Selangor's Indonesian star Andik Vermansyah has said that he almost close to achieving full fitness again, and he intends to use the coming Ramadan fasting month to get fully fit.
When met by Goal on Friday, the winger told us that he is 90 per centfit, and is eager to be registered in the competitions squad by the Red Giants.
"Praise Allah, my injury is fully healed. But in terms of fitness, I am lacking that final 10 per cent.
"If I do get registered by the team in the transfer window, we then have the (Super League) matches against Sarawak and Pahang, and then the break for Ramadan.
"I can work even more on my fitness during that period," explained the 25-year old winger.
The football season in Malaysia, a Muslim-majority country, takes a month-long break every year during the Islamic month of Ramadan, when Muslims are required to refrain from eating and drinking during the day.
When asked about his long lay-off back in Indonesia, Andik responded that his injury was treated wellby the Indonesian FA. He suffered an ACL injury in December last year, while playing for his home country in the 2016 AFF Cup.
"I got the injury while playing for the national team, so they took care of everything. The FA handled it profesionally; my operation as well as physiotherapy.
"I then trained on my own, which was tough at first, but it got easier over time," answered Andik.
But the former Persebaya star finally let on, that amidst his rehabilitation, he still had time to catch up with his old friends, and he even played a little football with them.
"I trained, worked on my rehabilitation, but I had a lot of friends back home.
"So I did have a kickabout with them everyday, I couldn't simply sit around and do nothing!" he said with a sly grin.

They have argued that the physical nature of their role means they cannot guarantee they will be able to fulfil their duties beyond the age of 60, putting the public at risk.
But new rules mean they will have to work until 65 and eventually 68, before they are entitled to claim their pension.
Established in 2005, the CNC has more than 1,250 armed officers, who patrol all non-military nuclear sites - including the 14 atomic power stations - and keep them safe from terrorist attack.
The highly trained specialists can also be deployed at short notice to assist with any large scale national emergencies in order to bolster the number of armed officers on the streets.
While they have the same powers of arrest as ordinary warranted officers, the role of a CNC constable is very different, and when not out on patrol spend a large amount of their time undertaking rigorous training exercises.
They provide a round the clock ring of steel around nuclear establishments and must be prepared to repel any form of attack by terrorists.

With spring in full bloom, now is a good time to get off of the couch.
Dr. Neal Patalinghug, with Meritus Family Medicine-Williamsport, said walking is one of the most sustainable, efficient, readily accessible and budget-friendly forms of exercise. Best of all, walking lends itself to people of all ages and fitness levels, including those with health conditions.
According to Patalinghug, sticking with an exercise program is the key to longevity and improved health. Walking doesnt require practice most people have been doing it since they were toddlers and it can:
Make your heart pump more efficiently and improve circulation
Keep your cholesterol and blood pressure in check
Reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes or help you manage the condition
Strengthen your bones and tone your leg muscles
Increase the calories you burn
Help you lose weight and keep it off
Help you relax and sleep better
Give you energy and increase stamina
Clear your head and provide time to process things
Before starting a walking program, check with your doctor, especially if youre 60 or older, or have heart, respiratory or balance problems. Patalinghug recommended buying walking shoes with good cushioning to soften your weight against the ground.
Because youll warm up fast, dress like its 10 degrees warmer outside and wear moisture-wicking fabrics such as polyester and polypropylene. Wearing lighter-colored clothing makes you more visible to cars and doesnt attract the sun.
If youre new to exercise or if youve been inactive, start by walking for short amounts of time, and slowly increase your distance each week. That approach allows your muscles, joints, tendons and ligaments to follow a natural progression to longer workouts with far less risk of injury.
Stretch your calf muscles after a walk. Start by standing on a step with your heels hanging off the edge. Holding onto a rail, lift and lower your heels.
Patalinghug offers these tips for a safe and effective workout:
Find a safe, well-paved area in which to walk. Consider bringing a friend for company, motivation and safety.
Focus on keeping your spine straight, chin up and shoulders back, but relaxed.
Land on your heels and roll your weight toward your toes.
Swing your arms gracefully in time with your legs.
Keep at a talking pace, meaning you can easily sing to yourself or talk to your partner.
Listen to your body, and never work through joint pain, chest pain or shortness of breath. Pain is an indicator that something might be wrong. If you are experiencing light-headedness, stop exercising.
Increase the intensity by walking faster, longer and uphill, or combine fast and slow intervals.
To create an exercise habit, Patalinghug suggested walking at certain times of day, such as at lunch or after dinner. To keep things interesting, treat yourself and/or family to a nature hike. Meritus Healths partnership with the National Park Service encourages participation in the Kids in Parks TRACK Trails program, an expanding network of family-friendly outdoor trails. Offering benefits such as weight loss, improving overall health and helping people clear their minds, walking is accessible to everyone. You just need to put on your sneakers and get moving.

When my friends Katy and Nathan moved to Boston in 2014, they joined November Project, whose members gather for free early-morning workouts in cities around the country. It didnt take long before they were hooked on the workouts and the community.
Like an organized religion without the religion, Nathan says, November Project offered a network of people with shared values, including interests in good health and friendships as well as a willingness to embrace such rituals as hugs and chants. For me, he says, its essentially the Church of Playing Outside and Working Out.
It may sound almost cultlike a description that some November Project devotees embrace. And theyre not alone. Options for group exercise with ritualistic twists and devoted followers include CrossFit, SoulCycle, Bikram Yoga and Fit4Mom (along with plenty of gyms and studios that sell fitness alongside promises of fun and friends).
For some, a tribe-like atmosphere keeps them coming back for more. But others fail to get hooked, and then drift away.
Its not clear what separates these joiners from those whod rather not, and that mystery echoes a bigger questions facing both fitness studios and public health experts: Why do so few people stick with exercise?
Despite national guidelines that recommend 150 minutes of moderate activity each week for major health benefits plus strength work such as weights or push-ups, only about half of American adults get enough aerobic exercise, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Nearly 30 percent get no physical activity in their spare time.
Even when intentions are good, about half of people who start exercise programs drop out within the first six months, says Rodney Dishman, an exercise scientist at the University of Georgia in Athens. After two years, Dishman says, 80 percent have given up. Those numbers havent budged over three decades of research, he adds.
Researchers have found plenty of reasons for quitting, including waning motivation, lack of easy access to exercise facilities or walkable neighborhoods, and false expectations about how quickly results will appear. Injury and discomfort are other common excuses, says Jack Raglin, an exercise psychologist at Indiana University in Bloomington.
To get folks to keep coming back, many fitness studios work to create an enticing environment, often with an emphasis on community, even peer pressure, and competition.
SoulCycles website promises empowerment to clients, claiming it doesnt just change bodies, it changes lives. November Project has a page on its website for teasing people who said theyd come but then skipped a morning workout. And in Minneapolis, a studio called The Firm boasts: We make working out an event, driven by pride, passion and love, building community one name at a time.
Theres no publicly available data to show whether the community-building or the guilt works. But social support can be a powerful motivational tool, some research suggests.
Raglins research, for example, has found that, when people enrolled in an exercise program with a spouse, more than 90 percent stuck with it for a year compared with slightly more than half of those who enrolled alone. When one member of a couple drops out, though, the other usually does, too, Raglin says. That echoes other research showing that friends and family can enhance or sabotage exercise rates.
And not everyone responds the same way to social pressure. In a 2016 study, British researchers found that CrossFit members reported a greater sense of community belongingness than did people who went to traditional gyms. But overall, the two groups exercised the same amount, suggesting that people who like to exercise with others may simply seek out more-social gyms.
It either works, Raglin says, or it backfires.
I have heard both positive and negative stories about group exercise experiences from friends, including plenty of CrossFit fans and some who tried it but eventually moved on. One thought shed love the workouts but found that she was comparing herself to a mostly younger clientele who spent lots of time together outside the gym without her.
It felt, she says, like grade-school gym again, frankly.
And while injury rates are not tracked, risks can rise when people jump into new exercise routines, Raglin says, especially for high-intensity workouts. Even elite athletes are careful to plan recovery and rest days.
If your goal is partly recreational and partly stress relief and partly enjoying yourself, he says, then focusing exclusively on high-intensity stuff may not be the right recipe.
Relying too much on a group for motivation can also set people up for failure if an injury, busy schedule or social situation distances them from the group, Dishman says.
The same goes for other motivators, he adds, such as the desire to lose weight, live longer or improve heart health. Exercise for far-off goals takes too much time to keep many people going.
Instead, Dishman argues, physical activity is most likely to become a lifelong habit when the desire to do it becomes part of a persons identity when motivation comes not from guilt but from a feeling that Im exercising because I see myself as an active person.
A social group or studio membership may provide a pathway to that identity, Dishman says. Eventually, though, satisfaction should come just from moving your body.

When you decide you want to lose weight, often the first thing you will do is restrict your calories.
This is the worst thing you can do.
Lisa Young, a nutritionist and adjunct professor of nutrition at New York University told Womens Health that cutting too many calories can actually stall weight loss.

She added that this is because the body needs calories in order to burn calories. Lisa likened it to when you want to light a fire you need to throw kindling on the fireplace to ignite it.
The nutritionist continued the fire analogy by encouraging you to think of food as your bodys kindling.
When you are eating enough food, the body uses this food for fuel and then turns the fat it has stored into energy.

This ties into previous studies that have shown people who skip breakfast are more likely to put on weight than people who dont.
Studies have also found eating healthy food regularly helps keep you full and is one of the best ways to lose weight.
If you are actively trying to lose weight, the National Institutes of Health said women should eat 1,200 to 1,500 calories per day and men should eat around 1,900 calories.
If you are eating less calories than this per day, it becomes tough for the body to perform basic functions that keep us healthy.

LIFE is one big balancing act, and for most of us, one of lifes biggest challenges is maintaining a healthy weight to make us look and feel great.
Australian Bureau of Statistics research in 2015 found an estimated 11.2 million Australian adults were either overweight or obese and the main contributing factors to this were poor diet and inadequate physical activity.
While there are many fad diets that claim to have fast weight loss results, its not always about the type of diet were on, but rather simple tweaks we can make to improve our daily food regimen.
Nutritionist Sarah Moore, from Sarah Moore Wellness says: Many Australians will go on fad diets as a quick fix, however these diets are not sustainable and are often unhealthy. Making simple changes to your daily routine like preparing meals in advance and changing your cooking methods can help you to lose weight and keep it off.
To help show you how you can make changes, here are six of her best and easiest ways to lose weight that dont involve going on a diet.
1. Steam cooking food
Healthier than boiling or frying foods, steam cooking eliminates the need to use fats or oils to keep food moist. By steaming foods that are rich in natural vitamins and minerals, such as vegetables and fish, you are able to retain the foods nutritional value by preserving up to 90% of antioxidants in the food item.

2. Meal prep for a busy lifestyle
Work, family, friends, sporting activities and social engagements lead to busy lives and we sometimes make poor food choices on the fly to save time. These poor choices are often quick, unhealthy meals that are high in energy, saturated fat and sodium and are unlikely to be full of vegetables and other essential whole foods. Prepping healthy meals once or twice a week can prepare you for those busy days at work leading you to reach for naughty options.
3. Keeping on top of portion control
Follow the Australian Dietary Guidelines guide to manage your portion sizes. Choose unprocessed foods from the five food groups everyday and follow suggested serves for each group to assist you in managing your energy and nutrient intake.

4. Healthier drink choices
The consumption of alcohol is a big factor impeding weight loss due to the high number of kilojoules and the poor food choices made when we drink. If you do choose to drink alcohol, set a limit before you start and stick to it. Alternate alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic drinks like water or soda water, and choose lower kilojoule drinks like red wine or vodka and soda over cocktails.
5. Eating in and eating out
The Enhanced Media Metrics Australia report found the average Australian eats fast food on average once a week. While dining out or ordering takeaway isnt always a bad thing, the types of food we choose to consume can be. When eating out, portions are larger and the food tends to be a lot higher in energy, fat, sodium and sugar than if we made similar food at home. Make healthy choices when dining out by choosing grilled or baked options over fried, choose salad and vegetables as side dishes and share dessert.

6. Living an active lifestyle
Exercise is a great way to lose weight and ensure you are living a healthy lifestyle. However, high intensity workouts or visiting a gym arent the only components of an active lifestyle. Working out for 30-60 minutes a day doesnt undo hours of sitting. Incidental activity is just as important, so try to include short bursts of spontaneous activity throughout the day. Use the stairs instead of the lift, get up from the computer every hour and walk around, go for a walk during your lunch break, get off the bus one stop earlier and choose the farthest parking bays.

This past Saturday, May 6th, was International No Diet Day and we were here for it! All across the world, fat babes joinedin to party and rally for INDD, the annual celebration of fat liberation and body diversity. The focus of INDD is to promote a lifestyle of positivity which does not revolve around the pressure of scales and dieting.

Rejecting diets shouldnt be such a revolutionary act, but in a culture that glorifies thinness and Eurocentric beauty standards, how could it be anything but? Dieting can be a yo-yo journey based on ego rather than actual fact and real, lasting lifestyle modifications including the journey to self-love from within. According to The Institute of Medicine, those who complete weight-loss programs lose approximately 10 percent of their body weight only to regain two-thirds within a year and almost all of it within five years. This diet industry counts on this, banking approximately $60 BILLION dollars each year.
Started in 1992, the first International No Diet Day was created by a group of feminist from the UK. Now, it is celebrated across the world.
We interviewed fat liberation activist Crystal Newman of Fat Positive Louisville, a fat activist group based in Louisville, Kentucky. Newman worked hard to bring a fat positive celebration to Louisville this year during the ultra-visible Derby Days and hopefully many more to come.

Wear Your Voice: What inspired you to get involved in the fat liberation movement? Crystal Newman: I got inspired to participatein the fat liberation movement because I realized that being fat impacted multiple facets of my life in impactful ways, other than how I felt about myself. I realized that being fat was more than playground bullying in school. Fat impacts how people treat you at work, in interpersonal relationships, navigating transportation, and getting resources whether its for fashion or resources that impact your livelihood (like the healthcare system).
WYV: How do you feel that the body positivity movement is dropping the ball? Where does fat lib pick it up? CN: The body positive movement is dropping the ball by skimming the surface and it further aids in the oppression of populations that need it most. I am a superfat, black, queer, disabled, non-binary femme and in many instances, all I see is white, able-bodied, small-to-mid fat cis-women represented. Even thin white women are forcing their way into these spaces and I see people like me silenced and pushed out.
Body positivity only skims the surface and only accepts bodies that fall under the Eurocentric ideal and the only way progress is being made is under the guise of consumerism, dog-eat-dog culture, lookism, and Whiteness. Even when I ran the group for two years, I found myself to be erased and silenced as I stood in the background doing the majority of the work.
True, fat liberation aligns itself with other social justice movements (anti-racism, anti-capitalism, disability justice, anti-homophobia, anti-transphobia and so much more) and I try my best to live my life under those principles. Fat liberation, I feel, brings more community. [In contrast, being] body positive [encourages] every person [to be] for themselves.

WYV: Why is No Diet Day important to you? How is Fat Positive Louisville celebrating it? CN: Its important to me because Ive been fat shamed and encouraged to diet since elementary school. I got bullied a lot in school for my weight. I grew up into a fat adult and developed mental illness and eating disorders. I endured weight discrimination at work. While undergoing trauma therapy, I realized THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BODY. Weight bias and discrimination is wrong.
Once I realized that the day was coming up and I was able to gather up a few spoons, I made this day a priority. Additionally, May 6th is also Kentucky Derby in Kentucky, so I didnt want to just celebrate by myself. I wanted Louisville, KY, the whole state, and the WHOLE COUNTRY to celebrate with me! Against the advice of a few loved ones, I said that Im going to involve my organization Fat Positive Louisville cause this is a once a year thing. I want to nurture the child in me that says every dream is possible. So I painted a picture, involved a few close friends, and said, We are doing this online campaign and here we are!
WYV: How would you like to see it embraced within the fat community? CN: I would like to see No Diet Day a day that fat folks can love on one another and bring back the community in fat community. Hold each others hands (with consent) and let each other know that we had a vision over 40 years ago. WE can stick to this and we can make an impact.
WYV: If you could tell the world one thing about fat oppression, what would it be? CN: Its not just a fat persons job to end their own oppression. EVERYBODY needs to do the work. Stop holding on to the biases and prejudices that influence oppression. Stop keeping silent cause you feel like you dont have many people on your side. If you KNOW ITS WRONG, fight it. Dont let oppression happen.

Whether you (secretly) love Mama June or cringe every time you hear her name, you have to admit that Mama June Shannons dramatic weight loss has completely transformed her appearance for the better. If you havent been following her weight loss journey on WE TVs Mama June: From Not to Hot, you may not be familiar with how she managed to drop 300 pounds. The truth is that even if you have watched every second of the show, there are several things you might not know. Here are 5 things you were never told about Mama Junes weight loss.
There was more to her weight loss than just diet and exercise.
After losing 90 pounds, Mama Junes weight loss plateaued and she began to experience fainting episodes. With a goal of losing at least 80 more pounds, she opted to undergo gastric sleeve surgery. This procedure involves taking out around 80% of the stomach, though the digestive tract stays intact, unlike gastric bypass surgery. While this procedure is permanent, shell still have to exercise and eat healthy or run the risk of regaining the weight she lost.
To perfect her look, she underwent over $75,000 worth of surgery.
In addition to having 9 pounds of loss skin removed from her stomach, bat wings (sides of her arms), and turkey neck, Mama June also underwent a variety of plastic surgery procedures. They include liposuction around her neck and on her face, a tummy tuck, and breast implants and a lift. She also had porcelain veneers placed on her teeth. Finally, she had a procedure referred to as cool sculpting to get rid of her double chin.
She didnt rely on anyone else for help with her medical bills.
In an interview with the Dominic Nati Show, Mama June was quick to point out that she alone was responsible for the costs of her surgery. She said, I had to pay, just like everybody else. Of course, she did receive money from WE TV for appearing on the show, which made it easier for her to afford the procedures. On the other hand, no one has revealed how much she was paid for doing the show.
Shes joined a support group.
Although she was nervous about walking into a room of people I dont know and talking about my overeating, Mama June decided it was necessary to join an overeaters support group to help maintain her weight loss long-term. She opted for a small support group, which was particularly beneficial after she fell off the wagon due to the stress of Sugar Bears upcoming wedding.
Her weight loss has taken a (positive) toll on her emotional health.
Although Mama June admits that her weight loss was initially motivated by revenge and a desire to make Sugar Bear kind of jealous, thats no longer the case. Now, shes motivated because I dont want to disappoint everybody and not be the skinny Mama June that everybody is looking forward to. it cant be about making everyone happy its got to be about me.

One reason why people turn to food is to avoid facing unpleasant emotions. Hi, this is Eunice with Diet Center.
It can be very difficult to face our feelings, and a lot easier to take comfort in food. Ignoring our feelings wont make whatever is bothering us go away. Identifying your feelings will help you understand what you are experiencing so that you can address a situation and improve it. Enduring unpleasant emotions is necessary in order to process them.
The next time you feel the urge to binge or indulge yourself to feel better, try facing your feelings first. Think about what is causing you to feel the way you do, and how you can improve the situation without food. You may need to cry, turn to a friend, or address the actual situation or person that is making you unhappy.
Then there are those of us that celebrate with food.
Many significant events in life are celebrated with food. Food is also there when everyone else has left. Is it any wonder that our unconscious mind associates food with comfort, control, acceptance, self-worth, confidence, or happiness? Food doesn't provide any of these things.
There are many sensory associations that trigger certain eating behaviors. For example, many people desire something sweet after dinner. It may be that after you eat something savory that taste on your palette triggers an association for something sweet.
You can retrain your palette!
Whenever you have the feeling that you just have to eat something sweet after dinner, it may be that your unconscious mind has linked flavors and sensory data to initiate this behavior. You can retrain your palette by making a conscious effort to practice new behaviors. Instead of eating sweets, drink water, brush your teeth, or begin some other enjoyable activity that doesnt involve food.
In addition, you should know what youre eating. Keep a food diary, and write down everything that you eat. This will help make your conscious mind aware of what you are eating. When you know what is good for you and practice good behaviors, you can retrain your mind to help you achieve your goals.
Setting goals are important to your long-term success. Successful people set goals to monitor their progress and motivate themselves to accomplish tasks important to them. It is important that your goals are truly yours. Think about the goals you have set for yourself. Who benefits most from these goals? Are you striving to please your spouse, friends, family, or doctor? Maybe your goals were set as a result of someone elses prompting and not your own ideas.
For example, are you trying to lose 10 pounds because your doctor said you should? You will only succeed at achieving your weight loss goals if you find meaningful reasons for making changes in your lifestyle.

THE world's fattest woman is preparing to be treated in Abu Dhabi this week after falling out with her Indian doctors over her treatment.
New images released this week showed the apparent dramatic weight loss Eman Ahmed had achieved following surgery.
But now she has been loaded onto a specially adapted plane to take her to the Middle East.
Eman had to have Dr Shajir Gaffar, CEO of VPS Healthcare, Dubai and Northern Emirates and Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery where she is due to be treated, on the flight to monitor her heart due to her still massive weight.
It comes as doctors in India have refusing to continue treating Eman saying they have fitted a gastric band and now she needs to continue the work on her own at home.
Eman who tipped the scales at an incredible half a tonne (79 stone) was discharged from hospital with medics refusing to carry out any further treatment on her following a falling out between Eman's sister Shaimaa Selim and her treating surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala.

Shaimaa Selim said her sister had deteriorated since the operation at the Saifee Hospital in the city of Mumbai in western India's Maharashtra state.
The pair flew from their home in the Egyptian city of Alexandria to India after surgeon Dr Muffazal Lakdawala offered to help Ms Abdulati lose weight.
He performed bariatric surgery, which involves fitting a gastric band to reduce the size of her stomach and claimed the operation had helped her lose about 250 kilogrammes (39 stone 7 pounds).
But Ms Selim says the hospital does not even have equipment capable of weighing her and she estimates that her sister has lost no more than 60 kilogrammes (9 stone 6 pounds).
The row rumbled on and caused Ms Selim to seek outside help with medics form Abu Dhabi stepping forward.
Eman had previously not left her home in Alexandria, Egypt for 25 years prior to the weight loss trip to India.
Sanet Mayer, Director of Burjeel's Medevac unit, said Eman is set to undergo a series of health tests when she arrives at the new facility.

Eman is currently being fed a special liquid diet via a feeding tube and cannot speak very well. This happened when she suffered a stroke in Egypt prior to the surgery.
Sanet said: "She can understand some commands, but she is unable to complete sentences. She's not able to speak words that people can understand, but she can obey commands.
"Everything is ready and prepared, she has a specialised room prepared for her and the family, and she has a bariatric bed, which prevents bed sores for long term patients."
But getting Eman to the hospital safely is the gravest concern for now, say medics.
Dr Gaffar continued: "As of now I would say health and safety is our priority. We are looking at the safe transportation of the patient, to Abu Dhabi, from here."
