Results dont happen overnight and youll have to be a little patient in the beginning.
Here are a few things to keep in mind:
1. TRANSITION TIME. It can take two weeks (and sometimes longer) for your body to adapt to burning fat instead of burning sugar, and during this time you might experience keto flu (see the section about for 6 tips to get over keto flu).
While keto flu feels uncomfortable (symptoms include headaches, fatigue, and nausea), its often a sign that your body was highly dependent on sugar/carbohydrates and is now becoming keto-adapted.
2. WEIGHT FLUCTUATIONS. You might see short term fluctuations in weight due to water retention, particularly if youre a woman (yep, its hormone-related). So dont stress out if you see your weight go up a few pounds even. For more on being a thriving woman, listen to podcast episode 022.
3. LONG TERM SUCCESS. Most people who stick with the diet long-term see meaningful results as all those success stories above have demonstrated. By making a commitment to stick with the diet for at least a month youll give yourself the best possible chance of seeing success. Of course, many people see results after just a week or two, but we just dont want you to stress out if youre not seeing results quite so quickly.
There has been nothing to indicate that being in ketosis long term is harmful and many people swear by it long term as a great way to live. But the science on this is young stillunless you consider the possibility that people in prehistoric times might have been pretty ketogenic considering they ate mostly a diet of meat (including all the organs and probably bone marrow, which are very fatty) and some vegetables.
However, as Chris Kelly pointed out on a webinar, its likely well never have accurate data on this point since you cant really perform a study where you put a group of people on a ketogenic diet for their entire life and make sure they dont eat anything else.
We highly recommend doing keto the healthy way as itll help you lower inflammatory, heal deficiencies, and lose weight and keep it off.

You definitely dont need to measure ketone levels or even achieve high ketone levels to lose weight on a ketogenic diet! But
That said, it can be helpful to measure your blood ketone levels in order to troubleshoot any issues and to make sure youre on the right track. Wed recommend getting a blood ketone meter and the accompanying ketone measuring strips.
The urine sticks are just not very accurate and dont provide you much info.
KETO IS HARD TO STICK TO: One of the main complaints people have about keto is that it is restrictive and hard to stick to.
And we know from first hand experience that it can be tough especially if you like going out to eat or socializing with friends (honestly, who doesnt!!).

1. HAVE A DETAILED GOOD PLAN.It helps to know exactly what to eat every day. None of us have time to count carbs or figure out which recipes are Keto and delicious to eat.

2. KNOW WHAT YOULL DO IN EMERGENCIES.Most people fall off the keto wagon when theyre traveling or during a stressful period at work or at home. The best way is to recognize that this might happen to you and to prepare for it. Prepare keto snacks to take with you when you travel or have to work late. Think about where you might be able to get a keto meal at a restaurant if you need to (steak restaurants are great!).
3. TRY NEW KETO FOODS.It can be easy to get bored with a new diet, especially one that doesnt include many of the foods you typically eat. So, be curious and look up new recipes to keep you interested and your taste-buds satisfied. Check out our Keto cookbooks for ideas.

Und so geht's: Positioniert Euch unterhalb der Hantelstange und umgreift sie etwas breiter als schulterbreit. Die Hantelstange sollte auf Eurer Schultermuskulatur aufliegen. Der Stand ist hftbreit, die Fe sind leicht nach auen gespreizt, der Blick nach vorne gerichtet. Bewegt nun Euer Ges nach unten, bis Ihr mit den Knien einen 90 Grad Winkel bildet. Wichtig: Rcken gerade! Die Knie sollten noch leicht hinter den Fuspitzen sein. Am tiefsten Punkt das Gewicht kurz halten, dann wieder in die Streckung gehen.

Weve all tried diets in the past and know how difficult it can be to lose weight and keep it off. The HCG diet isnt the newest fad, miracle cure, or food delivery service. In fact, the HCG diet has been around since the 1950s when the protocol was created by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons.
Simply put, the HCG hormone allows you to maintain a very low calorie diet (VLCD), while eliminating hunger pangs.The easy-to-take drops allow your body to unlock stored fat around the midsection (hips, belly, bottom, and thighs) as well as the upper arms. We provide you with not only the hormone-includedHCG drops, but the step-by-step specifics of the diet. You will know when to start, what to eat, how to track your progress, and all the information you need to safely transition off of the diet once you have reached your goal.
Dr. A.T.W. Simeons formally published the HCG Diet in the 1950s. Since then it has gained popularity at a very fast pace. The original HCG diet was published in Italy, where Dr. Simeons was practicing as an endocrinologist. Having worked with the endocrine system and being very familiar with its function, Dr. Simeons knew that there was something out there that could help, if not cure, obesity. At the time, Dr. Simeons had no way of predicting the need for products like HCG. Currently, more than one-third of US adults are considered obese. Obese affects anyone that has a BMI of 30 or higher. BMI can be calculated using the following formula:

The HCG diet plan is a diet where you take the hormone HCG, also know as Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, either sublingually or through injections. The diet is accompanied by a low calorie diet. When following Dr. Simeons protocol, you will follow a 500-calorie diet. With the HCG diet, its not just the HCG that works and its not just the diet that works. Its a combination of the two. A lot of people wonder if they will go into starvation mode while on the HCG diet. The answer is no. With the diet protocol, your body doesnt just exist on 500 calories. The HCG forces your body to unlock the fat that is stored in the mid-section (hips, thighs, belly, and butt) as well as in the upper arms. Your body then consumes between 1500-4000 calories from the stored fat being released into your body IN ADDITION to the 500 calories that are being eaten. A lot of times this stored fat is referred to as abnormal fat. Its fat that our body does not need to survive. It was stored there by our body because we werent able to burn all that we consumed, or sometimes there are other factors that play into obesity like thyroid issues, hereditary, etc.
The objective of the HCG diet is to help a person lose weight quickly, but also to maintain the weight loss long term. Long term weight stabilization will happen through the use of HCG because it helps reset your hypothalamus, the maintenance phase teaches you how to eat whole & natural foods, and by the end of the full program, your body should no longer be craving the sugars and carbohydrates that your body once craved.
The HCG diet was made public to help people struggling with obesity lose weight. A lot of times, these people may be too overweight to exercise, so dieting is the first step in losing weight. After the weight goes down, they can start to introduce exercise into their daily routine. While on the HCG diet, exercise should be kept to a minimum to ensure your body doesnt burn more than it should, which in turn could cause your body to either go into starvation mode or start burning muscle. Exercise that is allowed while on the diet would be walking, swimming, or yoga. These can be done 3-5 times per week, for up to 1 hour at a time. Although this diet was designed to help obese customers lose weight quickly, it can also be used for people that only have 5 pounds to lose. The protocol is the same, but there are some variations that can be made to ensure you dont lose too much weight.
The foods that are allowed on the HCG diet are lean proteins, fruits, and vegetables. Sugars, starches, and oils are not allowed. By getting rid of these 3 items, your body will start to lose weight. The foods allowed on the HCG diet help your body metabolize them quickly, allowing for a greater weight loss. Anytime that something is eaten or used that is not allowed on the diet, people can experience a stall in their weight loss or even possibly a gain. When doing the HCG diet, its always best to be completely committed to the diet and your health. The best thing for your body is the food listed on the protocol. Even once you enter maintenance, and of course after the diet is all done, its best to stick with a similar way of eating. You dont have to starve yourself, and we would never recommend that you eat only 500 calories per day without HCG in your system. To maintain your weight loss long term, we would recommend a diet rich in lean proteins, raw fruits, and raw vegetables. Even when using diet products such as diet sodas, our body can still gain weight, so its best to steer clear of diet products after the diet is over. It also would be a good idea to introduce a workout routine into your daily life. It doesnt need to be a strenuous workout daily, but a nice 30-60 minute work out 3-5 times per week would be ideal.
When on the HCG diet, you can take the HCG for a minimum of 23 days up to 45 days. The minimum of 23 days is how long it takes for your hypothalamus to be reset. By resetting your hypothalamus, your body will continue to burn calories at your new lower rate, which is typically faster than what it was when a person was overweight. Its not recommended to go over the 45 day mark with the injections, but you can go up to 60 days with the drops. The reason for this is because the body can become immune to HCG. If a body is immune to HCG, the body can go into starvation mode, which will make a person weak and very tired. Its always best to take a break, following the outlined maintenance guidelines, to ensure that you dont become immune. This also ensures that your weight loss will continue at a good pace if you choose to the HCG diet again. If you have more than 40-60lbs to lose, you may have to do multiple rounds of HCG, which is very common. However, make sure you are following maintenance for best results.
When looking to do the HCG diet, make sure you plan ahead. Try doing the diet when you dont have any vacations or parties coming up in the near future. The more you can dedicate yourself to the diet itself, the better off you will be long term.

What Is HCG Diet?
The HCG diet plan revolves around a female hormone called Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin. It is a hormone pregnant women make early in their pregnancy. The diet was developed by an English endocrinologist, Dr. Albert T. W. Simeons.
HCG has been put into hcg diet drops and sprays or hcg injections. You can get injections from your doctor that you take while following a very low-calorie diet. Alternately you can use the diet drops.
The HCG affects your metabolism by telling your body to open fat stores.
When you follow a very low-calorie diet and take the drops or injections at the same time, you can lose up to a pound or more per day. At least that is the claim. When following the HCG diet you adhere to a strict 500 calorie diet plan.
There are HCG meal plans and an HCG diet food list that will outline which foods you can eat while on the hcg diet plan.
There are also many HCG diet recipes you can make while on this diet.
There are few HCG diet dangers to know about before starting on the HCG DIET PLAN.
This diet could increase blood pressure, however, some people actually report a lowering of blood pressure. It may dependon how your individual body handles this diet. You should talk to your doctor before starting this diet, especially ifyou already have high blood pressure.
Since you are eliminating quite a bit of the fat there is some risk of gall stones.Cleansing your gall bladder first is a good thing to do before starting, especially if you are prone to gallstones or have had themin the past.
As you are taking a female hormone there is a fair possibility you may get bloated. In order to combat this make sureto drink a lot of water.
Dont be surprised if you dont go to the bathroom every day. Since you are not eating much you may not gomore than every 2 or 3 days in fact.
This may occur as your body adjusts to the diet and the hormones.
Since you are following such a low-calorie diet on the hcg diet plan, dizziness can occur. When on the diet make sure you have a few dayswhere you dont have to do anything strenuous so if you get dizzy you can easily sit down.
Caused by low potassium in the diet. Taking a potassium supplement or multi vitamin that will help.
This is another possible side effect.
There are 3 stages to the HCG diet
This is the first stage and you start with taking the HCG along with high carb foods and fats.By eating in the manner your body will begin to adapt to the effect of the Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin.
In this second stage of the diet you start on the very low-calorie diet and the same time take the supplements, drops or injections.This is the fat lose stage.
The 3rd and final stage of the HCG diet is the maintenance stage where you are not allowed to eat starches or sugars fora certain length of time.
Most calories on this hcg diet meal plan will come at lunch and dinner. Solid foods are not allowed at breakfast.

HCG is often misused and misunderstood by patients, especially when it comes to weight loss.
HCG can be used as part of a weight loss regimen to help you lose weight, but it's almost always coupled with a very low-calorie diet which can actually be harmful to your metabolism long-term.

It's important that we set the record straight on the difference between HCG the hormone and the HCG Diet.
HCG is actually just a hormone known as human chorionic gonadotropin.
It is naturally secreted in high amounts during pregnancy.
In fact, the amounts that pregnant women are subjected to is much higher than any dose that most people use for weight loss (including in the HCG diet).
HCG the hormone itself has some special properties (1) (which we will discuss below) that make it a valuable tool when and if you are trying to lose weight.
The problem that HCG gets a bad name because the name itself is often associated with the HCG diet.
Which is why we need to spend some time to separate these two ideas.
I'm sure you are familiar with the HCG diet, but if you aren't I would read this post which outlines in more detail why it is often harmful.
The HCG diet is a combination of a sustained very low-calorie diet which is coupled with HCG injections (or drops) throughout the weight loss phase.
The problem with the HCG diet is the duration of the calorie restriction, NOT the HCG hormone itself.
The prolonged calorie restriction in the HCG diet often causes metabolic damage and thyroid changes which almost always result in regaining any weight that was lost during the diet.
Despite this known side effect many people still decide to use the HCG diet, presumably for the temporary weight loss that results.
The problem is that each time you do the HCG diet you damage your metabolism more and more.
So the first time you use the HCG diet you may lose 20+ pounds, the second time you may only lose 5-10 and the third you may not lose any at all.
Each consecutive time you use it you will see your results diminish.
And this process occurs because of the calorie restriction.
This side effect is NOT from the HCG shots or injections!
You could couple a 500 calorie diet with any hormone (such as testosterone, progesterone or thyroid hormone) and you would end up in the same place.
But don't make the mistake of blaming HCG on the damage to your metabolism when it's the fault of the calorie restriction.
If this concept is new to you, or it doesn't make sense I would encourage you to read this article which outlines more information on how calories influence your weight and how to determine if you are eating enough.
It's important to realize that HCG is simply a hormone and because it is a hormone it has special benefits that we can utilize.
And if we combine HCG with proper dietary therapies, supplements, weight loss medications and so on we can actually gain all of the benefits from HCG without any of the downsides.
So let's talk about some of the benefits:
Like any hormone or medication, there are potential side effects and benefits you should consider when using it.
It's helpful to erase in your mind how you currently think about HCG and start over with a blank slate.
In this slate I want you to simply think about HCG as a potential weight loss hormone that, if used correctly, can be added to various different diets and therapies.
Once you've changed how you think about HCG a new world of opportunities and possibilities are available to you.
HCG can now be combined with other weight loss therapies such as Victoza, LDN and so on.
It can be combined with ANY diet including the ketogenic diet, the AIP diet and so on.
It can complement certain supplements that also augment weight loss such as fish oil, berberine, CLA, and alpha lipoic acid.
Suddenly HCG becomes a helpful tool that you can use on your journey to weight loss.
But how does HCG Work? How does it help with weight loss?
It can actually help in several ways...
Potential positive benefits of using HCG:
Because HCG is a hormone it also may have negative side effects that can pop up based on dosing or the sensitivity of the individual.
Potential side effects of using HCG:
HCG is usually very well tolerated and most people do not experience negative side effects.
But some people may experience these side effects and it may be an indication that they are using too much.
If you experience side effects they can usually be eliminated by simply reducing your dose.
The goal is to use the least amount of hormone possible for the largest amount of benefit.
Hormone therapies often suffer from a concept known as diminishing returns.
Diminishing returns is the idea that a given therapy will diminish in value with increasing dose.
So if 100 IU's works for you it doesn't mean that 200 IU's will work twice as well or that 400 IU's will work 4x as well.
HCG is often very helpful for certain women who are trying to lose weight.
Much of this benefit may stem from HCG and its ability to help regulate estrogen and progesterone levels.
The imbalance of estrogen to progesterone may be responsible, at least in part, for weight gain in certain areas of the body (think breasts, butt, thighs and so on).
This distribution of fat differs from other hormone imbalances such as insulin resistance which tends to promote weight gain in the abdominal cavity or surrounding the organs (so-called visceral fat) (5).
The problem with fat mediated by estrogen and progesterone is that it can be very difficult to treat and typically doesn't respond to conventional exercise and diet routines.
Even if these women tend to lose weight, if they don't improve their estrogen/progesterone balance they may end up with an abnormal fat distribution such as very little fat on the abdomen but excess fat on the arms/thighs and so on.
Women who fit this category may benefit from the episodic use of HCG as a complementary therapy to other weight loss therapies.
I've included a list of potential patients who may benefit more than others from the use of HCG based on my own personal experience and based on various clinical studies.
Which women should consider using HCG?
Whenever you can individualize weight loss therapies such as weight loss medication the results tend to be much better than a blanket or one-size-fits-all regimen.
But even when following these guidelines HCG may only promote weight loss in up to 70% of individuals who use it.
HCG also has many benefits for men and may be the reason that men do so well on the conventional HCG diet when compared to women.
HCG looks similar to another hormone known as LH or luteinizing hormone (7).
Because HCG looks similar to LH (at least to cellular receptors) it may sit on and activate LH receptors and lead to a normalization or natural boost to testosterone levels in men.
Because testosterone is so important (for both men and women, but especially in men) at promoting the male physique(8) the use of HCG may stimulate weight loss in men through this mechanism alone.
HCG should also be considered an integral part of normal testosterone replacement therapy which should include bio-identical testosterone, HCG to retard testicular atrophy and an estrogen blocker.

The truth is that not all weight loss therapies will work for all people, and even if they do work in some people the efficacy will vary from person to person.
So 10 people could use the same therapy and experience various degrees of weight loss despite using it in the exact same way.
This doesn't mean that the therapy is flawed, but it does mean that you should do your best to personalize your regimen.
HCG is more useful as a side therapy for weight loss that should be combined with more powerful weight loss medications such as Victoza and Liothyronine.
In this way, it's not the most powerful weight loss medications but it can often help boost weight loss results by 5-15 pounds (depending on the person).
HCG is a hormone which may help to promote other hormone functions in both men and women.
It gets a bad name because of its association with the HCG diet, but after reading this hopefully, you can make a distinction between HCG the hormone and the HCG diet.
HCG the hormone is beneficial when used correctly, and the HCG is almost always harmful.
If you are considering using HCG make sure that you obtain a written prescription from a physician and make sure that you personalize dosing to your body.
