Here’s What Heartland Group Holdings Limited’s (NZSE:HGH) P/E Is Telling Us – Yahoo Finance

This article is written for those who want to get better at using price to earnings ratios (P/E ratios). We'll look at Heartland Group Holdings Limited's (NZSE:HGH) P/E ratio and reflect on what it tells us about the company's share price. Based on the last twelve months, Heartland Group Holdings's P/E ratio is 15.60. That means that at current prices, buyers pay NZ$15.60 for every NZ$1 in trailing yearly profits.
Check out our latest analysis for Heartland Group Holdings
The formula for P/E is:
Price to Earnings Ratio = Price per Share Earnings per Share (EPS)
Or for Heartland Group Holdings:
P/E of 15.60 = NZ$1.72 NZ$0.11 (Based on the trailing twelve months to June 2019.)
The higher the P/E ratio, the higher the price tag of a business, relative to its trailing earnings. That isn't necessarily good or bad, but a high P/E implies relatively high expectations of what a company can achieve in the future.
We can get an indication of market expectations by looking at the P/E ratio. You can see in the image below that the average P/E (11.3) for companies in the banks industry is lower than Heartland Group Holdings's P/E.
NZSE:HGH Price Estimation Relative to Market, December 13th 2019
Heartland Group Holdings's P/E tells us that market participants think the company will perform better than its industry peers, going forward. The market is optimistic about the future, but that doesn't guarantee future growth. So investors should always consider the P/E ratio alongside other factors, such as whether company directors have been buying shares.
Companies that shrink earnings per share quickly will rapidly decrease the 'E' in the equation. That means unless the share price falls, the P/E will increase in a few years. Then, a higher P/E might scare off shareholders, pushing the share price down.
It's great to see that Heartland Group Holdings grew EPS by 16% in the last year. And it has bolstered its earnings per share by 4.7% per year over the last five years. So one might expect an above average P/E ratio. Unfortunately, earnings per share are down 1.2% a year, over 3 years.
It's important to note that the P/E ratio considers the market capitalization, not the enterprise value. Thus, the metric does not reflect cash or debt held by the company. In theory, a company can lower its future P/E ratio by using cash or debt to invest in growth.
Such spending might be good or bad, overall, but the key point here is that you need to look at debt to understand the P/E ratio in context.
The extra options and safety that comes with Heartland Group Holdings's NZ$57m net cash position means that it deserves a higher P/E than it would if it had a lot of net debt.
Heartland Group Holdings has a P/E of 15.6. That's below the average in the NZ market, which is 20.0. The net cash position gives plenty of options to the business, and the recent improvement in EPS is good to see. The below average P/E ratio suggests that market participants don't believe the strong growth will continue. Since analysts are predicting growth will continue, one might expect to see a higher P/E so it may be worth looking closer
Story continues
Investors have an opportunity when market expectations about a stock are wrong. If the reality for a company is not as bad as the P/E ratio indicates, then the share price should increase as the market realizes this. So this free visualization of the analyst consensus on future earnings could help you make the right decision about whether to buy, sell, or hold.
Of course, you might find a fantastic investment by looking at a few good candidates. So take a peek at this free list of companies with modest (or no) debt, trading on a P/E below 20.

Le’Veon Bell Has Been Drug Tested 5 Times This Year — and He’s Furious – Sportscasting

After holding out all of last season, LeVeon Bell signed a four-year contract with the Jets this offseason, worth more than $50 million. Hes experienced a disappointing first season in New York, and now hes making headlines for an off-the-field issue.
Bell believes the NFL is targeting him for drug testing more than other players possibly because of his two drug suspensions in 2015 and 2016. The running back has already been tested five times this year, and he is getting really frustrated about it.
According to the league and players association, NFL players are randomly chosen to be tested for performance-enhancing drugs and recreational drugs, including marijuana. All players are subject to testing throughout the year, with tests often performed during the first two weeks of training camp.
Players in the NFLs drug program are subject to more frequent testing up to six tests per year. Testing involves both an A sample and a B sample, with the B sample serving as a second sample for confirmation if the A sample comes up positive for a banned substance.
Bell tweeted that he has had 5 random HGH blood test[s] in 10 weeks, and hes not doing another after today. Since he is under the six-test limit, if Bell is asked to take another test and refuses, he could face a suspension.
The 27-year-old has already been suspended twice for drug-related violations. After being charged with DUI and marijuana possession in 2014, he was suspended for two games in the 2015 season.
Then, in 2016, he was suspended four games for a missed drug test, which the league considers the same as a failed test. Neither of those suspensions were related to performance-enhancing drugs or HGH, which is what Bell has been tested for five times this year.
Given his history with marijuana, the wide receiver thinks hes being singled out, rather than being subjected to random tests. He said he feels like every time the testers are at the Jets facility to perform HGH testing, he gets picked.
While it seems like Bell is upset with being chosen to be tested so often, he says his real issue is the way hes being tested by having blood drawn. He doesnt like needles, and that is whats bothering him about all of the recent tests.
The wide receiver says if the NFL wants to have him pee in a cup to be tested, he can do that all day, but he doesnt want anything to do with needles.
Peeing in a cup isnt an option for HGH testing. Unlike marijuana, HGH cant be detected in urine and drawing blood is the only reliable test for the substance. This doesnt matter to Bell, who threatens that the league isnt getting no more of my blood. They can use the blood theyve got now.
Between Bells disappointing season and the Jets being in rebuild mode, it seems like the circumstances could lead to a separation between the two after this season. However, the money situation may prevent it from happening.
If the Jets cant trade Bell in the offseason, they are unlikely to cut the veteran running back. It would be a $19 million charge in dead money if the team cuts him.
Bell can opt-out of the last two years of the deal after 2020, but he is unlikely to do so if his lack of production continues next season. At that point, though, the Jets may be more willing to cut him because the cap hit will continue to decrease as time goes on.

How to lose weight like this guy who lost 28 kgs with a unique approach to weight loss instead of dieting – GQ India – What a man’s got to do

While there are plenty of fad weight loss diets available on the Internet for free chances are that most of these diet plans will not be able to help you achieve your target weight loss goal. Why? Well, most fad diets are time bound eating practices, which essentially suggest starving yourself or cutting down a major chunk of healthy food from your life in order to lose weight.
Reads kind of nutty right? It indeed does. Not only is this approach to weight loss extremely unhealthy, it is also unreliable as once you stop following it, youll regain all the weight youve lost in a matter of days/months. So, what can one do to lose weight in a sustainable manner? To take a page from 22-year-old Sumeet Manohares book, you can first: not starve yourself and second: not put a timeline on your weight loss journey.
Sumeet tells us that it took him 3 years to trim from a whopping 106 kgs to 78 kgs. Being obese never felt good to me. I always imagined myself as a really fit and confident person, who could wear fit clothes. So, in 2015 I decided to join the gym, he says.
But during my transformation journey, I lost hope so many times! Until, I came across a friend's Super Fat to Super Fit transformation. At that time, I had given up on my own journey but after looking at her before and after pictures, and also just talking to her about the whole process, I was motivated to get back to the gym and try once again, he adds.
By 2018, Id lost 28 kgs and heres the real deal, I didn't lose any weight by following a strict diet, starving myself or by taking any fat burners. My weight loss journey has been a slow yet effective ride. Below is the weight loss routine that helped him lose 28 kgs.
I joined a gym in May 2015 and started working out. It was disheartening to find out that I couldn't even do a single push-up. I had to do it by resting my knees on the floor. In fact, initially, I struggled with many simple exercises.
As I got comfortable with exercising, I started making changes in my diet as well. I reduced eating junk food though I never ate excess of it and also made these changes:
- Walk for 20 minutes after dinner or perform Vajrasana after eating (it aids faster digestion)
- I stopped sitting and watching TV as soon as I finished eating as well
He also charted a new diet plan for himself, minus the junk food.
My diet was and still is centered around homemade Indian food. I have never consumed any kind of supplements.
Early Morning: Warm Water with Lemon juice
**Breakfast: Oatmeal (Oats + Milk + Apple/Banana + Homemade Peanut Butter) / Poha / Upma with Oats / Oats Apple/Banana Pancakes / Omelette
Lunch: Vegetables with 2 Rotis, Daal & Salad
Evening Pre-Workout: Chana Chaat (Homemade) / Any Fruit / Brown Bread with Peanut Butter
Post-Workout: 2 or 3 Egg Whites
Dinner: Vegetables + 2 Rotis, Salad and Daal / Rice with veggies or Biryani.
Snacks (through the day): Nuts / Peanuts / Homemade Peanut butter (Without Sugar)
During the initial period, I followed a basic workout routine which was mostly just cardio.
I did Cardio which included Treadmill, Cross trainer, Cycling for 15 min each. And other exercises such as Push ups, Body Weight Squats, Skipping, Bending with Stick, etc.

After a month of doing only cardio, my trainer included weight training in my workout schedule. This was the routine that I followed:
Monday - Chest & Shoulders
Tuesday - Biceps & Triceps with Cardio
Wednesday - Legs & Back
Thursday - Chest & Shoulders
Friday - Biceps & Triceps with Cardio
Saturday - Legs & Back
Even though this was an effective workout routine, I couldn't lose much weight. I was hardly consistent at gym and skipped twice or thrice a week. Also, I believe that my mind was not at peace at that phase. I left the gym multiple times and lost all hopes to get in shape. It was in July 2017 when I decided to give one more try. However, this time even my parents thought that gym isn't the right option for me as they saw my progress over the years. But, I was pretty sure that I'm gonna prove everyone wrong this time.
In 2017, I started following the below Full Body Exercise regime. And I exercised twice a day for three months, at home in the morning and at the gym in the evening (not advisable to everyone).
Morning - Exercises for Abs which included overall core strength exercises (With the help of an Android app)
Evening - Gym
Monday - Chest, Shoulders and Biceps
Tuesday - Cardio and Full Body Exercises
Wednesday - Legs and Back
Three sets of each exercise with 12-15 reps.
1. Plate & Dumbbell (12 3)
2. Burpees (12 3)
3. Superman + Burpees (12 3)
4. Jumping Jack (30 2)
5. Skipping (100+)
Stay consistent. This is the only advice or tip I could give to anyone trying to get fit by losing weight or even gaining it. Do not just focus on losing weight. Do not check weigh scale every single day instead focus on your workout. Because once you start loving and enjoying working out, you won't need to check your weight. You could feel being healthy, light and much happier than before. Also, don't join gym just because I or someone else did. Do what you really enjoy doing. Go run, do Yoga, play a sport or whatever activity that you enjoy.

My name is Danni Woessner (@ketowithdanni). I am 27, living in Massachusetts. For the past year I have been a stay-at-home mom but I recently went back to work as a behavior therapist. An embarrassing travel experience opened my eyes to the fact that I was nearly 400 pounds, so I experimented with various diets until I found (and fell in love with) keto.
I have been overweight since childhoodand I remember being made very aware of just how overweight I was at a very young age. I was active in high school as a swimmer but never really got my weight under control despite doing so much physical activity.
After high school, I lost a significant amount in a very unhealthy way but quickly regained it (and then some) after I had my first child several years ago. That's when my weight issues got really out of control.
I was a yo-yo dieter for years. I remember doing Atkins in 2015, after giving birth, and losing 60 pounds. But I slowly ate my way back up to almost 400 pounds. I suffered from binge eating and often hid how much food I was actually consuming throughout the day.
Three McDoubles for a quick snack? Sure. That was an average Tuesday for me. Vegetables were not a part of my diet and exercise felt impossible. I couldnt walk for more then a few minutes without being winded. I felt like food made me my worst self.
I was so excited for the trip. I knew I had been gaining weight but I was still going to enjoy my vacation. That was until I got on the plane and the seatbelt no longer fit. The belt had been snug for years for me, but I could still sit (albeit uncomfortably) without a seatbelt extender.
Asking for an extender crushed me. I had to find someone willing to change seats, because in the emergency aisle you cant wear a seatbelt extender. Having the whole plane stare at the overweight girl trying to make herself fit through the aisle was gut wrenching.
We enjoyed our honeymoon, but I was lazy on the trip. I didnt want to do much and moving was tough for me. And when I saw photos from our trip? It finally dawned on me on how big I was.
I tried Beachbody and lasted about 10 days. I looked into WW (formerly known as Weight Watchers) but only lasted a few days.
So, I started following a lot of people on Instagram that had similar stories and experiences to mine who had successfully lost a lot of weight on this so-called keto diet thing. I was intrigued. That's not to say those other diets didn't have great success stories too, but I personally felt like I really connected to the keto stories I read.
At the end of July 2018, I took the plunge and started eating keto. It was hard to navigate at first as I learned how to count and track my macros and how to measure how much fat, overall calories, and carbs to take in each day.
But eventually I got the hang of it and have been successful ever since. My biggest success tool has been tracking my food intake and macros, as it has made me aware of what Im putting in my body and prevents me from overeating. Ive also started adding in intermittent fasting.
In the beginning of my weight-loss journey, I didnt work out. I currently still do not have a solid workout routine. But when I was losing the bulk of my weight, I was kickboxing a few days a week.
Everyone's weight-loss journey will go differently. You have to trust the process. The scale is not always your friend, and thats ok. Those three numbers are just numbers. If youre putting in the work, it will work. It didnt take one day to gain the weight, and it will take longer than one to lose it.
For me, once I figured out the basics of keto, it was so much easier than I could have ever imagined. It helps that there are so many keto-friendly recipes that are just incredible. Though sometimes I do indulge in non-keto foods, I dont feel compelled to that often because it is so easy to make anything keto-friendly...and *just* as delicious as non-keto versions, I swear.
I want other women to know that you can change. You are not stuck at your current weight. If you are unhappy and just fed up, do it! Do your research, come up with a plan, and start. You can completely change your life whenever you're ready.

What Disease Does Gigi Hadid Have and How Did She Get It? – Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Anyone who knew Gigi Hadid as Yolanda Hadids older daughter onReal Housewives of Beverly Hillswouldnt recognize the supermodel now. Gigi has changed a lot. Shes thinned out, gotten much taller, and her face has changed a little as well.
On her mothers reality show, Gigi was a teenager who loved cake and gruyere cheese. Now that shes grown up so much, fans wondered what she had to give up to lose weight. After persistent online attacks saying she did drugs, Gigi came clean about what happened.
Thats not Gigis style. In fact, she wasnt really trying to lose weight. Anyone who has seen her onReal Housewives of Beverly Hillscould believe that. Gigi never seemed to be invested in her diet, despite her mothers encouragement.
Gigi is more concerned with being healthy. Shes been diagnosed with Hashimotos disease. The condition affects thyroid function. The thyroid is an important gland, and when its not functioning correctly people experience a host of nasty symptoms.
Hashimotos is an autoimmune disorder. That means Gigis own body essentially attacks her thyroid. The thyroid can become permanently damaged if the condition is left untreated. Bloating and fatigue are common symptoms of Hashimotos, and Gigi admits shes struggled with them.
Now that Gigi has been properly diagnosed, shes taking medications to regulate her body. That means shes no longer bloated, which she says makes her look skinnier.
Gigis disease is only treatable, not curable. She has things under control for now, but shell probably need to take medications for the rest of her life. Thats why she says her goal is health, not weight loss.
In fact, according to Gigi, she hasnt changed her diet at all. Shes physically better, and the treatment of her autoimmune disease has caused her body to metabolize things differently. She doesnt care if shes skinny or chunky, or anywhere in between. She just wants to feel well.

Our first stops this morning were to two UNICEF supported schools, one urban pre-school in Kolda and one village elementary school outside the city. The most impactful support from UNICEF for these schools is the teacher training and provided educational materials like School-in-a-Box (pictured). For the elementary schools in the villages, there are less kids and not enough teachers, so training includes teachers learning to handle dual-grade classes while still maintaining quality education. Previously, pre-school was something that only high-income families had access to. Studies show that children here who start at this level are more likely to go further with their schooling, but only 17% of children here have access to and attend a pre-school. As well early development education, French is introduced to their local dialect in pre-school, so they are up to date linguistically and more developed mentally and educationally when they enter elementary school. Because this prevents early school-dropouts and significantly improves learning outcome, it is important that community leaders spread awareness of where pre-schools are accessible (regardless of the families economic status), and educating parents on the importance of putting their child in school early; UNICEF is supporting rural communities in setting up their own local pre-schools and encouraging district education government in setting up pre-schools within elementary schools that already exist. The Education Chiefs main goal is equity and quality of education for these children. In the village elementary school, three classrooms accommodate about 180 children; this is where we were explained the major need for UNICEF funded teacher dual-grade training. At this time, 110 teachers have been trained (leaders say they are planning on training 180 more) in the surrounding areas of Kolda so that it is possible for the 286 multi-grade classes to function and educate as many children as possible.

Unfortunately, doctors still dont know how or why people get Hashimotos. In addition to fatigue and bloating, symptoms include difficulty regulating body temperature, dry skin, hair loss, and muscle aches.
Gigi had to go through some trial and error to get the right treatment. She even participated in a medical trial.
Gigis mother and brother have their own medical struggles. Yolanda and Anwar have chronic Lyme disease. Bella, Gigis younger sister, has also been diagnosed with the disease in the past.
Chronic Lyme disease is a controversial diagnosis. Most doctors believe that Lyme disease is cured by antibiotics, and that there are no lasting effects on the patient post treatment.
Some people have experienced symptoms of illness following Lyme disease diagnosis. These symptoms include extreme fatigue, muscle aches, and cognitive issues.
Even though the medical establishment does not believe Lyme disease has lasting effects on the body, some doctors will treat patients who have these symptoms following a Lyme diagnosis. Bella receives holistic medicine that helps control her symptoms and allows her to live a normal life.
Gigi also uses some holistic methods to treat her Hashimotos. Shes willing to try anything to be able to alleviate her symptoms. Because of her hidden medical struggles, Gigi tried to remind followers on Twitter that you never really know what someone is going through.
Bullying and online trolling hurts. We never know who is suffering in silence, and Gigi wishes people would try to build up others rather than tear them down.

Weight loss: I shed 6st so I could tie the knot in size 12 wedding dress of my dreams – The Sun

EMMA Bass felt sick to her stomach as she saw a photo of herself "bursting" out of her dress at a work Christmas party.
The children's nanny, 39, had ballooned to a staggering 16 stone after scoffing biscuits and gorging on double dinners for as long as she could remember.
10
And Emma, from Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, was completely horrified when she saw just how much weight she had piled on over the years.
Determined to slim down in time for her wedding day, Emma overhauled her diet and has since shed an incredible six stone.
She tied the knot to her love of her life Russell Bass, 44, in a trim size 12 bridal gown - and is now happier than she's ever been.
Emma said: "It was something I did myself, nobody else did it for me. It was hard work, but it was a real achievement."
10
Emma admits she had always struggled with her weight since childhood - and was bullied at school because of her size.
I was overweight at school and would get bullied," Emma said.
"At home, food was always there. There would be a pudding with every meal.
I did lose some weight when I was 15, but the bullies found something else to pick on, so I went back to my old ways.
As an adult, I tried different diets, but never really stuck to anything, and eventually got to 16st 3lb and was wearing a size 22."
10
At that point, 5ft 4in Emma had a body mass index (BMI), used to measure a healthy weight, of 38.5 compared to the NHS recommended figure of between 18.5 to 24.9, meaning she was obese.
However, Emma, who has a son Zac, eight, and a teenage stepson, continued to gorge on huge amounts of food to deal with her emotions.
She said: "Food had always been a massive comfort to me, so I had grown used to eating on my feelings and had just been getting bigger and bigger.
"I told myself I didnt care what I looked like, but really I was feeling so rubbish about myself.
"My self-esteem was at rock bottom, so I didnt feel like it mattered what I was eating."
10
Despite this, Emma soon realised the huge toll it was having on her life - especially the physical demands that came with her nannying job.
She said: "I always had bad knees and my back always hurt.
"I had quite a physical job as a nanny and found getting the children in and out of the car quite hard.
I never had any portion control and would eat a lot of carbs, like a big portion of lasagne and chips for tea
"I never had any portion control and would eat a lot of carbs, like a big portion of lasagne and chips for tea.
"I would sometimes eat two dinners, eating my main meal at work then a bowl of cereal when I got home, or the other way round.
"Id sit with a friend and wed think nothing of sharing a whole packet of biscuits between us."
10
Emma's weight meant she also struggled with dating - which just made her spiral into an even deeper depression.
She added: "I went on dating apps, but that was bad for my confidence. Id look my best in the picture, but when dates meet me theyd realise Im a bigger girl and that would be it.
"Ive got a history of depression, so looking after myself hasnt always been important.
"I always found if I was having a bad patch I would turn to food for comfort and my healthy lifestyle became more of a battle."
10
However, Emma's wake-up call came when she saw a picture of herself at her work Christmas party.
She continued: "I knew I was big, but the turning point came after seeing myself in a photo from a work Christmas do in December 2015.
"Id felt quite glamorous on that night. I liked the dress Id bought, so it was quite a shock when I saw the picture and realised how big I was.
"It felt like every bit of me was bursting out of the dress."
Shortly after, Emma visited the doctor for a review of her contraceptive pill - and it was there she was referred to slimming club WW.
I knew I was big, but the turning point came after seeing myself in a photo from a work Christmas do
Emma soon signed up to the group and gradually saw the pounds drop off.
"The WW system would give me control over my portion sizes," she said.
"Nothing was off limits which really helped.
"My weight loss journey has been slow its taken me three and a half years and a lot of hard work because I did it in small steps, rather than having a massive loss but its worked.
"Mine isnt a typical story really.
10
"My weight came off very slowly and there were set backs, as I had some short relationships which had ended, but its still significant and I want people to know that losing weight is different for everyone, and not to give up."
By January 2017, Emma met her now-husband Russell online and the following December he proposed at the ice rink at the Natural History Museum in London.
This spurred Emma on to lose more weight - as she was eager to look her best in her wedding dress.
"The wedding was planned for that July, so for the next six months I had a massive incentive to motivate me," she said.
10
"I started going to the gym and invested in a personal trainer, having previously done no exercise.
"I would go to the gym two or three times a week.
"I got a step tracker and started walking into work, becoming quite competitive about getting my steps in."
Emma added: "I bought my wedding dress in January and it was a size 16, but I should have bought a size 12, as by the time of our wedding my body shape changed so much, because of the exercise.
"The alterations cost almost as much as the dress!
10
"I know a lot of brides buy a dress too small as motivation, but I didnt want that kind of pressure.
"If Id fallen over and broken my leg and not been able to exercise I would never have lost that weight."
Before the wedding, Emma enjoyed the fruits of her labour in the gym when she bought a size 14 playsuit for her hen night, which made her "feel on top of the world."
She said: "It had always been a real challenge finding things that had fitted. I would hide away in baggy clothes, but this was completely different.
Im a lot more energetic and doing things I never thought I would do now
"It was an amazing feeling wearing the playsuit, then going on to walk down the aisle in my wedding dress, knowing I was looking the best I possibly could."
Wearing her wedding dress was just one of the many memorable experiences that made Emmas weight loss feel worthwhile.
She said: I cried when I bought my first pair of size 12 shorts. And it was a monumental feeling dropping into the 10 stone bracket in March this year.
10
As a child, I lost weight to stop the bullying and, as an adult, if I lost weight it would be to please someone in a relationship, but this time I really did it for me."
Emma is now a lot more active and has become a running fanatic.
She added: "Im a lot more energetic and doing things I never thought I would do now, like completing the coach to 5k running app.
If youd told me when I was a size 22 that Id be doing that and taking part in park runs I would never have believed you.
