lifestyle.
Its like a second family. We all support each other and that support has been key in me achieving my goal.
Sam, whos 5ft 8ins, has completely transformed her eating habits.
Her days used to start with a bacon roll for breakfast, a cheese-laden baguette for lunch, and a calorific takeaway of a pizza or kebab washed down with a few beers for dinner along with crisps and sweets as snacks in between.
These days she prefers a breakfast of overnight oats with fresh fruit, a healthy lunch of leftover low-fat homemade spaghetti bolognaise, and a delicious dinner of home-made chicken and lentil curry to satisfy her love of Indian food.
Midweek drinking has been knocked on the head and Sam instead likes to have a few spirits with diet mixers at the weekend instead of beers.
It took 17 months for Sam to hit her target weight of 12st in June last year. Losing four stone through simple adjustments to her daily life in that time.
Medication she had taken for a decade for reflux was no longer needed after just one month following her new eating plan and her persistent insomnia faded too.

I dont feel useless anymore. Ive got a purpose in life.
This time last year Daniels scales were telling him his weight stood at 24 stone.
Now, seven and a half stone lighter, the 27-year-old has seen his diabetes go into remission, he is cured from a sleeping disorder and his overall mental health has improved dramatically.
Looking back on what has been a pivotal year in his life, Daniel said: I feel losing weight has made me a better person. Ive learnt I can push myself more.
With the support Ive got, I feel that I can do anything. Previously Ive not felt that.
Its given me a massive confidence boost.
The simple thing of being able to go into a shop and buy jeans without going online and being able to wear a PNE shirt because I can fit into it now is amazing.
Daniel, who also has autism, had tried to lose weight a number of times before he finally struck gold and got his weight down to 16 and a half stone.
I knew I needed to change because Ive got a lot of health problems, he said. Im diabetic.
I struggle with a lot of pain in my hips, thats why I walk with a crutch.
Ive been told I have high cholesterol.
I had joined Slimming World a few times but I just put the weight back on. This time last year it was Christmas and I knew I needed to get going again.
I was trying to put it off until my birthday on January 18 but I had that many people say I needed to go (to Slimming World) I decided to bite the bullet and I went back on January 9.
This time Daniel decided he had to be really strict with himself over his diet and exercise regime so he followed the Slimming World plan to the letter.
Slowly Daniel built up his trips to the pool for his aqua aerobics sessions and in a massive boost to his confidence, he was also selected to stand as a Conservative councillor. He was successfully voted onto Preston City Council to represent Sharoe Green in May.
Daniel said: I was doing a lot of campaigning in May, getting out and about. I was also doing aqua aerobics once a week, slowly climbing to three or four times a week. I love the personal trainers, they are absolutely amazing.
Having the confidence to stand as local councillor and being selected as well has driven me.
My family has been amazing. I cant thank my mum Dawn and dad David enough. I have had a lot of support this year.
I have cured my sleep apnea by bringing my weight down. I used to have to wear a machine at night which looked like an oxygen mask. I was in that for quite a number of years. I dont need that machine anymore.
I always struggled sleeping and I couldnt just doze off like that. I was really low in energy and very fatigued so I was put on the machine to help me.
Now my energy levels are better because Ive lost the weight and Ive also managed to put my diabetes in remission.
Just by losing the weight I have managed to improve a lot of the conditions that Ive got.
I didnt expect it because Ive done Slimming World before and I always lost three or four stone then fell off the bandwagon again.
Even my mental health improved.
I still struggle with depression but my mental health has improved overall. I feel I have more to live for.
I dont feel useless anymore. Ive got a purpose in life.
Over the last year there have been a lot of highlights for Daniel but its not all been plain sailing either.
Daniel has a slipped upper femoral epiphysis which means he suffers quite a bit of pain in his hips and has to walk with a crutch.
He said: Although I lost all this weight Im still in a bit of pain. Im on a lot of medication to help the pain.
With my hips the swimming isnt a problem because it doesnt put any pressure on them.
I want to lose more weight in 2020. I am now 16 and a half stone. I started at 24 stone. Im aiming for 14 stone.
If I dont see things happening I get really downhearted. I like to lose weight the next day but thats not going to happen.
Ive been told I look younger, its been great.
People have been following my progress on Facebook. The amount of comments Ive got saying Dan you look so well.
I even did a charity sleep out even though Im disabled. It was my idea to do it as a Conservative group.
I think I was holding myself back by not losing weight. Last year was the first time I went abroad on my own as well. I went to Benidorm and rented a scooter, it was amazing.
This year I just want to build on what I did last year, level out and maintain what Im happy with.
I just want to make my mum and dad proud.
